I'm not usually a fan of fast-food restaurants that seem to serve the same basic food under different names. Unfortunately, this Jack's location, along with two or three others I've visited, hasn't really impressed me when it comes to the food, service, or cleanliness. That said, I'll give Jack's credit for its breakfast menu, especially the "homemade" biscuits. You can actually peer over the cashier's shoulder and watch the biscuits being made fresh from scratch, which is a nice touch. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit this location, but if you're in the area, the biscuit and sausage gravy is definitely worth a stop. The fresh-made biscuit makes all the difference! read more

Absolutely terrible experience. I tried to pay with a Jack's gift card that had funds on it, and instead of actually helping me figure out the problem, the only response I got was basically, "I don't know, it's not working." That's it. If your restaurant accepts gift cards, your employees should at least know how to troubleshoot them or offer some kind of solution. Telling a customer "I don't know" and leaving them standing there is not customer service. I won't be rushing back. read more

My husband and I are visiting from FL and we always look forward to the Jack's gravy biscuit. My husband went and picked it up and brought it back. As I sat down to eat excited, I immediately became angry and upset that was the most disappointing gravy biscuit I've ever had. I can open a $2 gravy pack from Publix and do a better job than that. The website says "Sausage gravy". I got watered down crap. Personally I feel like Jacks owes me my money back. read more

Jack's Family Restaurant - Burgers Near Me - Bessemer, Alabama

Such a sweet little lady giving counter service today. Thanks ma'am. But, we in a hurry grabbing this food and getting back before we are missed. Place spells bad like somebody mopped with the dirty mop. Claire got Big Jack combo. I got Big Jack combo with cheese and a chili dog to share. Bry Bry got 4 piece chicken fingers and fries. Food looked thrown together but everything was good. Everybody hungry, we shared this food and tore it up. You raggedy inside but food was great. We ate so fast, nobody got pictures. read more

Burgers and Fries were pretty good. Staff was not enthusiastic about being there. The soda machine area was kinda gross and the parking lot was awful. Trash everywhere. Not from a couple of days but several months. Just makes me wonder how clean the kitchen was?!?! read more

Was just given a burger with a jokingly hard bun and freakishly cold patty. I couldn't believe they really served ts. To make it worse I had to wait for a long time for a drive through, which usually I don't mind cs it means you food should be fresh but no, quite the opposite. Got 2 hockey pucks with cheese... read more

Ever since my first trip to Alabama, I always wanted to visit Jack's so I could compare Jack's with Jack in the Box and determine if they were long lost cousins. Finally, my dream came true. As it turns out, Jack's and Jack in the Box don't have very much in common. Jack in the Box brings his fancy west coast tacos, sourdough bread, and rice bowls to the party. But Jack's is your down home Southern cousin, ready with a glass of sweet tea and some fried chicken. I dropped by this Jack's for breakfast. I got a chicken biscuit, along with hash browns and a soft drink. The biscuit was really great -- the chicken was okay, and was most likely not being fried for the first time on site. The hash browns had a really nice seasoning on them. They were maybe a tad overdone but I'll take that any day over soggy potatoes. I don't know if I'll bring the same excitement to my next visit to Jack's, but I can confirm that they're a friendly face on the side of the road that might be worth your business. read more

I've been here so many times over the last five years. I've even left good reviews for this location but it has steadily been getting worse and worse. Today I order in the drive thru a sweet tea a chicken slider (a new item for limited time) and a chocolate shake. They had no chicken slider, so I swapped it for something else. The tea tastes old and sour the shake was super messy and was all over the outside of the cup and of course they gave me zero napkins. I couldn't even drink the tea. After getting my fingers super sticky from the messy shake I did manage to enjoy that once I stirred it up and got the massive clumps out. This is my last time at this location. I don't advise anyone trying this place. read more

Sat in the drive through from 8:15-8:42 with only 3 cars. That I saw had a big order, was only individual orders. Dude asked a few time what did I order, or what did I have to drink. Not sure if it's the training or what. Also the grits are a hit or miss. Either they're good, watered down too much, or not cooked all the way through. Don't know what has happened but this place has seemed to degrade in quality over the past couple months. read more

Your staff isn't taking orders. We sat in the drive thru for almost an hour only to be greeted with "one minute" asked if they were still serving breakfast to no response. After we pulled off after sitting for almost 10 more minutes we noticed that the actual drive thru lane after the orders was completely empty. Are they doing drugs or something? If I could give you absolute losers no stars I would. read more

We waited 23 minutes to be waited on. I asked for manager and she never apologized for the wait. We ordered Breakfast my wife and I asked for Large drink the little Black boy looked at my wife and told her she did not ask for large. We're is customer service. He looked like he was on something just walking back and forth. While we were there 5 people walked out. This manager should not be in charge if this happens. And the General manager should be ashamed to let these employees work in a company like Jacks. We won't be back and if these employees keep working there it won't be long there will be no customers!!!!! By the way this was the Bessemer Al location were the General Manager is Michael Russell read more

Very rude at the start when we went to order. The guy on the speaker was very ugly when talking. We paid at 5:46 and didn't get food until 6:00. No one was in front of us when we pulled around so I didn't understand the wait. The guy was super slow to give us our items and never said thank you or you're welcome and pretty much slung the bags of food out the window. Our order was a big bacon combo meal, a cup of ice cream, and a strawberry pie. I understand people have bad days but it's possible that customer service isn't this guys cup of tea! read more

Happy that this Jack's was added in the back of our neighborhood. For fast food, this is pretty darn good. I had never been to a Jack's before so this was my first experience with a Jack's. I have since been here many times and this has become our go to for convenient fast food. There are actually many others nearby so that says a lot. I really like the fried chicken here and that is typically what I get. Mashed potatoes are good, very similar to KFC. Fried chicken is very crispy and comes with a biscuit and two sides. Hubby usually gets a burger. We often get a quick breakfast here. Hubby is a fan of the biscuits and gravy. I like to get the pancakes. They are very good. A plus of Jack's is they have real ice cream so you can get a really good milkshake if you want. They have about 8 to 10 flavors. Service has always been good and staff are friendly. read more

They tried to overcharge us for things we didn't order. Then it took forever for them to fix the problem. And it took even longer for them to bring our food. Once they finally brought my order it was missing an entire meal. The employees are rude and this place overall sucks, if I hadn't already paid I would've just left. Worst Jack's I've ever been too, they won't last long with the current staff. Qualifications must be "BREATHING". read more

It's starts from the initial order in drive thru. The man taking the order was blunt and didn't offer my total, told me to pull around. There was one car they asked to pull ahead and the car in front of me that had been waiting just to complete his order when i first pulled in and me. The order ahead took 10 for the good to be delivered. I pull up, the guy lies and said my 3pc was just coming out of the grease, note I'd already been waiting 15 minutes from the time i ordered until i pulled up and my order was "just coming out the grease", so he says. So he asks me to pull up. So i pull up, at this point, i wish I'd just drove off. I'm sitting there, car in park, waiting and waiting and waiting. 10 minutes go by and I've had enough. I cut off my car and walk inside. The environment is bleak at best. You got one guy waiting looking pissed, you got an older gentlemen with a walking stick leaning over the counter. He had walked in while I was behind the first car. He's waiting, can barely stand up. I watch as the guy at the drive thru finally grand a bag and grabs my 3 little fingers off of pile of chicken tenders that had probably been sitting there. There's at least 4 people working and no one grabbed my order. Mind you, I've watched 2 cars behind me get there orders and pull off and one got tenders because the bag was horizontal when he handed it to them. So, why did my order not get made and not even get bagged until i walked in. Then the guy makes the order and just sits with it in hand and takes another payment from a car at the window. At this point I've been waiting a few minutes just to be acknowledged. Another lady finally comes to me and i so for a refund and the guy finally says, rudely, "this her order right here" and he hands it to the lady. She asked if i still wanted the refund i said yes and that i didn't even want the food anymore because at this point I'd been waiting over 20 mins for a 3pc vixen tender with fries. They go to a office and grab the GM white on the phone with someone, barely speaks to me and goes to do the refund but she didn't even know what order i had. So after several minutes of her trying to get the refund, she finally asks me what order i had. The guy at the drive thru tells her it was a drive thru order and she then goes order to the drive thru. They keep pulling the wrong receipts and now I've waiting an additional 5-10 mins just for my refund. No apology, no asking why i wanted the refund nothing. She hands me a receipt that's ripped at the top, i guess so i can't get the store info and didn't say a word and walks back in the office. The single most worst experience. And i know for a fact there were several people upset that didn't say anything but even if my order is small, i deserve the same courtesy as anyone else. Will never go to that location again. The store was untidy, the staff did not care and the GM didn't even bother to acknowledge anything. I suggest you do a surprise visit because that location has gone down hill considerably. In totally i probably waited 30 mind to not have any food and a nasty experience to boot. Just because it's fast food doesn't mean it should be attitudes and lack of pride. read more

This big bacon burger was alright could have been better. Service was okay. And the place was clean but not really good.

Fast food places are hit or miss, this jacks is no different... I stop by here almost every morning on my way to work. The staff at the drive through are friendly and try to get you through the line as fast as they can. However.... there is one young lady that works the drive through and exceptionally well. I wish I knew her name so I could give her the credit she deserves. I always know when she is working as the drive through line runs like a well oiled machine, hardly any wait at all. Now on to the food, the pancake stack is really good as is the biscuits and gravy. The regular biscuits are ok but a bit dry for my taste. I will continue to stop by here almost every day as I always get what I ordered, and it is a quick and good experience. read more

This is a great addition to the choices available on Morgan Road. They haven't been open for a long time, but are already packed on just about any given morning. This review, as most of my Jack's reviews is for the drive through. The menu boards are new and clean and the space they have for the drive through and parking is enormous. My Jack's go to is the sweet tea and every so often a bacon biscuit. Sweet tea was just like all other locations. The biscuit, probably not quite as good, but that's just a preference to how you like your bacon cooked, I like mine very crispy. Staff are friendly, nothing over the top, just do good at getting the job done. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this spot to others. read more

From the moment I walked in, all I heard was negative yelling from the employees (except the sweet man, Robert, who was making biscuits). They let us stand in line for 45 mins just to say at 10:45 that they no longer had gravy or grits...oh...and btw "We are no longer serving breakfast." When respectfully challenged by the man behind me, the lady about to take my order said in a loud and angry tone "DON'T STAY WITH ME MR. YOU SHOULD'VE COME EARLIER!!!" This absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a fast food restaurant! Not to mention that the last time I came I also left without food because the same thing happened! Get it together, people! I'm putting 1 start only because it won't let me do negative stars. read more

I think Jack's hamburgers makes some of the best chicken fingers around. However, I stopped at this Jackson Morgan Road today and got a 12 piece chicken strip box. I called in an order for some biscuits this morning for co-workers that had volunteered to work on a Sunday. I made sure to call an hour in advance to make sure that they (Jack's) had plenty of time to work through any morning rushes that may happen. I showed up on time and STILL had to wait an additional 25 minutes for my order! Most of the employees were walking around muttering to themselves as though they were PO'd at everything/everyone and didn't have a care in the world whether or not any food was ever served at this location (Morgan Road). Jack's food is almost always good but, when you have to suffer through the lack of good customer service like mentioned about it can put a bad taste in your mouth. If working at Jack's is such an unpleasant experience for the people I met today, I'd suggest finding another job before you end up ruining folks opinion of a otherwise nice place to eat. read more
