I've used just about every bed they have to offer and they are all great. My favorite is the high pressure bed; it's well worth the extra money and gives you a deep tan that lasts longer. Their mystic tan is also great if you want to do a 'cocktail' before a special event. Probably going to do that for New Years :) Every time I walk in I'm always greeted and feel welcomed, I'm never pushed about buying lotions or tans, the beds are always cleaned, and I've noticed they often change their lights so you know you're getting a good tan. Honestly I've never had anything but a good experience tanning with them and really won't go anywhere else now. I've tried multiple other places throughout the years and this is the only place that I will go to. If you're looking for a new place to tan check them out! They really turn tanning into a luxury ;)

She proceeded to tell him that his money was more important to the business than my money was. So after hearing that the worker realized she messed up his transaction but couldn't figure out what. So I asked if I could please just check in. She rudely said no she wouldn't let me. So I said well you can cancel my account then. I won't be giving money to a company who says my money isn't as important to them as the next person. She refused to cancel my account.

No one explained the policy at that time, so I assumed I would not be charged (as when i explained i needed to cancel my membership before i was charged again so that i would not have that money taken out ofy account, no one stated i would still be charged anyway!) I started a membership a year ago, and even then, no one verbally explained cancellation policy. Apparently, you need to cancel 14 days before you are billed! I would have done so if i was told. That is a big deal! I am now in overdraft on my account, and have accrued an overdraft fee from the bank! I don't get paid until the end of September, as i am a teacher and that's when our next round of paychecks happen. I spoke to the owner, and she said I was emailed paperwork when i first signed up a long time ago. Well, i did not receive that. Maybe it was in my junk mail? AND, that was so long ago. People are not going to memorize/remember that info from that long ago on policies. She refused to refund the money taken out, and had no sympathy. I feel very differently about our locally owned salon, and will no longer be doing business there. (Im sure she doesn't care about that either)

The girl helping me was not helpful and very shady, lying saying she was giving me a discount when really she was using my tan dollars towards the total. She also didn't give me the special they had going on that my friend got at the HD location. These salons have really gone down hill and their standard for a clean salon went with it. I will upload pictures of how gross the spray booth was. I payed over $40 for a spray tan in a booth that looks like it hasn't been cleaned or updated jam years. I've always kept going here because of the convenience of putting my package on hold but I will be looking for a new place with better service and a clean atmosphere.

That aspect makes Tropical Image unique to other local salons. The reason I do not rate 5 stars is because they lack the range of beds I like to have available. The only high pressure level 5 they have is the matress version of the Matrix High Pressure, which is a 24 minutes bed due to turning over halfway in between which means whatever side you laid on first will have half the lotion left behind on the mattress rather than your skin.. It just is an old ghetto bed and they have a few others that could use serious upgrading. And that High Pressure is offered at one instead of both locations. Other than that the prices are affordable, the staff is welcoming and patient, and the environment overall is 95% awesome!
