So happy I contacted Jacob! The day after Christmas, I was cleaning up a huge mess in the kitchen. I turned on the garbage disposal and after about 2 seconds, the disposal and the dishwasher turned off. I assumed it was a breaker, but after checking everything I know how to do with no luck, I searched yelp for an electrician. Because of his super high reviews, I sent Jacob a message. He replied within 10 minutes, and even though I let him know I didn't consider this an emergency, especially the day after Christmas, he let me know that depending on the cause, it could be a dangerous issue and he would be over within the hour. He was on time and found the cause of the problem and fixed it. It was a melted down component in the outlet, so it actually could've been dangerous. Unfortunately, it had fried my dishwasher, but he still tried for well over an hour to fix it. At least I got my disposal back, and the dangerous situation no longer existed. While he was there, he suggested I consider a ring doorbell and let me know that he installs those all the time. I just happened to have one that I hadn't gotten around to installing yet, and so he offered to do it right then. All of this to say, Jacob is a super nice guy and sincerely wants to take care of his customers. I felt like his prices were fair as well. I have a few jobs in mind for the near future and I will definitely contact Jacob for those! read more

There are so many cowboys out there. So when teams come to your home who are normal, nice people, it's such a relief. Brilliant job done. Garage door guy gave me their card as a referral. I needed two light fixtures replaced -- one inside, one outside -- and they came, as promised, within two days of my receiving their quote (which is what I requested). The outdoor fixture was particularly troublesome, because it was up so high and in a cramped space, but they sized up the situation, figured out an approach, and successfully swapped it out. I was impressed with their expertise, knowledge and experience. Jacobs Ladder installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage for charging my EV and did a fine job at a great price within the timeframe they estimated. They have a lot of experience installing these for Tesla charging, and so knew to install the outlet upside-down to allow the Tesla charging cable to hang down instead of awkwardly pointing up. Jacob got to us within 15 minutes of me messaging him over Yelp. I had shut off a breaker to half my house because an outlet was showering a bedroom in sparks. He was able to come at a time that accommodated my family's work and school schedules. His price was exactly in line with what I expected to pay (I know electricians' value as the stepdaughter of a 40 year IBEW member). He brought Neil, who actually had worked on my house previously it turned out. They changed out the faulty outlet, then replaced two other outlets that had strange stories to them (one had been taped and painted over by a previous owner of the house, the other was a GCFI outlet in my kitchen that had never worked). They were professional and fast. He was not the lowest quote I got, but when someone undervalues their work, I don't trust them. They've told me almost every day for the past 2 weeks that they will "send it today" and the first five times, I believed him. Taking payment and not rendering service is considered theft.
