Solid 2 stars. Sorry I do not get the fascination with hot pot. If I wanted to bbq and boil my own meat and veggies I could do that at home. Ok, I know I am not rating the hot pot method I am rating the restaurant. It's new so it looks nice inside but it's just your standard hot pot. Any meat you order is delivered in frozen rolls. Seafood is all frozen. I don't know if the veg is fresh but it isn't anything special. Soup itself was moderately tasty and every sauce was incredibly salty! Even the fruit choices were low grade, old and not tasty. It's the definitely the golden corral of hot pot. Service was good hence the additional star. read more

I came here on a Sunday mid-afternoon. It was busy. I was seated promptly. There was a slight delay to get drink orders because my server was busy with another table. Server was friendly. The server stopped by to get my food orders a few times. No tablet to order from like Shinhwa Korean BBQ (Roseville) or Upin Hot Pot (Brooklyn Center). They also have a robot server roaming around and it plays Super Mario Kart theme song. The buffet cart had a variety of fruits, vegetables, and sauces. They have this cool sign on mixing sauces. They even have a freezer filled with ice cream! When I ordered the prime brisket, there was 10 slices that came out. (In the photo attached, I already put 3 slices in the pot.) Unlike Shinhwa, you actually pay after dining and it looks like there is a 15% server charge, which is fine. I noticed excellent teamwork when turning over tables. Overall, great value, lots of choices available, my server did an outstanding job, and I would be back again with friends. read more

The ordering flow is super fast. We just made our order. The food cart was here in a few seconds. The waiter came along to help set up the ordered food places. We ordered a few cups of soda drinks ( included in the ayce price). When the drink has 1/5th left, the waiter came here with a new filled soda cup to give us. When we were leaving, we got to play with the robot cart. the robot is an entertaining waiter. Their staff team is abundant, friendly, very helpful. My family and I (party of 8) came to J Pot on a Saturday night and only waited for less than 5 minutes for a table. We ended up splitting in half but the waiters were amazing. My table had David at first and he was the best! Kevin became our server and he was sooo nice and funny. Customer service is top notch. The food was amazing as well! Food was delicious but some of the meats were a little salty. Service was good your given a menu to order from and keep it throughout the meal. They have too different sauce bars full of different ingredients and fruits. The place is clean and they have K-pop playing on some walls. Seafood section was excellent very fresh and delicious. I personally love kimichi but this one wasn't all that sadly. Since it is AYCE I recommend to have a water and squirt some lemons in to help you digest and eat more . I always visit this place when I want to eat hot pot. The BBQ, except for the marinated LA ribs, didn't really suit my taste in terms of texture and flavor. However, the service is always friendly, which makes for a pleasant dining experience. read more

It is an excellent Korean restaurant that has a robot catering your food. The food is great. You choose your own set of protein, veggies and soup base and set at a table with stoves. Good for a group of people of 4 but they have larger rooms for party size. I guess you can go alone but it will not be fun. No reservations needed on the weekends but expect about 35 minutes wait time. This is my second time visiting this place and with no regrets. Try it out and let me know. Bon A Petit! read more

I absolutely love JPOT. Especially our waiter, David. He was so great! So I'm on vacation to visit family and my family in Minnesota have never been to a hotpot aka shabu shabu and Korean bbq EVER! I did a bit of research and decided to come here. And boy am I glad we did!!! The restaurant was very clean and the waiter was very patient with us. More my family cause they had no idea what to do which was funny to see. But our waiter, David, did a lot to make sure they were having a great experience there. Love this place for K BBQ, hotpot is fine but not my favorite. The bbq selection and marinade are great, staff is friendly and helpful, and the restaurant experience was amazing as well. Service, hot pot soup base and menu options could have been better. Robot machine or server brings you the meat and seafood you ordered, and you cook it. There's an automatic 15% service charge. When we were done eating, the server brought the bill, took my card and came back with the receipts. I gave an additional tip to bring the service charge to 20% BUT the server never brought my card back. I forget about it and go back two days later to retrieve my card. Not a single word of apology. Came here with a party of 4 on a Friday night at 6. Added our name to the list and was seated within 30 minutes. We opted for the hot pot and KBBQ option for the table. They had 2 buffet setups for sauces, cold appetizers, fruits, dessert, and some vegetables. The spicy garlic sauce had good flavor. The broth for the hotpot in my opinion wasn't very flavorful, I had to grab some stuff from the sauce bar to jazz it up. The items came out in good portion size via the server or the robot. I highly recommend this spot. The hot pot and Korean bbq was delicious. Our server was attentive and kind. On top of all of that the price was pretty good for all you can eat. Between two people it was under $100 with tip and tax included. The only thing I'd recommend they change is a better way to stay organized with seating people. Good quality food and reasonable drink prices. If u get poor service don't pay the tip. Our server was very friendly. It was our first time there so she helped explain how the process work and gave us a few suggestions. We did the all you can eat hot pot. Everything was delicious but I just wish the soup would be a little bit more spicy and have more of a tingling feeling. We had ordered some veggies but never got them and then realized that you had to go get your own veggies. Just wish they would've said something so we didn't have to keep on waiting for our veggies. SO WORTH the money. We got plenty of food (they suggest starting with 10 meats, veggies, noodles for the hot pot and 6-8 for the bbq) we did ask for seconds on a few items because they were that good and it's a good thing we had 6 people because it's so much food. We had some make sauces for dipping and that really tied to meal together. The ones who didn't have dipping sauce said next time they will venture that route. This was a nice dining experience. Clean location and sleek setting. The service was decent but I was not happy to see that there is a gratuity charge included on the bill. There are robots delivering the food to the tables. Yes, the waitress brought drinks and put in the order, but at least for this visit, not much interaction. While the food was good and fresh, we were new to the hot pot/Korean BBQ experience and the waitress offered very little help or guidance. Nonetheless, that's our issue as it's new and we figured it all out. If the location was closer to where we live, it would likely be a regular place to visit and get used to the type of dining. When we were being led to our table we were informed that since today is a holiday, we would pay holiday prices which was the dinner price for lunch. One of the people in our group served in the US military for 8 years. When they told us the prices were increased for the holiday I asked if they recognized our veterans and offered them some special today for their service. They said they don't recognize it, only charge extra for it, which I felt like was taking advantage of a holiday for personal gain without actually recognizing the sacrifice made by others- a little tacky. The food was pretty good- the grill didn't cook super fast and was kind of small for our group so that ensured the meal moved a little slower but the amount I was able to eat while there- they limit the meal time to 2 hours and there were 4 of us sharing the grill- was just fine- more than I normally eat for sure. read more

There was a good variety and a self serve salad/side dishes/sauce bar. The meat was average for Korean bbq in MN (not amazing, or really "authentic," but passable). It would be a fun spot to check out with a group to introduce them to korean bbq, but it did take a long time as there was only 1 grill for our group of 6. read more

For kbbq I expected better kimchi. Overall the service was great and the food was good. There needs to be more banchan options and the kimchi dishes were not good at all. Did not taste fermented/sour and this was a disappointment. Kimchi was bland and slightly sweet which is not how kimchi should taste. Food was very fresh and good. This restaurant lets you season the custom broth that you choose with many options of spice! Soup can have many options of noodles or rice. I haven't even explained about the barbecue plate in the center of the table. Even at lunch you have so many options of things to grill- my favorite was the asparagus. Our server was very rude and discriminatory. Attentive to another table because of race. He spoke very rudely to my sister and never gave me my water, until I asked five times. We were left there with no change in our grills as it was burnt black . I generally don't complained or write bad reviews but because of how rude the server was, I feel the need to let people know. Our server name was David. His lack of respect for our table and attentiveness is the reason we won't go back. I normally tip more even when gratuity is included but for him, he simple did not deserve it. 15% included doesn't mean you should neglect your customers. Please train your employees better, if he was unhappy to be a server, don't reflect on the job. Cleanliness is also a plus, because a waitress entered the women's restroom, used it and return to the job without washing her hands. read more
