We loved dim sum on a Sunday afternoon. Our favorite was the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings. The service was great. We went on a whim, but we're glad we got there right when they opened, because a line was starting to form. read more

Absolutely amazing for DIM SUM on weekends. Great atmosphere, staff was awesome but the food was on stop. I will be going be again.

Took my 95 year old dad for his birthday! We're Chinese and since we've heard so much about this restaurant, we decided to try it out! Service, ambiance and food was great! Jade is a sister restaurant to New Fortune Dim Sum and Seafood Restaurant (sadly, now closed due to COVID issues) so we hoped to get some dim sum as well. Dim sum not as good as New Fortune's cart access catering dim sum but better than none at all. Noticed the lunch menu items were pretty much typical of Chinese restaurants. We ordered from the a la carte menu with better selections for family style dining. read more

The food is always delicious here. We split a dish here because the servings are so large. Ask for Tony.. he's hilariously funny and peppy. It's a bit quiet tonight, except for us and Tony. It's a great space and the food is excellent. read more

Fantastic Chinese dim sum restaurant out in the Westlake community just outside of Austin. Very nice variety of pork or chicken dumplings, XLBs, bbq pork buns, har gow, etc. Rather than push carts, you order from a full menu and service is super fast! Before you know it, your assortment of main dishes such as shrimp fried rice or Singapore noodles and dim sum have arrived piping hot! Sweet and savory is the name of the game so balance out your selections to include the egg cream buns and the sesame balls!! We love the great, authentic flavors and if you go for lunch or dinner you won't believe the huge selection from Peking Duck to Double Lobster tail to Steamed Sea Bass! See you there early (they open at 11 am) for dim sum one of these weekends! read more

We have eaten here 4 times now and enjoy our meals every time. The restaurant is not noisy so we could talk with our friends.

Best dumplings I have ever had. It's seriously so amazing. Everything here is!!! Great place! read more

Had a craving for dim sum, this is a cute little place. Very clean and service was great! Very attentive but not annoying. The dim sum and egg drop soup was delicious, I also ordered the salt and peppered shrimp. The shrimp had a weird taste not sure if it was the oil it was fried in or what but it almost seemed like a propane/gas taste. I didn't care for it, ended up only taking about 2 bites. read more

We have been doing take out with them since the pandemic and went back to dine in recently. Food is average but unfortunately service is where it's really not great. Upon seated no one let us know what to expect and a waitress came asking what we want to drink. No additional info were given and we don't know who will be taking our orders , since they no longer do push carts for dim sum. We got our water and were again only told someone will take our order. Took another 10-15mins until we started to ask around and the waiter finally showed up and gave us a lecture on how 10mins is a very short wait with a condescending tone. I understand they are busy but not sure why we deserve a lecture and why other waitress seems so clueless. We should have just stick to take out. People been saying this is sister restaurant of new fortune- I still don't see if that matters at all and I still miss new fortune a ton. It's was at least ok for a dim sum desert like Austin. But seeing all the positive reviews on yelp I guess we simply does not have the right demographic for an authentic dim sum place. read more

This place is a solid choice in the food desert of the Rollingwood / Westlake area. Usually I have to go way up north for reasonable asian cuisine. There are solid places up there but it's too far to drive. It's only my second time getting takeout from Jade and this time was considerably better than the first. My guests all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I'm gonna have to dine in soon, and there's a chance this review could be upgraded to 5 stars. the 4 stars is because I am biased against plastic takeout containers when more sustainable / healthier options are available. Also the front of house shouldn't be wearing a mask... I realize it's been a sketchy time but at this point we should be greeted by smiling faces and not a timid masked people. read more

Everything we had was delicious -- Spicy Edamame, Walnut Shrimp & Tuna tower. The tuna tower was gorgeous & delicious & the Walnut Shrimp like dessert -- which is good because they didn't have real dessert. We had tea & hot sake to drink. I would've given them five stars but they were out of the Peking duck apparently a common occurrence. We stopped at Cho's in Steiner Ranch for Cheesecake, Mango Mochi & Creme Bruele. read more

Don't let the location fool you. Probably the best and most authentic Chinese food in Texas outside of the Houston Asian communities. Plus they have a surprising large and respectable wine selection. Worth the drive out to get some delicious authentic Asian fare paired with some great bang for your buck! read more

Came here for dimsum on a Sunday morning around 11:30AM. Thankfully the place was not packed. Ordered 4-5 dishes (see pics) and my favorite was probably the chinese broccoli, although you can't really go wrong with this dish anywhere or else there's a problem. The XLB's were a bit too sweet for my liking. The hot and sour soup was actually quite tasty, but you could definitely taste the vinegar so if you're not a fan of this, probably stay away. The egg drop corn soup was also good. Service was fast and efficient. Although not a bad spot, I probably would try other dim sum places before coming back here if I did. read more

Yes I'm a fan of this place. Great atmosphere, attentive service, upscale setting with a very familiar taste to my favorite dishes. So apparently this place is run by the group who runs our favorite dim sum place on Lamar. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper pork ribs, the eggplant with ground pork and the green beans. We have dined here twice and loved it both times. We will be back! read more

I am on a mission to try all Shanghai soup dumplings in the city, so Jade has been on the list for some time. This restaurant is in a nice little plaza, on the second floor. I went on a Sunday around 1PM and was sat in about 15 minutes after getting there. My friend I did 10 soup dumplings, the Szechuan dumplings, and the hot and sour soup. Everything came out very quickly. The soup dumplings were tasty and definitely the highlight. I would come back to try out their lunch options - they had some really solid Chinese dishes on their menu that looked like they were worth trying. read more

I was *influenced* to come here by their Instagram page, and omg it totally lived up to the expectations! We walked in and the place was surprisingly pretty empty, so there was no wait at all for our party of 3. Absolutely everything we ordered was great-- we got soup dumplings, fried dumplings, steamed pork buns, honey walnut chicken, and sesame balls. We really want to come back for dim sum, because we love all the small bites and want to try just about everything they have! 10/10 will be back read more

I got the crab Rangoon and the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was really over cooked and not very tasty. I really liked the ran-goons. I would try this place again just for the ran-goons. read more

A group of 4 of us went in on a rainy Sunday around noon expecting a long wait and got seated within seconds. We decided to order off of the weekend dim dum menu (to be honest, we were all craving soup dumplings so that's the soul reason for our visit) and boy were we satisfied. We each ordered a full order of soup dumplings (6 per order) and the chicken basil pan fried dumplings (4 per order). The soup dumplings definitely satisfied our cravings but the dumplings stole the show. The dumplings were huge and each bite was a burst of perfectly savory flavors. We wanted to order more off the dim sum menu but were too full. I'll definitely be visiting to get my hands on some more dim sum when I'm in town again! read more

Hostess: We had a party of 9 dining on a Sunday evening for dinner. The hostess was able to accommodate our large party with no reservation. We were served water immediately and our hostess was very good about returning quickly to take our orders. She was busy working a lot of tables and was able to refill our waters and see if we needed any additional items. Interior: This is a pretty restaurant with wine bottles on display. There is a sushi bar in the main part of the restaurant. Food: The menu is quite eclectic array of Asian cuisines. We ordered Black Peppercorn Beef, Shredded Pork Pan Fried Noodle, and Shanghai pork soup dumplings. The entire table was provided with a bucket of rice to share. We requested that the black peppercorn beef to be served extra spicy. The beef had onions, peppers, jalapeno slices, and green onions. It had a nice flavor. The beef was of good quality and the crunch of the vegetables made the dish has good texture. The portion was very generous. The shredded pork pan fried noodle dish was bland. The texture of the noodles at first were nice and crunchy, but they got soggy very quick. The sauce had too much cornstarch and was goopy. The shredded pork concerned me, some bites of the dish tasted like shrimp, then chicken. I added some of hot sauce from the Shanghai pork soup dumplings to the shredded pork, but it did not help. The Shanghai pork soup dumplings had no flavor. If you want authentic Chinese food, this is not the place. Bathrooms: very clean read more

Went for an early lunch and it was not crowded at all. The dining room was nice and we were seated right away. I'll keep it short: we ordered 3 lunch entrees, 3 orders of dumplings, and egg rolls. We had 5 cups of tea and two Cokes for drinks. We remembered {after leaving} that we did not get one of the dumpling orders we paid for. The food was hot, and the taste was ok--nothing I'd rave about. We were charged a 20 percent tip. I did not see any sign that a tip of this amount would be added automatically. $112 for a lunch meal was insane. We were actually charged $2 per( very small) cup, so $10 for a small pot of tea that we did not finish. Why not charge tea by the pot instead of the cup. Kinda ripoff imo. The portions were on the small side as well. I won't be returning. read more

Food was excellent, service was rude. I have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. I tried to order something other than water to drink, but I was ignored by staff. After waiting 10 minutes for a menu, I needed the restroom, waitress was annoyed with my mother that I was not at HER beck and call when SHE bothered to take our order. Such a shame, I was looking forward to this place. Thx for nothing. We will not be back. read more

We loved New Fortune before it closed and had high hopes when we heard this place had the same owners, and were sorely disappointed. The quality was way off. Our order had a live worm in the lettuce. Super disgusting. The dishes we had before we noticed the worm were pretty mediocre. The dumplings, siu mai, and bao were rubbery, like they had been microwaved. The salt and pepper shrimp was not crispy and all. And clearly, the lettuce was rotten and unwashed. House of Three Gorges is probably the best option left for Chinese food in Austin. This place is not safe. Do not eat here. read more

If you like Asian food and have never tried dim sum this is a good place for that experience. They have a large menu aside from the dim sum which is only offered Saturday and Sunday during the lunch period. Keep in mind that those times tend to be quite busy. As with many Asian restaurants the items tend to be a bit pricey but the food quality has been good. Service is fairly attentive. read more

Today my cousin chose dim sum for her birthday brunch. I was thrilled to be able to try the place in person and not via Uber Eats. We had a bit of a rocky start, in that it took awhile for them to serve us water after we were seated. Then after the table next to us, who was seated after us, was served food was when I finally flagged down a waiter and asked to order. I would hate to think the reason we ignored was because part of our party was Black. I'm hoping we were benignly overlooked, but all other tables seemed to have prompt service. So who knows. The food was tasty and affordable. I'm open to trying them again and seeing if their service has improved. read more

I took my family out for dim sum here and honestly this is the most reasonably priced, authentic, and delicious dim sum in town. You don't have to sacrifice ambience either. It usually gets pretty busy during the weekends but you can get a normal "Chinese seafood food" restaurant meal on the weekdays. It's consistent and an Asian institution here in Austin. I hope it never goes out of business! read more

Awesome Chinese food! Their mushu pork is the best I've ever had. The pancakes are super fresh and soft. The Chinese broccoli is also very fresh and tasty. Service was super fast. We got the food less than 10 mins after ordering. The outdoor patio is beautiful but small so probably best for parties of 5 or fewer. We will be back to try their dim sum! read more

My wife and I delayed a visit to Jade for over a year. What a mistake that was. Jade epitomizes comfort and service while providing a lovely, upscale backdrop for outstanding food. We paid no more than we would have at any other local table-service Chinese restaurant, yet we felt pampered. Our first experience in Jade was for Sunday dim sum around 1:30pm. No line here, and no stale cart food, either. Instead, we were handed a dim sum menu, which featured an even mixture of ready-made and made-to-order items. The pricing was a wonderful surprise! $5 dim sum items at a well-manicured Chinese restaurant in West Austin? I'll take it. After only a minimal wait, food arrived fresh. We ordered Cha Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Buns), a dish that is usually reserved for just me. Unfortunately for my empty stomach, my wife enjoyed them as much as I did, which was a first for her in our 15 years together. The scallion pancakes were a perfect blend of light and savory, with an even-keel portion of onion that pleased everyone in my family, kids included. The Singapore noodles were spicier than the other dishes, as one should expect, but not at all uncomfortably so. I may order this dish every time. I love Southeast Asian noodle dishes, and Jade's version met my expectations. My children gobbled down the pork potstickers and chicken fried rice, a dish which had more protein than I had ever seen before. This was one of many pleasant surprises about Jade which quickly vaulted the restaurant to my Top 10 food experiences in Austin. Admittedly, our first visit to Jade had us ordering some of the more pedestrian Chinese and dim sum favorites, but in my view, this is the proper way to test any first visit at an Asian restaurant. Jade passed the test easily. Before we left, the manager, Michael, came to our table and made sure everything was to our liking. We discussed the restaurant and I got the sense that Jade is as much a labor of love for Michael and his brother-in-law as it is a business. As a parting gift, we were sent home with many sets of Jade's beautiful custom-made chopsticks. I know that brunch places are a dime a dozen in Austin. I know that Chinese places are, too. I think Jade is a top spot for anyone to try when seeking a low-key dining experience where service and comfort are paramount, and where the bill won't leave you cross-eyed. read more

Jade Restaurant - Custom-made jade chopsticks. No cheap bamboo here. - Asian Fusion Near Me - Austin, Texas

Bland, average Americanized Chinese food. It'll quell your Chinese craving but it's not worth going out of your way for. Ingredients seem fresh enough. Portions are large. Soup dumplings were fine but not great. Everything else (pan fried rice noodle with beef, dry green beans, veg egg roll) was tasty enough, but lacked the extra something that makes a meal stand out in a memorable way. No spice whatsoever. Probably a safe bet if you're feeding kids, but if you're trying to take the tastebuds on an adventure, look elsewhere. Better Chinese in Austin: Lin on West 6th for upscale dim sum, China Family Szechuan at Airport and Lamar if you like spice, Din Ho off 183, New Fortune and First China BBQ on N. Lamar for the most authentic Chinese, and for the BEST veggie egg rolls and stir-fried flat rice noodles: Tan My (which is a Vietnamese place) on Ohlen Rd. read more

Great Asian Fusion spot nestled in the hill country. Beautiful views and yummy food! Dim sum brunch was on point. Shrimp Shumai, pork dumplings (fav-Melt in your mouth delicious), and chicken basil dumplings. Pretty tasty dim sum for Austin! Tried quite a few items and our favorites were the shrimp and scallop dumplings, soup dumplings, and har gow. Came here looking for dim sum, especially after the closing of New Fortune, and wasn't satisfied. Not only is the dim sum menu very limited, it didn't taste particularly fresh, and not particularly flavorful. Soup dumplings were okay, but the pot stickers and siu mai left us pretty underwhelmed. Good: You get rice at no charge with most dishes, and the food was well packed and looked appropriate. Bad: Bland AF on every dish, not a single one with a memorable taste.
