Great service and reasonably priced. We bought a house and had a number of items from the inspector's report. We also wanted to do some ergonomic updates, recessed lighting, etc. We got an estimate from Mr. Sparky, who more or less confirmed everything from the inspector. Which is an issue, since inspectors are often too enthusiastic. The property is 36 years old, and a number of things that would violate current code are grandfathered. Mr. Sparky didn't seem too interested in that. We ended up with a low-end quote of $15K and high-end of $20K. Ace Electric brought a much more pragmatic look at things, and came in at a low of $5K and a high of $10K. The extra $5K being a major rewiring of the main panel to support a higher amperage. Fair enough. Overall, very professional assessment and the repair crew were sharp. They are going to be my new go-to electrician. read more

This company is amazing because of their amazing team. I couldn't be more pleased with their work. I needed to install a 240V outlet in my garage to plug a Level 2 charger for an EV and it was not a trivial installation because the main panel is located on the other side of the house. The team was awesome at routing the large gauge wires through the attic and installing the outlet in an ideal location where I can reach the charging port of the car. They were super competent, skilled, friendly and fast. I was delighted by their work and interactions. Their charge was very reasonable considering the complexity of the installation. I'd recommend DJ and his team without hesitation for any electrical work. read more

This business is absolutely one of the most genuine and pleasant ones I've hired. They hung two outdoor fans and replace three outdoor wall lamps in front with some I had ordered online . It's veteran run and the prices are extremely competitive. They do great work but most importantly they show up on time and don't make excuses like other companies I've worked with . I recommend them to all the people asking for an electrician on Nextdoor app in my neighborhood because I know they won't make me look bad and will deliver what they promise . Give them a call for any electrical needs . read more

Absolutely thrilled with Ace Electric. They did a wonderful job replacing my old circuit breaker box with a new one, adding a whole home surge protector and outlet for a generator, and installed energy monitors so I can now see where all that energy I'm being charged for is being used to help me cut down on my electric bill. I got five quotes for the job and Ace Electric had the lowest bid and did more work than the other quotes were for. I'll never need to ask anyone for a recommendation for an electrician again. read more

Nothing gets your attention like the words "fire hazard" but thats exactly what brought us to searching for a master electrician. We recently had our siding replaced and the electrical box hasn't been re-attached to our house AND our AC unit had tripped the breaker and burnt out. We received Carl's # from a family friend of 30 yrs & within the hour he was at our home. Not only was he able to address the issue and assure us that all was well after a few changes, he corrected the issue the AC company caused and prevented even further problems by teaching the tech we needed different amperage. Talk about being the right person with the right tools to get TWO jobs done. We certainly won't be using anyone else moving forward! read more

The guys did an AMAZING job!! We had a lot of work done including running wire an adding switches, new light fixtures and an electric fireplace to a bathroom we enlarged, adding a light fixture and wiring for a wine fridge in the kitchen, installing a ceiling fan in our living room which has a 24ft ceiling. They were always patient, kept the work area very clean and just a pleasure to have around! They are also very reasonably priced and came up with some creative ways to help us solve problems. We will only use Ace! read more

Just had the guys come out to install 3 light fixtures yesterday. They are very reasonable compared to others. Others wanted to charge at least $100-$150 per hour and said the estimated time to install each pendant light was 30 to 40 minutes. Yikes! That's around $300, but ACE charged me $50 per light fixtures since they did not have to relocate wires. They've been in business for 40 years. Very surprised that the do not have many yelp reviews. Definitely call them. I will post before and after picture of the light fixtures. I'm having them come out again to install my light fixture in the powder room once it arrives and put in dimmers which is only $12 per dimmer once I get it at home depot. Thank you guys! read more

Ace/Carl grossly overcharged my job for materials and labor. Not sure why and is disappointing given their previous decent reviews. 2 stars for showing up and completing the work. Minus 3 stars for gouging. read more

Great experience working with Ace Electric today! Messaged the business using Yelp and received a quick response. They arrived and installed my Ring doorbell quickly and at a good rate. Would highly recommend! read more

Having problems with a number of electrical connections, including the main circuit beaker panel, I called Ace Electric based on the very high recommendations on Yelp. I was not disappointed. Master Electrician Carl asked for some details on my electrical problems. He said he would be over that afternoon to take a look. Well, he did a lot more than that! He fixed the main problem and then tackled three other serious difficulties I had, including outdoor post lights and other circuits. He was extremely knowledgeable, fixing everything with expertise. In fact, he had his son with him that he was mentoring this summer. His intricate detail in "teaching" was so interesting that I found myself following along to watch everything. Being a "Master" is more that just a title, and Carl demonstrated that in everything he did. Carl deserves all five stars and more. read more

The ace team did a fantastic job installing two pendants over our kitchen island. They showed up on time and got the job done much quicker than I was expecting. The team at ace are true professionals who know their craft well. Highly recommend and will be calling them again for any electric work. read more

My boyfriend and I refer to Carl and his team as "wizards". Their knowledge and service was.top notch and they went above and beyond to help fix our issue when our home warranty company sent out a hack. Thank you again, Carl! read more

Eden and DJ did an awesome job after the ice storm of February 2023. They were here when they said they would be here. We had to have our meter mounted back to our house after it was pulled off by a branch on the power line. They worked quick and diligently to get done while the power company (PEC) was here to get my power back up after 6 days and 9 hours. They are great - I told them that going forward they are my guys when I need electrical work. read more

I called Ace Electric on a cold Monday morning after being informed by a HVAC repair man that I needed to replace the breaker for my furnace. Even though Carl had other appointments, he was able to come by after lunch and replace the breaker. I had called another electrician before Ace Electric and they said they could fit me in in February (a month away)! Carl explained what he was doing, which I appreciated, and did a good job. read more

Carl and his partner were so great. Honest and straight forward. Couldn't get many to return my calls. These guys will always have my allegiance! read more

I can't say enough good things about Carl and Ace Electric. This man knows his stuff! While making dinner a couple of weeks ago I overloaded a circuit in our kitchen (old house, built in 1951), and could not fix the problem by resetting the breakers; we tried every single one. Carl, who is a master electrician, came over and very thoroughly searched for the problem, located it, and fixed it all for an extremely reasonable price in under an hour. He even installed an outlet in my spare bathroom, where there previously was none, while he was here! I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician. read more

We just had Carl's team come out to our house to install two bathroom exhaust fans. They were incredibly helpful, on time and pleasant to work with. They were able to squeeze in an additional ask from us as well as answered all of my questions. I cannot recommend this company enough and love knowing a good electrician to refer my friends and family to and use again in the future! read more

I was referred to Carl by my real estate agent. After being in my house a couple weeks, I decided to give him a call about putting up a couple electrical outlets on the wall for a TV that was to be mounted there the following week. After talking with him on the phone, we set something up for later in the week. I was not at home when his son arrived, but my wife talked with him and told him where we wanted the outlets. She said he was friendly and from what I saw after I got home, did a great job. The TVs are on the wall and the outlets worked perfectly and the job looks clean. The real reason I wanted to leave a five star review is because the way Carl handles problems. There was some miscommunication in the initial phone call with Carl. The way Carl handled it and acted like a professional was the reason why I'll be referring him to anyone I know that needs an electrician. Carl and his son run a top notch operation! read more

Ace Electric is very professional and does quality work at a reasonable price with exceptional customer service! We recently had them do several electrical projects including where they remounted and replaced outlets in our kitchen as part of a remodel. With COVID-19, we were delayed in getting our backsplash completed for a month after Ace Electric did the initial electrical work and as we needed the outlet covers custom cut...Ace Electric recommended allowing the backsplash installation to complete so it would be just right. A month later...they actually came back out with no trip charge just to custom cut and fit the outlet covers....very impressed! read more

Remodeled kitchen and had the guys from Ace Electric put in a new electric panel and 5 electric outlets. They were very professional, efficient, and reasonable. They worked with my contractor and did everything they said they would do in a timely and responsible manner. Margaret N. read more

Called with an issue hanging a light fixture with an old electrical box. He said he could come out but to tell him what was going on and maybe he could walk me thru the problem. Text him a pic and he figured out a easy solution over the phone. Can't beat that type of service! read more

Carl and his crew installed 12 can lights for me, a fan, and two outdoor fixtures. They were professional, efficient and provided great customer service. I love working with Carl because I know he will give me a quote up front - none of this hourly business where you don't know what the price will be. He's old school, he's good, and he's the only guy I'll call if I need an electrician. read more

Carl does a great job and takes his time to do it. Had him replace an outdoor breaker for a furnace and give some pointers on a few upcoming projects. He is courteous, returns calls, and communicates well. read more

Ace is honest and knowledgeable. The lights and outlets in my bathroom stopped working. I checked the breaker and even replaced the GFCI outlet thinking that went bad but still no luck. I called Ace Electric to schedule an electrician. The person that answered the phone suggested that given the age of the home, I check all the other GFCI outlets near the bathroom - other bathrooms, garage, etc. Found out it was the upstairs bathroom GFCI outlet that had tripped. I reset it and it worked like a charm! I appreciate Ace's willingness to help out and more importantly, their honesty in not taking advantage of the issue. I'll definitely go back to them for a few other projects I have. read more

Ace Electric is absolutely the best electrical service we've used in years. This really is as good as it gets for residential electrical!!! Thank you Carl read more

Not only were Ace Electric the best electricians we've dealt with in 30 years in Austin, but they might also be the best service contractor, period (Austin's Wildlife Removal is tough competition in this regard, however). I just needed to replace two fluorescent fixtures with two LED fixtures, but one electrician who's done good work for us in the past quoted me a cost of over $500 to do the work. Needless to say, Ace was significantly cheaper. But price was really the least impressive aspect of this job. They arrived exactly on time on a Friday afternoon - when does that ever happen with contractors in the middle of the day? - and they were done in less than one hour. We almost don't want to recommend these guys, they are so good - we feel like keeping them all to ourselves. So... you're welcome! You won't be disappointed. read more

Lightning struck our house last night and although we didn't have a lot of damage, we wanted to make sure that all of our circuits, plugs, and breakers were working properly. I called several places many didn't answer but I didn't want to leave a message so when Ace actually answered the phone, I was thrilled. They came out within an hour and did diagnostics and told us what needed to be fixed and what was OK. I really appreciated their quick service and honest suggestions. read more

I found Ace Electric thanks to Yelp's conversation asking about an electrician. Carl from Ace Electric just came over and finished the job. I had a short in the house that I couldn't figure out what went wrong. Others charge $150 and Carl did the job within the service call price. Almost half of the other guys!!!! I called him and he showed up within 20 minutes! Very professional and trustworthy. Carl is a master electrician of 25 years and been working in Austin area for 35 years!! I gave Carl a call given the great Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. He said he'd come the next afternoon and came exactly when he said he would. We had power go out in three different rooms of our house and called Carl's team to help us find and fix the problem due to his rankings on Yelp. He was very responsive - he called us before he showed up, found and fixed the problem quickly, and explained the issue to us clearly. He and his partner hunted down the issue to a single switch that had gone out in our attic and fixed it up like new. I'm a local plumber and have known Carl and his son DJ for a few years now. Every time I've ever needed an electrician I call these guys, they do it all. They are very responsive, reliable, incredibly honest and fair, they always do a good job. Most recently we were remodeling a bathroom for a customer when we accidentally cut a wire in half which caused us to loose power to the bathroom. Dj came out with his 2 apprentices Eden and Trinni, they were awesome, problem fixed promptly and professionally. This is the only company I plan on using for all the times I need a professional electrician and I will always refer these guys to my friends, family and customers because I have no doubt they will do a great job and take care of the customer. Thanks again Carl ! read more

Called Carl early Monday morning and asked for an afternoon appointment. Was very professional and said he wasn't certain he could make it out but would try. This was a minor issue but I am certain that if anything major comes up Ace will be the first one I call. read more
