I really appreciate how understanding he is with rescheduling or conversations regarding pricing. I had shared how I had such a poor experience at a different salon in the area, extremely over charged without knowing this until the service was done (to which he agreed). Not only did he offer me a credit to use at my first visit, but always makes a conscious effort to make me aware of the price I'll be paying before the service even begins. As a college student, it's such a relief to know what I'll be paying for, he makes sure to break that down for me in such a kind manner without making me feel bad for being concerned and asking. The other owner (they're a couple), she is super sweet too!! Next, I always go to a stylist named Kaitlynn and she's absolutely AMAZING and so talented! She was able to get me super super platinum blonde while explaining tips and advice to keep my hair healthy! She always takes her time and really puts a great deal of effort into my hair each appointment. The one thing I love about her is she always compliments the way I cut and style my own hair. There's been times I've been to other stylists or gone for a simple hair cut and heard things like "not sure who cut your hair last but they did an awful job." From a professional stylists point of view, I'm sure I didn't do that good of a job but she never makes me feel that way, never pushing anything extra on me! The time goes by so fast because she's super good at creating a conversation with everyone around her including myself! Lastly, the reason I decided to write this in-depth review was due to a situation I had just this past week. I had to reschedule my usually root touch up. I had completely forgotten about it and called four days before the appointment. I felt awful for canceling such last minute, but the owner was so nice and assured me it was okay and not a big deal! There's just not many places you'll go where people are so genuinely kind like that, and the employees at Mint Hair Collective really do care about their customers and their concerns. This is one of the many reasons I keep wanting to go back every six weeks. In my opinion, what I get done is fairly affordable for me personally. However, what I can say is if it was not as affordable as what I would like to pay, I know I would 100% still chose Mint knowing I'm paying for a stellar color job and a wonderful experience with awesome people!

Sara has years of coloring experience and she is very creative at placing color in the hair. She's a stylist and color artist! Salon Lofts is a cool place to go. Each stylist operates their own loft. The building is super clean and they are doing an excellent job of following COVID safety protocols. In addition to stylists and colorists their are also a couple of manicurists who also have their own lofts. Smile Direct also has a spot there too. Tip for finding this particular Salon Lofts--it's the one beside Whole Foods, not the one in Montrose. I highly recommend Sara! She's very professional and has a gift for coloring hair and styling it. Sara is also super nice and can do very unique styles.

When I read Brian's review, I felt compelled to come in and give my own, especially due to one statement that I thought might keep people away and is completely out of sync with my three visits. Brian is a regular reviewer on Yelp. Maybe he will reconsider and edit. Maybe just a bad day? First and foremost, I think it is important that if we are going to review someplace, we review the product. You know, if I am looking for a restaurant, I want to know how the food is. I am a 50 year old business man. As a veteran of the military, I never really changed my cut much over the years. I part on the side, and I like a very short, clean cut look. I am typically loyal to a local barber. For the first time in a long time, I have received compliments on my hair after Melissa cut it. Multiple compliments. Seriously, my look is similar, but my hair looks sharper and it has probably been 30 years since anyone even noticed it. It is a great cut and I will certainly send people there, including my father when he is in town. For the record, my father is 72, a retired business executive, and he isn't looking for "attitude," nor am I. That brings me to the points I would like to politely rebut, so that you at least feel comfortable giving it a try. The review in question states it is a bit expensive for a "humble cut." I would say it is a humble price for a professional cut. The price is less than 20 bucks. It cost about the same as a fast food trip for two. It is very expensive to keep a small business running these days. Priced health insurance lately? Rent? Even if you go to a chain, you are going to pay this in many cases. My wife pays anywhere from 3 to 5 times this amount. You can find cheaper barbers. As I have stated, I am sticking with this place for the foreseeable future. I am a value buyer. I look for "bang for the buck." The review in question states that there are two "distractions." One of those is an attractive, "cool" person cutting your hair. Um... Why does the persons appearance have anything to do with the product? I am really scratching my head over this one. If you are insecure, yeah, you can go to another place I guess. I didn't give it a thought. She can weigh a hundred pounds, or 250 pounds, as long as I walk away with the same quality hair cut. Now for the complete disconnect. The other reviewer states that the haircut is served up with attitude. What!? Just disregard that. That is so far from reality that I can only guess that it either was tied to the other issue with the stylists looks, or maybe he just had a bad day, at worst a misunderstanding. I have waited in there with every seat full, half of them with guys like me, half with kids with cool young cuts. The owner walked over and poured us each a cup of coffee if we wanted one. Politely and professionally. She always shows concern for the length of your wait and gives you updates. The salon has a consultative approach. You will be asked some polite, concise questions to insure you get the cut you want. The communication is very good. I also learned about new hair products (who knew that styling gel was so 1980's). Melissa recommended a product that works fantastic on my hair and keeps it in place. It is similar to going to a good establishment to buy a suit. They consult with you and make you look better. I need all the help I can get. Give it a try. Great customer service and work ethic. Great hair cut.
