I still lost things in my pot but they still tasted good even after cooking for 30 minutes! There are an impressive number meat, vegetable, seafood, tofu and other items that can be cooked in the hot pot or on the grill. And they are delivered by robot! The marinated meats are great. I also got a lot of vegetables from the salad bar to cook in the hot pot, which are a great complement to the grilled meats. The fruit on the salad bar was surprisingly ripe, even out of season. As a vegan-leaning pescatarian, there were plenty of options- including several tofu styles. It's all you can eat, with a plot twist- if you take food you don't ear you may end up paying extra, which makes sense. Tried J-Pot after having gone to other similar AYCE establishments like K-Pot and it hits the mark pretty well! My partner and I went for lunch and did the KBBQ option. It was only 20.95 which is pretty similar to other AYCE lunch pricings. The place was clean and spacious, and the robot cat delivering the food was cool. The food options were a bit limited, but service was fast and the experience of cooking KBBQ was very enjoyable. Our favorite cuts were the pork belly and steak with butter. They had a few veggie options to grill too but those were also very limited. There is a self-serve bar with all the side dishes and sauces for both the hotpot and KBBQ. The side dish options felt pretty limited for the KBBQ unfortunately, and they tasted just okay. The sauces were good though. Overall, the KBBQ experience was good but I preferred K-Pot more. I will say I would definitely go for the hotpot next time as it looks more appetizing in both the sauce bar and menu items. If you show up closer to 7, the waiting time will be much longer. There's a sauce station with lots of option and they even have instructions to create premade sauce. It was decent, but to be honest, my experiences with hotpot and KBBQ have all felt pretty similar--nothing mind-blowing. I got the chicken bone broth, which was good, and the other soup bases were solid as well. Here, you order everything through the server using an iPad. The portion sizes for the meat were pretty generous. Some vegetables are self-serve, as well as the sauces, which I found impressive because they offer a great variety. However, I wouldn't recommend their Hmong pepper sauce--it wasn't great. They also have a good selection of fruits and desserts. For birthdays, they do provide a small sack mini square cake, but it's nothing special. I really appreciate that! My parent can't sit in a booth or chair, they need to be in their wheelchair at all times. So it was nice - some places just don't care. We were looking to try a new place my wife, sister, and myself so we decided to give J Pot a try. This establishment was very nice, inside and out. I loved the ambiance, and the robots playing Super Mario theme was a nice touch. May was our server, she took her time explaining everything to us since it was our very first visiting this restaurant. May also made sure to give us great advice on how to order the food so we didn't waste any. Plus all of the food advice she gave us was spot on, very glad she was our server. We ordered the hot pot and the BBQ so we could get the full experience. May also told us there was a bar with additional veggies and fruits for $5 additional. And the hotpot and BBQ was priced at $39.95 if you go for the lunch menu it's cheaper but we were there for dinner. I also tried the organic strawberry lemonade that May suggested and it was very delicious. We had a great time, the food was wonderful, and we liked the service. The only thing we didn't like is that they do not let customers use the vegetable spray. The servers only spray it when they first give you the new grill cover to cook on. However, it makes it so that the grill covers have to be replaced often because the food residue burns on the grill covers. I got the Szechuan Spicy but it was just okay. Good broth, but not really spicy or super flavorful. The ingredients were fresh, which I appreciated. They have a sauce bar that you can also load up on veggies at, but the premixed samjang was a lil salty. The staff orders for you on a tablet, and robots bring your food out. Not sure why we don't have access to the tablet, because we had to flag our server down each time we wanted to order more. Portions come out kind of small, so we had to reorder often for our group of 5. This spot is a little far for me, and I give it a 4 because I liked the kbbq, but not sure if I would make the trek since there are so many options closer. The place was clean, surprisingly not loud, okay restroom (would love to see paper towels for drying hands instead of the single dryer). The server was very friendly though some staff would walk by often (we were in an odd spot where the only reason to walk by is would be to check on people and not in normal passing) and I'm sure it was meant to come off as wanting to bus some of the plates off but it just came off as odd and intrusive. The little robot was around but I couldn't tell you why some food items were delivered by the robot and some by a person. Good experience. Meats were flavorful. Veggies were fresh. I know this location as a former Pizza Ranch. Outside of the building's structure on the outside, I would never have known after stepping inside. The space inside feels like many other KBBQ places. The variety here is pretty good. You can choose the hotpot or the Korean BBQ. For $5 more, you can have both! The only complaint I have is that the entire table has to choose the same options. This is completely understandable because of sharing and people working the system. They have all the meats you would need. Everything we ordered came out quickly and in good portions. My personal favorite is the beef tongue. The Korean short ribs are also really good. I'd probably rank this currently as my favorite spot for KBBQ. The service here was really good. My own complaint is where the hot pot was located on the table compared to the grill I was struggling to manage both but that's more of a me issue than anything. My mom's favorite items were steak and shrimp and I loved the sweet potato, zucchini and quail eggs. She got the Tom yum soup based and said it was very flavorful and had the right amount of heat. Tried this place a week ago and had been to pizza ranch before in the same location and could not even recognize the place. It looks amazing inside. The staff is also very friendly and genuinely want you to enjoy your experience a change from the hot pot place in Roseville where you are kind of on your own after being seated. The hot pot was ok the broth we had was the miso, pork bone, Sichuan, and Tom yum. The miso was the best QBs had good flavor. The rest of them were honestly lacking flavor and needed manipulation of the sauces at the bar to get it good. Would probably stick to just the bbq as of all the hot pots this one would rank in the last spot (Asia mall hot pot, shinh wa, J pot). The bbq on the other hand was spot on and very good with great flavor and good options. We tried J Pot today, which our server said is the 4th day being open. We walked in at 12:30 on a Sunday. When we walked in there were many open tables! The person that sat us said they've been so busy since they opened and in about 30 minutes people would have to wait for a table. I'm glad we got there when we did! I thoroughly enjoyed J Pot! We were sat in this secluded back room with only 3 tables, it was great! We were able to chat amongst ourselves without it being too loud or anything. Our service was still great and attentive and the robots still could find our table with no issues! We did the hotpot and kbbq. So glad we did! On the weekends you pay dinner prices all day so for the adults it was $37.95 each and my 6 year old was only charged $8.95 (was expecting more based off their website). I did the Tom yum base for the hotpot. The others in my group did traditional, mushroom, pork bone, and traditional Szechuan. Everyone enjoyed their broth. Nothing was surprising about the meats or veggies that came with the hotpot. The one surprising part about the kbbq is that the NY Strip is a big piece of meat for Kbbq, especially an AYCE place. Personally, the NY strip wasn't my favorite but it was good. My favorite would have to be the short rib with the beef bulgogi as a close second. I should start by disclosing that our visit today was only my second time enjoying hotpot/kbbq and the first for my husband. So needless to say, we are learning! Our friends recommended J Pot, and we're so glad they did! We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened and were seated right away. But, the restaurant filled in pretty quickly. She didn't rush us or show any impatience as we navigated the menu (there are so many things to look at and choose from!) The individual style hotpot is definitely something I prefer, as I am a bit more selective in my vegetables and even protein. It's nice not feeling like the group is missing out because of me! The broths were delivered to our table, as we were selecting meats/vegetables for the kbbq...personally, we thought it was perfectly timed. The portion sizes were great! We went on a Wednesday night at about 6pm and it was the perfect time to be seated immediately. The server was very attentive and walked us through the process. We only did hotpot, but will definitely be back to do the BBQ. The food selection was very good and the quality of foods was good. It also has a good variety of fruits that were perfectly ripe. I came here on a Sunday mid-afternoon. It was busy. I was seated promptly. There was a slight delay to get drink orders because my server was busy with another table. Server was friendly. The server stopped by to get my food orders a few times. No tablet to order from like Shinhwa Korean BBQ (Roseville) or Upin Hot Pot (Brooklyn Center). They also have a robot server roaming around and it plays Super Mario Kart theme song. The buffet cart had a variety of fruits, vegetables, and sauces. They have this cool sign on mixing sauces. They even have a freezer filled with ice cream! When I ordered the prime brisket, there was 10 slices that came out. (In the photo attached, I already put 3 slices in the pot.) Unlike Shinhwa, you actually pay after dining and it looks like there is a 15% server charge, which is fine. I noticed excellent teamwork when turning over tables.
