Whoever I spoke to over the phone to place an order was so nice and accommodating to answering all my questions. I ordered the philly soul rolls. I think having them in an eggroll wrapper shocked me initially. They were flavorful but I feel like I wanted them crispier on the outside and more moist in the middle? Or maybe a veggie inside.... I'm not sure. I did love the ranch that came with and the fries were good. That sweet tea I'd come back here with a better plan because I think they could exceed my initial expectations. It was a great cheese steak sandwich, although I would not say it was the best I have ever had. The real magic is in the hot sandwich being served wrapped in tinfoil, which lets that cheesiness melt into a liquefied mess. We though since we made it there well before lunch that we did not need to call ahead. Even at 11:30am, I would still suggest it. We didn't mind waiting, but I thought the 45 minutes quoted for 2 sandwiches at a place that specializes in them, was a bit much. We did enjoy a delicious lunch about 35-40 minutes later - and throughout our wait we saw car after car pop by for pick-up. The fries were good - but this ranch sauce stuff was insanely good. I am not sure what they put in it - or even what it is to tell you to ask for, but you should figure out how to ask for extra. The buffalo lemon pepper wings were crispy and the sauce was bright and spicy. We also got a Hot Veggie - and it was indeed hot - the spice level was more than expected, but it was still good. Totally deserving of a spot on the top 100 list! We were greater by friendly faces who really seemed to be passionate about their food. The first thing I noticed other than great personalities was the fresh cut bin of fries! The smell of the place had my mouth watering from the second the door opened. There are so many options and I'm sure all are amazing. We tried their buffalo chicken souxl rolls with ranch. That will be a now must every time. My husband ordered the steak and steak sauce philly and I got the jerk chicken philly. It had the perfect amount of kick. Their most popular drink - kool-aid (purple, red, or mixed). If you order anything else, you're wrong! Their fresh cut fries had a great peppery seasoning. They have 2 rooms of tables and chairs. It seemed that many people ordered to go. Great food! Was looking for someplace to eat and saw the great rating on yelp. Thought that it was a little suspicious that it had 5 star rating with over 400 reviews! Decided to give it a try... It definitely deserves the rating! FYI they only do take out now. I got the original cheesesteak with fries and a coke. My wife got the smoked turkey sandwich. Ate here for lunch today while in the area. Staff was very friendly from the get go and the menu is straight forward. Loved the murals on the building and the music playing on the speakers. I ordered a jerk chicken Philly cheese steak as well as three steak soul rolls with blue cheese dressing. Bread on the Philly was fresh and the meat was delicious. I got the regular size to split with my girlfriend, but if you're hungry I'd recommend the larger size if only ordering the sandwich. Jerk chicken was delicious but I wouldn't recommend to anyone who can't deal with a little spice, as to be expected. Very satisfied. Soul rolls were a hit. The texture and freshness was awesome and as strange as it is to say, this blue cheese dressing stood out to some others that I've have had in the past. Again, if you're hungry I'd choose either the meal option or order more. Wait was about 20 minutes during lunchtime and that seemed to pass quickly. Definitely will be coming here again! read more

Wow what a gem of a restaurant in Augusta! Stopped by here on our travels from Atlanta to Charleston and so glad we came here. Ordered a Philly cheesesteak, buffalo chicken rolls, and some lemon pepper buffalo wings. I can say that these were probably some of the best wings I've had. They smothered these things in sauce and the sauce was super flavorful. The cheesesteak was also really good too. They initially gave me the wrong order of rolls but they ended up giving me the buffalo chicken ones when I let them know. The ranch and blue cheese dressings were delicious. I really wish we could try their desserts but she said they didn't have any desserts that day which was a bummer. Overall I think that plane was fantastic and would not hesitate to return if I am ever in the area! read more

The food here is amazing!! Honestly all I e ever eaten is the Philly Cheese Steak but let me tell ya, it will keep you coming back again and again once you've had it! I've had the steak sauce Philly and it was good but the steak sauce was a bit much for me. I've had the Philly with buffalo sauce and that one is also really good and flavorful. The wings are really good and a nice size. Every flavor of the soul rolls are good and the ranch they have is amazing. I've only had the Jamaican beef patty once because they haven't had it the other times I've called and it's also really good. The peach mango koo laid is my favorite drink And now that I've tried the dessert it's also really good. This place blew my mind since the moment I walked into the door. The people here are so friendly and take care of you throughout the meal, making sure you enjoy your meal and have a good experience. The menu offers so many different types of philly cheesesteaks, but I just got the original one. Tastes better than the ones I had in Philly. Comes out on homemade (!) bread that pairs perfectly with the meat filled with hot gooey cheese. Jackie M's fries are perfectly seasoned and comes out hot and crispy. Yum! One of the best fries I've had in Augusta. This place really hits the spot. I tried out their red velvet cheesecake as well. It's very creamy, but unfortunately I'm just not a fan of red velvet. Okay yall I'm back with a local fav. Now let's get into this place. I saw it was a little outside north augusta and in a more local area. Let me tell you something. I wish I had more time to order everything I wanted because Chile I got the soul food jerk chicken egg rolls. Why did they hit so hard. I mean I wanted two more orders of the different flavors. I would recommend calling ahead though because if you order when you get there you will be waiting 15-20 mins. They don't play about the fresh food. But just in case that's not enough to convince you to visit, let me share my last experience. I was needing my Philly Cheesesteak fix and this is the only place to do that. I rolled up, only to find the parking lot full. No worries, just across the street is a grassy area you can use. I already knew my order, but I still check the menu every time just in case. I stuck with the Philly (Gutbuster sized) and some buffalo chicken soul rolls. Now I'll be honest, most people could make the soul rolls a meal. You get four, they are larger than most egg rolls you've seen, and stuffed full of meat. I still have yet to try the jerk chicken one, but that's happening next time. The turnaround time on the order was quick, as always. The entire team made me feel like a part of the family (it is family owned you know). And the food, perfection. I occasionally reference my foodie and chef hero, Anthony Bourdain, and I think I will do it again. "Don't eat like a tourist." He often said to ask the locals where they like to eat. I can assure you, Jackie M's and Son is such a place. It is eclectic, comforting, welcoming, and after eating here you will realize just how perfect the location (a house) truly is. The meat tasted of good quality. We had no issues with our meal. We also enjoyed the wings! LOVED THE SAUCE! The buffalo/lemon pepper sauce was dynamite. The wings themselves were large. Just to define the name a soul roll is an egg rolls filled with 1 of four meat options. I tried the Jerk Chicken Philly soul roll and it's filled with flavor. The jerk is true to its seasoning which is a nice amount of spicy. The Philly cheesesteak is delicious and not greasy which is such a bonus. The wings are packed with awesome seasoning that leaves pure satisfaction. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the desserts. They were sold out. Definitely recommend everyone to try it. Below are some tips for dining. Tips: Due to the recent success of being a Yelp 100 to try eatery and the media coverage from it, there's a wait to dine. It's 2 hours at the most to order.
