For Lent, Jack in the Box is offering their fish sandwich combo for a limited time. Definitely penitential. The curly fries were OK, but they needed to be drenched in ketchup&mustard to have any flavor at all. They were also lukewarm. The fish sandwich was worse. The glossy photos make it look good, that it has a tartar sauce of sorts, but the one I got was dry&tasteless. To complicate matters, the cashier didn't know how to order the fish sandwich on the cash register. Inadequate training slowed things down, along with poor signage. He didn't know about the special combo, despite the fact it has a YUGE sign at the drive thru. Sad! As for the fish sandwich, all it was were the buns, a dry fried fish filet, and lettuce. The tartar sauce was either barely there or non-existent. No wonder they do this for a limited time... they don't know how, but McD's more flavorful Filet-O-Fish is available year-round. This Jack in the Box was open after the 2014 earthquake (but closed during the power outage of last year's wildfires), sadly, they've become a disaster. read more
