I had an emergency situation with my custom velvet sofa cover and Jack saved the day!!! My Jack Russell decided to act out and pee'd on it! I frantically rushed to Yelp to find a dry cleaning shop that could help me. Three dry cleaners later I went to Jacks and not only was he friendly and calmed me down but he did an amazing job cleaning my cover. He was great at troubleshooting the problem and I'm happy to have him as a resource should I have any other cleaning emergencies or anything else. They have a customer loyalty card where every 5 visits gets you 10% off your bill. They do alterations, repairs (loose buttons, zippers, etc.) for a reasonable charge. I had a deal on the back of my Von's coupon for 25% off my order. Needing to dry clean a lot at once and seeing that they prided on being non toxic and environmentally friendly, I figured why not. It's not too much further from my house than another place I had tried. My 14 pieces (4 ties, a vest and the rest shirts) were done within two days. When I went to pick them up, they were down two people and my order had just been finished. Some other folks were in there huffing because they were not as quick as they wanted to be, but I could see they were busting their asses. I wasn't in a rush and I could see they were trying to remedy the situation of being short staffed. There's also a sign that shows all of what they believe in, which I could get behind. They are pricey, but I feel like they have a good team and I dig their values. read more

These guys are great. Seriously the nicest people and so professional. I actually worked on the environmental policies to ban toxics from conventional dry cleaning. Jack's is a great green cleaner. Good green cleaning takes the right equipment but also the right technique. They do green cleaning very well here. I highly recommend this cleaner. I'ver been with Jack's Cleaners exclusively ever since I moved to Pasadena in early to mid-2000's. I did try a couple of other cleaners around that time, but none of them came up to the standard that Jack's did and has continued to do. Something I appreciate about Jack is that if you have a difficult cleaning job on an item of clothing, he will be perfectly frank about whether it can be done or not--no false promises. Jack has a disarming sense of humor and is always good for a chuckle, especially on Saturday mornings when I come in. But he's also thoroughly professional and very experienced in the trade. Jack's father does alterations, and does them well. I gather Jack learned much of the trade from his dad, so in that sense it's very much a family business. They can also do shoe repair and polishing (sent out), and their turnaround time on all work is excellent. There's a loyalty card that is handy for when you bring in a very large collection to be done. When you go in, buy a couple of their green reusable garment bags that double as a handy laundry hamper. They're much more environmentally friendly than the standard plastic bag coverings, which I hope will one day be banned. My boi Harry is Jack's assistant who moves so fast around the store he's like a blur. He's an ultra-cool guy with a pragmatic outlook on life, a wry humor, and a ferocious appetite for pizza, which he just burns off like a racehorse. I like going in there and joking around with Harry, who always welcomes customers with a pleasant smile. He seems to have periscopic vision and somehow has my clothes ready as soon as I pull into the parking lot. Not sure how he does that. I tend to be loyal to one place once I'm happy with it, so will probably be going to Jack's as long as I live in the area. read more

I have consulted with Jack's employees a couple times on wedding dresses I am looking to clean, alter, or purchase and they have given me their honest and helpful opinions- going out of their way to do everything they can to give me the most helpful information possible- even when it means they might miss out on my business! Their store is bright and clean- even the fitting room is well maintained and clean (unlike most dry-cleaning fitting rooms I have been in), and the employees are astoundingly positive and friendly. I just left Jack's cleaners and picked up my dress that was altered which took about a week. My complaint isn't about how the dress is fixed, but rather how I was treated by the owner "Jack". While the polite young employee Harut was writing up the order slip, Jack rudely barges in (mind you while he is on a phone call with phone on one ear ) and claims there was much more work done and the cost Harut wrote is wrong. While his employee states the same identical work on the dress was done, he stared raising his voice at me. After a few minutes of him talking down to me, he said accept this as a donation and Merry Christmas. I was so insulted by his comment that I will never step a foot in this place again. We have both laundry (my polos and slacks) and dry cleaning (my wife's blouses etc.) done here and I couldn't be happier. Harry is a hoot and still manages to get me out in a hurry, with a smile on my face. At our old cleaners, it was a chore: they weren't ready, the credit card machine was broken, whatever. Eventually it got to the point where we looked around, and found Jack's, and I'm sorry I didn't change sooner: my clothes would have looked nicer sooner and I would have been happier. I've been going to Jack's for alterations for about a year now and I've always gotten an excellent fit and been provided great service. Jack and Harry are so nice and I'm always happy to see them when I walk through the door. The people there take very accurate measurements and are very understanding and do their best to help achieve what you're looking for. They tell you exactly what they are planning to do in order to tailor your clothes and give a good estimate as to how long it will take and what the prices will be. They tailored my denim jacket, which required very heavy alterations (shortening and slimming sleeves and the body) and I got it back within 5 days. I've never had a better fitting jacket before! The prices here are ludicrous. On my second visit I questioned the charges and found that I was charged $9.89 to have a silk shirt cleaned and pressed and $8.99 for a plain cotton shirt. The most I have ever paid for a regular shirt is $2.50 and for a silk shirt, $6.00. The owner told me that he had quoted all his prices to me on my first visit. This isn't true. But I will accept partial blame for not asking. I'm not saying they don't do good work. I would probably recommend them to George Clooney, but for the average person the prices are outlandish. read more

My wife has been using this company for 6 months . She drops off my white shirts for work on Thursday and like to pick it up on Tuesday at 5 pm . Just today my wife was there 5min before 5 pm the owner was so mean to her This asshol* tells my wife you are early for pick up and my says Ok I will hang around and the owner told my wife you know we have 1000 other people to help out your not the only one . I will never ever send my wife to that place . Who are you going to say you have 1000 people to take care of if you can't handle it close the shop down. The only place I go for dry cleaning and alteration. They've never faced any trouble or difficulty whenever I had dropped off items with the toughest and complex stains such as dried out glue in the past. They have also altered a pair of pants that are not the easiest ones as far as alterations go. 100% satisfaction guaranteed along w/ exceptional attitude and friendly service. My Husband and I have been taking our clothes to Jack for over 10 years. He does an excellent job. I usually don't even have to worry about pointing out any spots, they're carefully look over each item and try to remove all spots. Jack will also sow buttons back on. They also do alterations. The prices I think have creapt up over the years, but that's the same everywhere. Jack also has a loyalty card that gives you discount and if you're lucky to get one of his coupons from Vons that will give you 10% and sometimes 15%. I'm using this dry leaner every week since I moved to Altadena last year. They are friendly and very reliable. They always keep their promised date, and everything is perfectly clean. If they find a problem with a short or pants, they put a little note to your stuff and describe what the issue is and you can let them repair or fix it.
