I will call them again. I had an emergency. EMPWR answered the phone, showed up about two hours later, did the job right, and quickly got it inspected by the city as required for this job. Their communication was friendly and thorough. They also contacted me when interruptions in their schedule occurred, and we problem-solved together. They came back the same evening to address an undetected bad breaker. Since the electricity was off when they did their earlier repairs, there was no way to detect that the surge had fried that breaker. Their goal was to get my power back on. The interaction felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. He also attempted to upsell me on other projects I had never contacted him about. Overall, he came across as pushy and more focused on upselling than on providing honest, respectful service. Work is ok, but communication is HORRIBLE. The first time I had them out to my rental property, they didn't show and there was no communication. Owner tried to make excuses but bottom line was he knew they weren't gonna show and he didn't inform me. Owner seemed apologetic (especially after he was concerned about a bad review) so I had them come out a second time to finish the job. Owner texted me he had a cancellation and could they come that day. I responded 20 min later that was ok (had to check w tenants). Never heard anything back. At the end of the day I texted to see how it went and he said they didn't go out after all. Actually did show up the next day and did the work. They found a part that needed to be replaced. He said he'd install it for "a couple dollars" (on top of the $675 we had already agreed to). "A couple dollars" ended up being $65. Not a huge deal, and he did end up knocking it down some, but it's just another example of poor communication. I won't be using them again. read more

In a recent windstorm we lost a tree branch that took out our electrical service. After the utility company retrieved the downed service line they informed us that it couldn't be reconnected because of the damage due to the impact of the branch. We needed an electrician and we needed one fast. I called several companies for estimates to get the work done. Eugene with EMPWR Electric took my call and immediately made time for us. He and his crew arrived first, made an estimate, and were able to begin work before any of the other larger companies could. Eugene was friendly, personable, and talked us through the entire process.
