The registers are all now squeaky clean (they were horribly coated in dust) & our house no longer smells musty/dusty whenever the air comes on. The cost for the service was $750. I have no idea if this is good or not. I have nothing to compare the price to, since I couldn't find anyone else in our area that does true duct cleaning. But I will say these 2 guys worked hard and did a stellar job. They even offered to put our new filter in for us (we supplied it) at no extra charge.

They didn't tell us we would be required to have yearly inspections, but when we found out a year later, we did it. It was costly. The following year, since their yearly inspection and maintenance costs were so expensive, we specifically asked them if it would hurt our warranty if we went somewhere else for our maintenance that had to be kept up once a year in order to maintain the warranty. They assured us it would be fine to get it maintained elsewhere, that it won't affect our warranty at all. What they didn't tell us was as soon as we did that, our life-time guaranty with them -- with Addcox -- was considered void. We found out just now, after 3 1/2 years, that, "Oh, well, your units are no longer guaranteed with us because you went somewhere else for your yearly inspection and maintenance." Wow. Really? How convenient for them. They should have been upfront. I feel I was lied to.

Mason at Hedlund here in Eugene provided me with one of the worst repair service experiences I have…read moreever had. My Samsung washing machine needed new suspension rods. The first red flag was that he quoted me $150 for a service call, and then charged me $155. I initially dismissed it as negligible and moved on. He then proceeded to quote me $110 per suspension rod, and including the service call and labor said it would be $680. He recommended I either go for the repair, or just buy a new washing machine. I was about to pay the $680, when I luckily called my partner, and she said we should think it over. I did some research on my own, and found out that not only is suspension rod replacement extremely easy to do on your own, but Samsung's suspension rods go for $50 a pop, not $110. You can get 3rd party ones for even cheaper. I got four for $36. I did it on my own in 45 minutes. In conclusion, Mason at Hedlund gave me unthinkably egregious quotes for a simple repair. Very negative experience with Mason and this company.

Then he does not text me a photo (since I could not be there) of what he described he saw behind stacked dryer, "It was so dirty I have to take a shower. And there's a Tide box on the ground." When the vent cleaning company went there afterwards, they said it wasn't very dirty around the dryer & a tiny Tide box on the ground side easy to pick up. They said Mason never reattached the hose from the dryer to the outside! Then approx 2 mos later, the squeak returned. He would only text and refused to call on the phone like I wanted, saying he was too busy. Then when I texted him the squeak returned and asked what could it be (nicely), he texted, "Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to help with service requests in the future. I recommend reaching out to another company. Thank you for your time." What a guy, eh???
