I've tried their drinks multiple times, but it's my first time visiting their actual location. I really really love their matcha here. The ratio of matcha to the other ingredients is perfectly curated to my taste. It doesn't taste like grass LOL. The banana cream matcha is mt favorite. Nothing too special with the ambiance inside. Overall, this is one of my go-to matcha spots.

The cutest shop in a little strip mall serving up the best hand whisked banana matcha lattes. You have to check it out. Such chill service. Seating inside but none outside!

Cafe phin for slow drip coffee

Was looking for Vietnamese inspired coffee like Da Vien in SoCal and stumbled across Jade and Java. What drew me was the banana and sesame Vietnamese coffee, which isn't something sold at most coffee and boba shops in the peninsula. Ordered the pistachio and sesame Vietnamese coffee. The coffee is strong! Can customize ice and sweetness levels too. Parking can be a bit tight as the lot is shared among many other shops and it's in the middle of Park Merced so can be a bit difficult to find. Ordering was a breeze and if you have Snackpass, you can earn rewards by continuing to shop there. At 7-7.50 a drink, it's about in line with other boba/drinks now so I think it's good value. Especially bc the coffee is strong! Will come back to try other coffees and their matcha drinks too. Matcha drinks look to be handmade upon ordering (not mass produced ahead of time, which is nice to see)

Ordered a matcha with a banana cream topping. It was pretty tasty - I haven't had too many like this so I don't have a ton of comparisons, but I would come back for another. Service was friendly and they have a nice clean bathroom. Located in a strip mall close to SFSU so lots of parking.

Very cute little coffee shop near the SFSU campus, and open late, until 7 PM! They specialize in Vietnamese coffee and matcha drinks with unique cream toppings, and also have some fruit tea options. You order at one of two kiosks in the front. There are small tables and a bench for seating, and a bathroom in the back. I could see this being a nice place to catch up with friends over drinks! I got a banana cream matcha with oat milk ($0.80) and an extra shot of matcha ($3). Everyone else got Vietnamese coffee and between all of us we tried the salted cream, banana cream, and black sesame cream coffees. I loved my matcha and the banana cream had such strong banana flavor. I'm not sure if I would've liked it as much without the additional shot of matcha, but I'll have to try it next time. I also thought it was a pretty reasonable price for a matcha latte, starting at $7.25 - some places are getting up to $10+. I'm not a coffee person, but heard that the coffees were strong and flavorful. Seems like a really nice addition to the area, especially for students. Would be even better if they could partner with a local bakery to offer some pastries, and a few more non-caffeinated options since there's only one on the current menu.

Such a cute cafe along the string of other stores in a plaza! I ordered the Banana Matcha Latte which was delish! I'm glad that there were actual banana chunks in the drink which gave the drink a nice additional texture. The foam of the latte was also perfectly frothed. Service was quick and the store was clean. Will definitely be back to try their other drinks!

sea salt coffee and creme brulee matcha

I really enjoyed their sea salt Vietnamese coffee (ca phe muoi). I have been looking for this since coming back from my Vietnam trip. It's easily found in Orange County; less of a common offering in SF Bay Area, so I was happy to see that this place had it. I got one with less ice and regular sweetness, which I thought was too sweet but was better after the ice melted a bit. I also got one no ice and less sweet and I added some milk when I got home to thin out the strong coffee a bit. However, this sacrifices on the salted flavor. I think my ideal would be regular sweet and regular ice as intended. We also tried their creme brulee matcha which was fine. Not a super strong matcha flavor and leaned more watery than creamy. It would appease if you had a craving for a matcha latte though. Could not really make out the creme brulee flavor so I would maybe just do a regular matcha latte or another one of their flavored matcha drinks. This is located near SF state. There is a parking lot available. Somewhat limited seating, but I'm not sure how busy they get.

I've been here twice within the span of a week! I love how Jade & Java is a straightforward cafe that delivers on their drinks while also having a cute, unique aesthetic. I ordered the black sesame matcha both times I went...the black sesame cream top is just too delicious! It does make the drink more creamy for those who prefer something less of that. I took a sip of their vietnamese coffee and that tastes great as well, I would definitely order that in the future. Service was friendly and fast. I really like the car/minimal decor they have going on in there with the natural lightning and plants. It's located in a plaza so there's convenient parking available.

Small spot located right by the Park Merced housing. We ordered an iced matcha latte, iced black sesame matcha latte, and an iced Vietnamese coffee. Drinks were ok, not amazing but not bad. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back unless I'm in the area, but it's a decent spot.

matcha with coconut

I found out about this place from my friend a while ago when she came here for a car event. It's been on my list of places to try ever since. I finally stopped by over the weekend with my friend, and we got some tea and hung out at the café for a while. I got the matcha with coconut, which I was excited to see they had on their menu. The matcha was really high quality, and it was perfect mixed with the coconut milk. A solid 5/5 drink.

Heard about this place through social media and decided to stop by on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy, and we got our drinks pretty quickly. The matcha itself was good, creamy, smooth, and had a strong, authentic matcha flavor. The cream toppings were a bit inconsistent. The crème brûlée topping didn't fully cover the surface of the drink. It was mostly a small patch in the center over the ice and only lightly torched. That drink also didn't reach the top of the cup, and I thought the cream would fill the rest, but it didn't like the black sesame topping did. Flavor wise, everything tasted as expected, and the matcha was definitely well made. I'd come back to try their Vietnamese coffee and other matcha drinks next time. I can see this spot becoming really popular, especially being so close to SFSU. There are a few seating options inside, so it's also a nice place to hang out and relax for a bit.

I like their matcha, ordered strawberry matcha with an extra shot and I really felt the difference! The banana Vietnamese coffee is good. I like their Vietnamese coffee but the banana cream sits at the top. You can leave it and try it or mix it but either way its a mild flavor. Wish there was an option to order more banana cream. Despite ordering at the machine, the baristas were soooo friendly... So much friendlier than anyone in the area... I love the cute girlies who were working on the day I went. Ambiance is clean and modern. I would go again, but I assume there is no reliable parking at peak times. It won't stop me though! Since I ordered both of strawberry matcha and banana Vietnamese coffee, when i finished both halfway, I mixed it and made some delicious slop. I think it was fun to drink but the caffeine was so strong I was tweaking out. 10/10 would do this all again

Cute new cafe hidden in park merced. They offer an extensive menu of specialty matchas and vietnamese coffee too. When you walk in, there are 2 self order kiosks to greet you. The issue I had was choosing a drink. I ended up getting the salted cream matcha, but I want to come by and try the creme brulee and black sesame cream matchas. Alas I had to control myself and did not order 2 drinks this time. The matcha was good, it tasted like something I would make at home. The salted cream was good. If they offered a bigger size I would probably order it, I drank my drink so fast. Will be back soon, parking was fairly easy and drink came out quickly.

The drink took about 25-30 minutes to be prepared so don't come in a hurry!! I inserted the straw into the bottom of my cup and sucked. Nothing came out. I had to suck with more strength, due to the thick consistency of the drink. Finally, a gelatinous, slimy and sort of sweet substance came out of the tip of the straw. You do have to work for it due to the thickness of the drink, it's not liquidy. The actual matcha had a strong and smooth taste but to be honest was a little too concentrated which made it a bit astringent. This drink was truly a journey for the mouth. Usually a drink is about taste but this one was much more about tactility, or at least that's how it felt. Unfortunately the substance seemed to leave a strange metallic, unpleasant aftertaste that lasted for quite a while after finishing the drink. Texture: interesting taste:2.5 , it was new to me but i wouldn't have it again aftertaste : gross The next drink ordered was some sort of blue mango coconut concoction. Every menu item had a grandiose name so i'm not sure the exact one but it was a mango coconut slush. They white jelly substance was back and taking charge in the bottom of the drink. Along with the strange substance was a plethora of white tasteless balls. Not like traditional boba, but not bad. the flavor of the drink was good, a bit too coconuty for my liking but it was fine. The real problem was the radio of (balls + substance) : drink... way too high! i barley had any sips that had more drink then texture additives. The taste was good, but texture was off, and my stomach was not too happy after ingesting the whole thing in about 10 minutes.

I've had Cherry Blossom Bakery egg tarts before and really enjoyed them! The crust is perfectly flaky and the custard is lightly sweetened. SO YUMMY!!! Great as a dessert or snack! I've had my share of egg tarts and I think the ones Cherry Blossom makes are one of my favorites in the city. The lady who helped me was nice and efficient. There were many other delectable pastries in the display case, but I intentionally came for egg tarts. I'll have to come back and try other things, but I would still include egg tarts! I ordered a few egg tarts this time. I ate one fresh, but stored some in the refrigerator for a few days in an air tight container. They still looked good after 2 days! Amazing!! Many times I would do the same with other egg tarts from other bakeries and the next day, you would see a crack in the middle, wrinkly custard, or the custard would peel away from the crust. But no problem with these! They store well and taste heavenly! Oh, and they were $2 each. 5 stars!!!

Given that, it doesn't escape me that it took just a matter of months for my next visit to happen again. No real rhyme or reason as to why it didn't take nearly as long this time, but I'd be lying if I said that the Ube Halo Halo we tried didn't have something to do with it. While it ultimately wasn't what we ordered, the memory of what we had definitely got us excited to try more when my friends suggested coming here! Compared to the location over on Geary (and the one in Westminster, for what it's worth), this Bambu is better in just about every way. Sure, it helps that it's still relatively new (they opened about eight months ago?), but it's undoubtedly cleaner, feels a whole lot brighter, is a bit more conveniently located, and, most significantly, has way more parking available nearby. As for the menu, it had pretty much all of the usual offerings that you'd expect to find at any of their locations - che desserts, milk tea, fruit teas, waffles, macarons, and Vietnamese coffee. -- MANGO HALO HALO - Green Jello Base with Coconut Meat, Coconut Milk, Red Tapioca, Jackfruit, Egg Pudding, Crystal Boba, Mango Jelly, Pandan Jelly, Nata de Coco, and Topped with Mango Ice Cream While it didn't impress quite like the Ube Halo Halo did, this was still really good. Between all of the mangos (vs ube) and jellies, this felt a lot fruitier and lighter. However, it also didn't feel quite as creamy as the Ube one did, which I kind of missed. -- VIETNAMESE EGG COFFEE Sadly, the coffee is a pre-made mix, so they weren't able to modify the sweetness, but I appreciate that they added plain coffee to help dilute it. Even then, though, this ended up being really sweet. Loved how creamy the egg foam made this, though. Despite how I genuinely like this particular Bambu, I don't know how often I would come back since I don't typically crave che desserts and other places usually come to mind first when I think of where to get milk tea. However, should the urge or occasion arise to go to a Bambu again, I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this one, especially so that I can give their Yoonami Drinks, Smoothies, and Ube Mochi Waffle a try!
