    122. Beef with Tomato Chow Mein
    Jay C.

Despite some of the negative reviews, I still decided to give it a try. They were a little bit backed up (one front of house and one cook), but the food came out at decent times considering we ordered quite a bit. From the time we sat down til the time we left, it was a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes (average dine time). Everything we ordered was delicious! Seafood and tofu soup: 10/10 no additional sauce needed besides chili oil if you want it spicy and black pepper. Phoenix claws: 8/10 A little different from others, but was still good. It's not overly soggy and still had some chewy cartilage texture to it. (Yum) Soup dumplings: 9/10 Delicious and still had soup in it. I wish it was served with black vinegar and ginger, but soy sauce and chili oil will do. Beef and tomato chow mein: 8/10 not your typical chow mein, but more of noodles with tomato and beef gravy. 1/2 roasted duck: 8/10 good, but portion size was small. I feel like the duck that was served was smaller than your average duck. It was the same size as a game hen. Overall, the food was great. We plan on visiting again in the future. The service was great and the girl was very nice. The place reminds me of a whole in the wall restaurnt in China town that serves good Chinese food.

Mandarin fried Chicken, BBQ fried rice and sweet and sour pork

Had an amazing experience at Jade Garden and the food was on point. I have lived in Everett for quite some time born and raised here in Washington State and never before have I been to this Chinese restaurant and OMG what was I missing overall. The service and food was excellent as I had the Mandarin Chicken and sweet and sour pork dinner combination with BBQ pork fried rice, before the meal came with two lraens and an egg roll with wonton soup. Highly recommend this establishment. I would say it's the best Chinese food I've had in Everett.

This is one of the stellar individual combos -- the Chow Mein is epic

I have decided to make this my go-to Chinese restaurant -- why?? because service, hospitality and general ambiance. Every time I dine here, I get it all. There's just something about the overall friendly vibe that makes me feel like I've entered Cheers. I love the dim sum choices, as well as standard Chinese stuff. Their Chow Mein is stellar, as is their sticky rice dim sum item. The sticky rice is so filling, with the wonderful meat that's inside a glorious hug of sticky rice. I loved it so much, I gobbled it up without taking a pic! I had a medical issue the first time I came here, and they handled it with so much grace that I had to come back and eat there again and again and again...

Excellent food, extremely clean dining room, and super awesome friendly owners. Dim sum served all day, every day.. except Tuesday when they are closed. Hard-working family run businesses are the best. We will return here many times Thank you, Sue!

The food is ALWAYS fresh and always tasty! The owner is always friendly and always making sure everything is going well. Don't let the outside appearance of the place fool you! Not the most appealing outside but it's about the food! Inside is always clean and NEVER crowded but do t let that stop you from eating here. Most people do takeout here as you sit and eat, there is a non stop stream of takeout orders that is constant! The Shui Mai is HUGE and comes with 4 pieces rather than 3 like a lot of other Chinese restaurant. Dim Sum is served ALL DAY so it's great to dine here.

Gem hidden in plain sight! OMG the food was incredible. We wandered in to avoid the traffic and ordered the Family dinner (D) for 2. The sizzling rice soup at first looks like warm water with mushrooms, but winds up being this flavor bomb of shrimp, chicken, and the presentation worthy sizzling rice. The rest of the dishes were each amazing. I could go on and on. We were the only folks dining in, and were treated like royalty. Was really a huge treat. I'll be back.

I don't need a chef wildly experimenting with my siu mai, or dabbling with my baked hom bow. My analysis of Sun Sui Wah, very nice interior, ok service, solid food. Was it a few dollars more than similar fare in Seattle, yes. But I also didn't have to drive to Seattle, not to mention put up with the street spectacle that now exists in the International District. It gets 5 stars because it delivers as promised.

Would rather go to Diamond Bay, Tasty Szechuan, Royal Kitchen, (can see why they're busy and packed on a holiday weekday night and Sun Sui Wah is not) Went here for dinner for my grandma's 89th birthday with a party of 9 at 7pm. We ordered dishes typical of a 10 course meal including crab, Peking duck, live fish, rice, noodles, veggies, seafood, etc. The food was really good and didn't take too long to come out. Everything tasted good and we were all enjoying the family meal together and that's why I am giving 1 star because we will not be coming back. The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

That's my favorite kind of dim sum restaurant, and this place absolutely delivers. From the moment we sat down, the carts were rolling by nonstop, stacked with steamers and fresh plates. There's just something special about being able to see everything before you choose, it makes the whole experience feel lively and traditional. I was SO excited when I spotted taro puff on one of the carts. Not every dim sum restaurant carries it, which is tragic because it's easily one of my favorite dishes. These were perfect. The had a crispy, lacy exterior with that light, fluffy taro filling inside and a savory center. I immediately grabbed a plate and was prepared to eat the entire thing if no one else wanted to try it. The siu mai was solid and flavorful, the har gow had a nice translucent wrapper with juicy shrimp inside, and the chicken feet were especially good. They were very tender, well seasoned, and cooked just right. The steamed spareribs were another standout. They were super flavorful and not overly fatty. Overall, this is exactly what I want in a dim sum experience with the bustling atmosphere, carts rolling around, and all my favorite classics (taro puff!). If you love traditional cart style dim sum, this place is definitely worth a visit. Everything was so tasty.

We had to ask for water three separate times, including going up to the host stand because nobody checked on our table. When the water finally arrived, it had a strong musty taste that was unpleasant enough that none of us wanted to drink it. The service was equally disappointing. The staff seemed annoyed whenever my mother or aunt asked questions, and there were several instances where responses felt abrupt or dismissive. What made it more frustrating was seeing much friendlier interactions with surrounding tables. We never felt welcomed as guests. I understand automatic gratuity for larger parties, but the mandatory 20% gratuity felt difficult to justify given the level of service we received. Had tipping been left to our discretion, I would have left considerably less. The food also fell far below expectations, especially for the price point: * The walnut shrimp still had waste material visible in the tail. * The salt and pepper calamari was overwhelmingly salty, lacked pepper flavor, and came with burnt shallots. * The beef and broccoli was covered in a thick, gelatinous sauce with noticeable clumps of cornstarch. * Our party of six was given only two small bowls of rice to share. To make matters worse, I felt nauseous after the meal despite generally having a strong stomach. Overall, the combination of poor service, underwhelming food quality, and high prices made this a disappointing choice for what should have been a celebratory family meal.

I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

CHECK your bill here!!!!!!!!…read more We took our daughters from out of town for Sunday dim sum. Longtime family tradition!! And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!
