I have frequented Scott Talbot since high school with a minor break during my stint down at Ohio State. I have have numerous services performed: cut, color, nails, eyebrow waxing. Without a doubt Tabitha and Scott Talbot are my FAVORITE salon in the area. I spent a good time down in Columbus and was devastated by my return to Akron when I realized that I needed a haircut a couple of months after my move. I am extremely picky about my salons because my curly hair seems to have a mind of its own. So I thought I'd try Scott Talbot again. While I was in Columbus, Scott Talbot seemed to have grown too. They are much bigger than when I was in high school. I was scheduled with Tabitha and the fates must have brought us together because she can do things with my hair that no other hair stylist can. Not only is she awesome at hair, but she's beyond friendly and nice just like many of the other stylists I've encountered. Plus, as a regular Tabitha does free bang trims. I'm always extremely happy when I leave. I'm also always happy with the service as well. I can call and get in with Tabitha either that day or the next. They are so accommodating and as prices go I feel that I am getting more for my money (which is reasonable priced) at Scott Talbot than any other salon. read more

Kendra was HORRIBLE!!! I asked for 3-4 inches off and some layers and curtain bangs. My hair was down to almost my butt. She kept saying there was a "disconnect" every time she started cutting. She ended up giving me a bob cut with layers that were not even at ALL! My hair has never been so short and I feel horrible about myself now. I have never been so disappointed. They clearly do not train their stylists. read more

I just had one of the best massages ever by Joe. He was incredible! He took his time working on my problem areas, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole massage. UPDATE: I was invited back by the owner and manager for them to make it right and they assured me that the previous tech was no longer with them. My second appointment was significantly better than my first. She was pleasant and professional. She did a great job and the manicure was done well. Though it was nothing spectacular to write home about, I wanted to give an accurate representation of my review. Unfortunately, my view of the salon as a whole is still tarnished by my first visit. Though I may go back, it will not be a first choice. INITIAL REVIEW: I get manicures regularly and this was easily the worst. My usual salon was booked and I had broken my natural nail really badly and needed a repair. The tech I had at Scott Talbot was not friendly and did not make me feel welcome on my first visit there. Her desk was DIRTY and unkept. She was unnecessarily rough with my hands while filing and buffing. I have great cuticles that did not need trimming (they only needed pushed back) and she cut my thumb's cuticle so close that I was BLEEDING profusely. She did not apologize. How RUDE?! She seemed to rush through the process. She added a large acrylic to my broken nail that I actually decided to shape better when I got home. My acrylic does not match the shape of the rest of my natural nails. So now it's been a day - my thumb is still bleeding, my nail is CROOKED and my polish looks hastily done. I'm just hoping I don't have an INFECTION. I should have just done it myself. I called to explain and they said they would redo it, but I don't think I want to even try again. read more

I'm very upset, I got recommended this place and they were able to fit me in and I was very excited! I told them everything on the phone I wanted and when I got there the stylist told me she 'didn't have enough time to do my hair' so she offered to do a partial color which was fine but when she offered pricing it was like 30$ cheaper than what I originally wanted and booked for (for the full color) so I asked, 'so for what I was it's only 30 dollars more expensive but if you do a partial I'll have to come back to get it finished and I have to pay double the price??' And she said yes, so I chose to reschedule. I was very upset, I waited and drove almost an hour. For them to tell me I had to pay double the price to do my hair how I wanted because she 'didnt have time'.. I even told the stylist, well they asked me the length and knew what I wanted and they thought it was plenty of time. I LOVE Scott Talbot salon spa. I went in after having my hair cut 3 times prior by 2 salons. Twice by an extremely expensive salon in Kent OH who messed up the cut and were rude and terrible about fixing it and me not liking it. Scott Talbot salon spa renewed my faith in why I go to a salon for everything in the first place! My stylist is Jaquie M.( There are 2 "Jackie's" that work here. Both are excellent one has been there for years and years and is a level 4 stylist. I go to the one whose been there for I think a year do not quote me! She is a level 1 but you would NEVER know!) She is amazing. She did the absolute best she could to give me the illusion of the haircut I originally wanted. I say illusion because it was messed up prior and she somehow pulled a magic trick and made it look almost exactly how it was supposed to even though underneath was still not how it was supposed to be but she couldn't exactly fix what I no longer had for hair. We made a plan and have been slowly growing my hair in the parts it needs and it has gotten better Everytime! I have an extremely difficult disconnected asymmetrical pixie cut with an undercut that has to be done right because I have thin hair that looks thick because I have sooo much but shows mistakes like crazy. She not only did this but took my dark brown (virgin) hair to a beautiful rose gold and pink tones balayage/ombre color melt and it was amazing. She's colored me 3 times and cut it twice now. I will never go anywhere else and if she ever leaves I will follow her for sure! She's still learning and I am so glad I found her and get the pleasure of being a client through her journey because she is already amazing so it's just gonna keep getting better from here! read more

WARNING!!!! I booked my bridal/bridal party hair and makeup here for my wedding earlier this month. Although the stylists did an amazing job - the front desk managed to mess up the entire morning of my wedding. After everyone was finished getting their hair and makeup done, we went to the front desk to pay only to find out that they did not have a deposit under our name...even though my mother went to to make the deposit months prior. We told them when we made the deposit and how we made the deposit (not to mention asking them how we still had appointments if they didn't have a deposit...) and they refused to help us in anyway and were demanding that we either pay in full or go back and get the receipt and bring it to them (like we had enough time the DAY OF OUR WEDDING to do that...). 45 MINUTES LATER - they finally found the deposit (apparently they had put it in the system under a service they don't do anymore...). At this time I was supposed to be in my dress and on my way to the church, but instead I was still waiting at the salon. Aside from this ordeal causing a huge amount of unneeded stress on our big day, we also missed out on taking any pictures before the ceremony. Even worse - when my mom went back in that Monday to speak to someone about this ordeal, the only thing they offered in return was $5 off the TOTAL. At $50 a person and with 7 people total...that is NOTHING (not even enough to cover 1 person's tip!). I found that to be a complete slap in the face. I find this to be completely unfortunate since my family and I have gone to this salon for YEARS - even despite the fact that many of our favorite stylists have left...but now it is easy to see why - they are losing business off of the salon's poor business practices! So BRIDES BEWARE! I would hate for anyone else to go through this! read more

BEWARE! Last week I had a perm with Cheyenne - Green location - $122 plus tip - NO curl. Met with Jackie (manager) who agreed Cheyenne used rods that were too big,didn't leave perm solution on long enough (8 minutes), and there was no curl anywhere except the ends at the back. Jackie offered to reperm - HUH - but said they give NO refunds or discounts. This is the second bad experience at this salon and it will certainly be my last experience. 5 stars for Cat/Kat (sorry I didn't catch the spelling of her name. My updo was phenomenal and I got compliments on it all night long. I was not happy with my makeup and despite paying $30+ with tip, I wiped it all off and redid it myself. It looked okay under the lights but in the bathroom I saw how bad it really was. I've been here a few times in the past, and usually regret it. It's too expensive for what it is. I was there for less than 2 hours, to get highlights touched up. After a series of very insincere small talk, she asked if I would like a trim, and I asked if she thought I needed it, she said yes. So I told her to just take off a very small amount at the bottom. It took her less than 3 minutes. When I went up to pay, I discover I am to be charged $104.00. I was shocked and asked for a break down of the bill. They charged me $38 for the little trim. I was not happy at all and felt it was unjust and explained so, the receptionist literally shrugged her shoulders and swiped my card. I guess it depends on what kind of person you are, or how your finances are... but if you like being treated respect and love, don't go here. Because you are just a dollar sign to them. read more

Wedding party fail! Three bridesmaids and two moms all had hair and makeup done for my daughter's wedding. They did a decent job on our hair. I wasn't thrilled with the overall outcome of mine. My girl got rushed at the end and started cutting corners. All but the bride had makeup done. Let me just say, these women are NOT professional makeup artists or estheticians. Everyone's makeup was so bad, we rushed back to the venue and ALL had to redo our makeup! The woman who did mine, could not apply eye shadow without putting SCOTCH TAPE on my eyes! SCOTCH TAPE!!?? The results were horrible as expected! She applied my eyeliner in a downward line so it looked like my eyes were sliding down my face! When I saw this I made her stop. I am a licensed esthetician and have done wedding makeup for brides and bridal parties. In my professional opinion, they did a slop job! The girl who did the maid of honor didn't even use foundation or concealer! They had a lovely setup for makeup, which deceives you to think they have a clue what they are doing. Stay away!! I called up the Fulton Salon (didn't know they had one in green) to make an appt for am ombre. I showed up the next day for my appt and they said it was in green. No big deal, I just wanted my hair done. I get there, I wait 20 mins and they call me back. Talking with me for 10 mins, she says, "We don't have time to do your hair. Maybe tomorrow". So I call because that was wrong, and they gave me $20 off. I go in the next morning and get Sami at the Fulton location for an Ombre. She had NO idea what she was doing. Told her I wanted it at eye level and she did it an inch from my scalp. It lasted in my hair for a few hours but it was so ugly, I didn't want to go in public! $160 down the drain. I go in the next day because I hated it and they accuse me of dying my hair because the girls said my hair looked lighter yesterday. WOW, that made me even more hate my hair because it was turned back to the original color except for a streak around my head by my ears. It looked like a horrible dye job done by a 3 year old. They also had the nerve to tell me that they weren't going to charge me for the dye to make my so-called ombre not start at my scalp. REALLY? I won't give you people another dime for doing absolutely nothing to my hair! You are not stylists, choose a new career! The next day I went to The Hair Shoppe & Spa and they did the most BEAUTIFUL ombre for me. I was SO pleased and it was half the price! Looked exactly like the picture. I have gotten SO many compliments on my hair in the last day, it looks amazing! I should have known not to go to Scott Talbots because I have heard from so many people that they are terrible and rip you off! Absolutely true! I deserve my money back for them jus tputting a streak in my hair. Scott Talbots - You guys have NO idea how to do hair. One day while in Bed Bath and Beyond I saw a girl with a really cool haircut. I walked up to her and asked her where she got her hair cut and who cuts it. She told me Melissa at Scott Talbot Salon. Well, I immediately called and booked a consultation with her. I am so paranoid about my hair because I've had so many bad haircuts in my time and I certainly don't need another one. I told her what I wanted and she really did listen. When I said cut 5 inches off the length, she cut exactly 5 inches off the length. Whew so far so good. She asked if I wanted my layers to blend really well and I said yes. Melissa wasn't necessarily well versed in point cutting so she opted to cut my layers in a very strange way. I'm used to someone cutting the length and then cutting layers--she went reverse order on me. And then all of a sudden she starting cutting the layers to the same length. The result? An extremely choppy, hacked up head of hair that looks awful. My worst nightmare. Never again. Now I have to find someone else to fix it. read more

Do not go here! I went in to this salon to buy a product and the receptionist talked me into booking a cut and color with one of the stylist! I was looking for someone new at the time so I said ok! I specifically told her that I needed someone very talented in cuts! My hair is very straight! I went to this girl and she supposedly was specialized in difficult cuts! NOOOOOOOOO she is not! She left a weird hole in my hair in the back as if she stacked just a small area. then I found color bleeds throughout my hair! She was very sloppy in her work and was extremely rough in everything she did! I cant believe this! Why is is so hard to find a talented stylist??
