Margarita flight

Atmosphere was clean and open. Took a few minutes to be addressed when we entered the restaurant. Once we ordered the alcoholic beverages did not arrive until we were pretty much done with our full meal. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with menu items. Food was good

I'm surprised to downgrade my feelings on Jalapeño's since they've opened their newly built location. I'm torn on 3 or 4 stars now, but due to the snark from a couple employees the last couple of times, I'm downgrading to three. While the new space is attractive, being seated in one of the giant rounded booths with another couple is very unfortunate. We had difficulty talking because we felt like we were seated with two strangers. Admittedly, going back another time, we were willing to wait a little while to avoid this again since trying to sit upstairs with sports on the tv was extremely loud and we wouldn't have been able to talk. While all the new dinnerware is beautiful, getting meals on two plates is a bit cumbersome, especially at a small table. Dinner for four and there sometimes being two plates in front of you, one of which is just beans and rice is odd... I'm good with it touching my tacos rather than having two giant plates and having to reach to eat. We always order queso... and since the move and new plating method, we have had to ask for chips every single time. While I know we get chips and salsa at seating, queso always takes long enough for the chips to be mostly gone. All of the servers have been great... expediters not as much. They did away with their coupon that has been on yelp for more than 6 years and admittedly, that makes it less intriguing to go. It truly did help make decisions on where to go.

Hits the spot. Outstanding customer service, wonderful mocktails, and food to hit every nacho/taco/cheese craving you have right now. The relaxed atmosphere of the beautiful building, high ceilings, and busy atmosphere, makes Jalapenos the perfect stop for when the taco cravings kick in.

Brunch was amazing !! Delicious chilaquiles

I recently just moved to Eagle River and I was looking for a place to eat. The place was very welcoming and the host were very nice and polite. The first thing I was told to try was the que Rico cheese . Man oh man was I in for a treat . I am definitely gonna come back . Overall it's a nicely put establishment.

My favorite restaurant in town! Service, food, atmosphere, all of it was well above average in my opinion.

By far the best Mexican in all of Alaska! Way better than any of its competitors. Would highly recommend. Their queso dip is on point.

Great ambiance. Small town family digs. The regina's tacos are the best. Love the shrimp fundidio. Just ask. They will make it.

The chips arrived hot, and the salsas (hot and mild) were the real deal. Ask for the green salsa, too, as it goes beyond the normal salsa verde, and it is really, really good. My husband and MIL ordered the Halibut Tacos ($26.50), and these were surprisingly just okay. The halibut itself was great, but there wasn't any sort of sauce with the tacos, which left the taco as a whole coming across as somewhat bland. My son ordered the Acapulco Dinner ($29.95), which contained shrimp, crab meat, chicken breast, cream sauce, tomatoes, avocado, and cheese, served with tortillas. He loved it. I ordered the Seafood Fundido ($28.50), which is a deep-fried specialty made up of shrimp and crabmeat, jalapeño cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and pico. Naughty, but so good!! I wish we would have been able to try their margaritas, as I'm sure they're amazing. However, we had a long drive ahead of us, so we settled with water, which was kept refilled I recommend this restaurant, and I'd happily return.

I asked for shrimp added to a meal and I received 3 shrimp and was never notified that they're added one at a time. Never asked how many shrimp I wanted, never notified of the insane up-charge. Whoever decided this price should be the first admitted when mental asylums re-open. Wasting my hard earned dollar on shit food. I'm embarrassed to admit I even ate here now knowing what I know. Probably the worst mexican in all AK, maybe all of the west coast? Do you want better mexican? Go to El Pastor, Blazing Street Tacos, or Xalos. No reason you should go here unless you want to clog their toilet as a gift.

Simply wow! Wow. This place transports you to Mexico/…read moreOaxaca. Fresh, authentic and Uncompromising flavors. We have had a lot of Mexican food on both sides of the border. their fried beans is #1. Spicy Salsas wow, slaps you , yes from the first bite, it's unbelievable they are here in Anchorage. Enchiladas, verde pollo were flavor explosions. You will have to remind yourself you are in Anchorage Alaska, when you're enjoying their delicious food and friendly caring staff. Yes the menu will be a bit challenging and they may disappear after serving you.. ;) but it's necessary for what they deliver. If they were in NY or CA, they will be minting, But of all places Anchorage gets this Treasure. Loved the food, the spice, the flavor and the freshness. Caring friendly staff. Loved it. Good luck guys. Keep up the good work.

While the mole sauce was delicious, the chicken thighs I received were so small and bony, my rice lacked flavor and the beans were very soupy. My chips were like the little broken pieces at the bottom of the bag making it hard to scoop any decent amount of salsa into them. For almost $30/plate I was anticipating more protein, bolder flavors and better quality. I want to give them another chance, but sometimes first impressions are lasting impressions. Service was friendly but waitstaff were busy so not as attentive. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a hole in the wall.
