I used to be employed with a tanning salon downtown that unfortunately closed and used VERSA SPA- I was thrilled to see that Jamakan me tan offered the same machine we used with the same color options (Catalina) I went in prepared to get a monthly unlimited membership, I had called in prior in the day and got the breakdown of what you offered. Well I went in to purchase my membership and was greeted by a young lady, I said "I'd like to get an unlimited monthly membership for the VERSASPA." She looked at me perplexed and said just said "ok? Do you know what option you want?" I stated I didn't realize there was more than one option and if she could let me know what they were. Unfortunately she could not tell me any spray tan offers, she did however find a paper that she "thought" was maybe the spray tanning prices tho she could not be completely sure. She offered to call someone to ask if I wanted her to... it just honestly seemed like she didn't want to help me so I got the heck out of there. Which sucks cause it is so close to my home. It would be great if the staff was trained on the pricing and products that are offered. Over all very uncomfortable experience. read more

BEWARE!!!! This is literally one of the WORST businesses I've EVER been a patron of in my entire adult life. None of them know what they're doing and will mislead you on how heir contacts work, so READ YOUR CONTRACT (every line of it). They hide really shitty terms that work against you when you don't realize it. Employees and managers will even tell you differently, but ultimately, you get screwed because you signed the two page contract full of fine print. Be careful with this place. I was a member for a good 9-12 months. $20 a month, unlimited base tanning. Supposedly no contract, right? At one point I was out of work due to surgery, got 2 months behind in my bill. I called to pay for a month and get my tan on. When you're late, your membership is halted and you can't tan, right? Fair enough. No pay, No tan. But no contract? Wrong. Well, while your membership is on hold and you can't tan, they continue to charge you and rack up your bill, plus they had a $10-15 late fee per month that you're late on your $20 membership. So I called to pay for a month, maybe one late fee, and be on my way. Nope. They wanted 3 months plus late fees for 3 months-- some $86. I argued that this was supposed to be no contract. "You have to cancel a month in advance." But I couldn't even cancel unless I paid them $86 for a NO CONTRACT $20/mon membership! I eventually settled on paying the three months (the manager, though pretty rude and was just chanting: "It was on the contract you signed. It was in the contract you signed. It was in the contract you signed," waved 2 of the late fees). I finally cancelled, but they assured me I could use my over $100 in tan dollars after canceling and not having a membership. It cancelled and I go in today to use my tan dollars on a tan. A second manager (the one that's super over tanned with straight dark hair) says all my tan dollars are wiped after I cancelled. I explained that her employees specifically told me I could use them without a membership. She didn't care-- "it was in the contract that you signed." Then she condescendingly repeated it, but put her fingers in the air and pretended to be initialing a paper: "It was in those little letters you initialed next to." I remarked that I've had so much trouble with this place and unless they can do something to correct my experience, I'm posting on yelp. "Whatever," the manager said. They couldn't give a shit less about unhappy customers or bad reviews. I was appalled. This is the shittiest business I've literally ever been to. BEWARE! read more

I am usually not someone to write reviews or make a scene about small mistakes. Though I am completely baffled at the way this company handles mistakes made by their employees. Without explaining the entire story, the owner named Kim is entirely unprofessional and rude. I have had better customer service at fast food restaurants then my experience with Kim. She failed to give me documents that I requested and was told would be given to me the next business day and made only the minimal efforts to solve the problem. I have never had a business try to get money out of me until I encountered this salon. I will never give Jamkin me tan my business, and do not recommend them on any professional level. What I've learned from this experience- it is worth it to pay more at the other salons around here for professional and good customer service rather than be treated the way I was at this salon. read more

Visited here this morning because a friend told me they were offering FREE tanning this weekend only. I thought it was too good to be true, but I showed up this morning and sure enough, I was offered a free tan, (today and tomorrow), free tanning lotion and free moisturizer as I left. The customer service was fantastic, the gal at the front desk was very cheery and pleasant. I tanned in bed 2, the room and bed were clean. I'll be back when it's time for the next vacation and I'll be happy to pay if the service remains as it was today. read more
