In a nutshell: This dry cleaner is not suitable for designer items or those who are expect sophisticated valet service. I don't have time to argue with a dry cleaner sorry. More details: My concierge building offered Jack's as the cleaning service so i thought I would give them a try. They cleaned most of my regular items ok but once I started sending designer items things went downhill quickly. $900 fine knit Bottega shirt returned with lots of snags. The owner/ manager literally called to blame me for purchasing the top and Bottega Veneta for making it. I found many things that were said to me to be inappropriate but in the end he offered to replace or pay for the shirt so I decided to give them another try for the sake of convenience. My next order they called before cleaning to accuse me of previously damaging EVERY item I sent. This is ridiculous as every item was worn once or twice and never previously dry cleaned or washed. He said a pair of YSL raw silk shorts was stiff not silky so I must have previously washed them (umm raw silk is stiff sir) and a Jacquemus top was puckering so I must have previously washed it... ummm no it's cut that way it's the design. Fantasy tweed jacket has snags ... ummm it's fantasy tweed sir the nature of the fabric is textured ... a Magda Butrym dress has stains under the arms ummm ok I wear sunscreen during the summer and it usually gets everywhere... This just made it clear that they are not proficient or comfortable working with designer brands or fabrics. No biggie I told them to cancel the cleaning and send everything back. To top it off the owner/manager has an aggressive, abrasive, defensive and inappropriate style of communication that was uncomfortable for me. I was nervous to take their calls! I don't have time for drama from a dry cleaner. I simply need a dry cleaner who knows how to care for my items and has professional customer service. I was comfortably spending at least $50-$100 there per week but I won't return. I will talk with the building manager about offering a more appropriate dry cleaner. Note: I'm scared to read the aggressive response that is almost certain to follow this review!!! Oh well...I will just use it to make my case for a new dry cleaner at the building. This review is long overdue. But better late than never. The owner was beyond accommodating and nice! I came in a day before my nephews wedding with a formal dress to be altered. I thought it was going to be impossible because everyone else said no. But I called ahead panicked and this kind man said "bring it in". I rushed over almost in tears and he took care of me! This place does a great job dry cleaning clothes and I love that they're a mom and pop shop with excellent service, but they started charging inordinate amount for dry cleaning and stopped giving me the price when I dropped clothing off so these astronomical charges came as a surprise. They also charged me for fixing things I never asked to be fixed. Please be more forthcoming with your pricing and take into account people may be on a budget in this crazy economic times and not want extra, surprise charges. read more

Bad pricing. Its 12 dollars to dry clean a single shirt. The guy's claim was "iNflAtIoN". Too bad I'm actually an analyst. The current CPI index is at 8% for the trailing 12 months. This dude claimed a $5 to $12 dollar increase per shirt. Thats not 8% Einstein. TLDR: Go some where else for the same service for a cheaper price. This dude doesn't post price anywhere. Gauges people who walks in and gives them a random jacked up price. NEVER COMING BACK. Next morning update: all of my dress shirt's collar stays are missing from ALL of my shirt's collar. I've known Jack for over 12 years now, and I've been going to him all this time for my dry cleaning and alteration needs. Whenever I go see him and his staff (including his dad and Harod), it's always a 15+ min visit; the first few minutes is just catching up and hanging out, like friends you see once a month. This is not a unique case. He has the same relationship with all his customers from what I can tell. We're moving away, and as we were packing up, we came across my wife's wedding dress which we had forgotten to get cleaned. Our wedding was over 3 years ago, and it was a rainy day. So the train was dragged through not just dirt, but wet dirt and mud. As you can imagine, the train was quite muddy, and it had over 3 years to cake in. So I brought it to Jack. Two weeks later, I came by to pick it up, and quite frankly, you can't even tell that it had been literally dragged through the mud. Not a single visible stain remained. On top of that, not a single sequin or bead from the dress's intricate design was out of place. It looked like new. I've been going to Jack for the past 12 years, as I've mentioned. I had a Theory heavy wool coat and Free People lightweight wool coat cleaned here. Both dark colored coats came back clean but they put a small white permanent sticker on the inside bottom of each coat. I tried to slowly peel off the sticker on the lightweight coat but ended up ripping a small hole because the adhesive was that strong. On the heavy coat, I heated the sticker with a hair dryer and was able to remove the sticker without ripping fabric. However, now I have a rectangular shaped glue residue on the bottom of my coat that will not come off. I really don't understand why they would put a permanent sticker on fabric. If they had put it on the care label, I wouldn't have minded. read more

So incredibly disappointed with this experience. I called ahead to see if they could do the final press on my wedding dress. They sounded very competent they could get the job down. When I take it to drop off I was very clear that the lace needed to be laying flat and my concern was the layers. He said no problem! I called Thursday evening to assure it would be done at 10 am on Friday. My ticket said 5 so I called to make sure it would be ok to pick it up then because that time worked best. I get there at 11 and it hasn't been touched. the guy said I'll do it in 10 min. Really?? You're going to press my whole dress in 10 minutes. Needless to say it looked terrible and the lace was still curling like it was when I dropped it off. Don't take your wedding dress here. Update: Thank you for going above and beyond to clean and preserve my dress after the wedding. Although my dress wasn't ideal the day of you made it right after with your customer service. Came in for the first time because I came across a really nice couch for free and I wanted to clean the upholstery. Jack was super sweet and took care of everything. He didn't even need me to tell him what kind of material the couch was made out of because he's been in the business so long he can tell just by touching it. He got all the spots out and handled my sweaters I had dropped off as well. Not to mention complimentary mending of a whole on my soft cashmere sweater. This place came highly recommended and it has not disappointed. It's definitely $$ BUT you do get what you pay for. Harry was really helpful when I brought in a dress for a wedding. It needed to be hemmed and I was having problems with the back staying up. Jack's got the hemming done and helped me with the clothing tape to see if it would stay - it was a no go! Ugh. Harry was very honest and made suggestions on how we could alter it to make it look right. Jack was brought in to make suggestions and went above and beyond to help fix the dang dress. Back in maybe November 2020, I brought a wool blanket here to be cleaned and they did a fantastic job. I would go here again, but they did not wear masks, even with customers in the building. I understand it's your own business, but if you're interacting with customers, it just makes it a bit uncomfortable. It was disappointing, as that was literally the only negative of this business.
