The sandwich of all time man. I been thinking about it all day long. One thing I wish they had DoorDash cuz I do live far from it.

I love this place. My aunt lives less than a block from here and I don't know why I never stopped in sooner. Nothing Is better than getting quality local meats at the same price, less, or close to other major grocery store chain meat prices. We got over 15lbs of meat for $60. Not to forget to mention, other people must think it's a good butcher too because the place was PACKED. THE ASTHETIC inside is very meat like and they have a butcher knife as the door handle to open. They sell every cut if meat you could think of. They also sell BBQ meats that they BBQ. read more

Butcher shop. Decorated cool inside. Can order sides to go. This time tried the tasty but overpriced excalibur sandwich. Tony Cu reviewed the sandwich at 20 bucks and the shop jacked up the price 5 bucks. Many folks complain about this. Overall above average food. FYI no place to sit inside. Crowded with displays (a bit claustrophobic) read more

We are visiting from from CA and saw a few of these viral videos and it's just a few blocks from where we're staying. Its on the corner in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking. We got there around 11:45AM on a Sunday. It was pretty busy, and we waited about 10-15 minutes. You grab a little slip at the counter and fill out your order, the guy behind the counter did it for me on our visit. This is a straight up legit butcher shop with, lots of special cuts, seasoning, sauces, hot sides and tons of stuff in between. There is no seating inside and it's a bit of tight space. We got the Excalibear (bone in) which comes with pickles, onions and cream cheese, no modifications are allowed. Excalibear Sandwhich 4.5 Stars - this thing is huge and comes on a large soft French bread halve. The meat was really flavorful, tender, and not overly juicy/wet. And that fat, it was rendered down perfectly. I didn't get any real flavor from the cream cheese or onion, but the pickle was a nice break in the sweet BBQ sauce. I would have loved a little bit of heat in there. Pecan Butter Cheesecake - 3 Star - a good size slice with a chocolate graham(?) crust and topped with ribbons of pecan Carmel-esque cream. It's from an outside vendor so I don't think it's made in house. Very rich but not to sweet. We called later in the day to see if we could order over the phone, we couldn't and they can (and did) sell out already. read more

Had a brisket sandwich. It is amazing. Definitely 2 servings size sandwich. The guys behind the counter are great and knowledgeable It is a small place with no seating besides a picnic table outside. Only other downside was selection for beverages. read more

This place is WILD! The sandwiches are sensationally delicious, especially the Excalibear- a ginormous short rib sandwich with pickles and barbecue. It's insanely, ridiculously good. Seriously check this place out; I can't wait to try other things!! read more

Went recently for the Excalibur & a pulled porchetta sandwich. I don't feel like the portions were as stacked as you see some of the local food influencers get, but other than that it's a great place. Don't plan to eat there at a table, there's one outside and I can't recall if there were any inside but it's small & if there's a crowd you're packed in there. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, they were crazy busy but you'd never tell if they were stressed or overwhelmed. We will definitely be down to try again, when we are in the area next! read more

I have been there twice both times treated like a king. I will be going back again. I just wished they offered a senior discount.

Me and the family decided to head down and see the boys at White Bear Butchery to try their viral Excalibur sandwiche. This beauty consisted of 10 hour smoked beef rib, pickles, onion and crème cheese all on a French baguette. Let me tell you every bite was absolutely amazing! Do yourself a favor and go grab one asap! read more

I absolutely love this meat market and it is well worth a trip - even if you have to go out of your way to get there. Every single one of the staff that works there is so so friendly and helpful. This is a local owned butcher shop and it is always evident that they care immensely for their customers. Their selection is amazing and if there's something that you don't see that you want, they probably will go out of their way to get that for you! Besides the meat market part of it, they also have a really great sandwich selection for made to order sandwiches and a hot selection. Their smoked brisket and ribs are second to none. This is a comfortable place and super clean! Absolutely def recommend! read more

Flicker meats - now white bear butchery This place is tremendous. The staff always seems to be having a good time and are very helpful. My wife and I love to come here for a sandwich. The meat is great too but the sandwiches are the real standout. They are some of the best I've had. They are are like a work of art and seem to be made with care and not just slapped together. We can easily split one between the two of us but I've also polished one off on my own. We most recently had the porketta and I'd recommend you anyone. The interior of the store is pretty fun too. read more

This place is actually pretty damn amazing. The details of the decor they put in to this place are absolutely gorgeous, unique and clever or shall I say "cleaver". Service was attentive from everyone. So many delicious items to choose from there. I came specifically to grab a sandwich after doing a quick search online, knowing I would be in the area. An fyi for first timers, there's a little form at the first counter on the right, just after you walk in. Use a form for each sandwich you'd like, hand it to the person behind the counter and wait for them to call your name. I am so pleasantly surprised at how delicious the sandwich was. The bread, THE BREAD, was perfectly toasted but not hard. It was crispy, yet light and airy--so good. It looks super bready but it was not. The crust on their brisket, chef's kiss. My son even grabbed a White Bear Butchery cap cause they've got it all here. Needless to say, I will be back and look forward to trying more things. read more

Stopped in a couple times and had a great experience. They got a little bit of everything in this place even though it's a smaller size store there's a lot to look at .All the employees are super friendly and helpful. Grant in the back is super awesome friendly, and customer driven . Both times I went He offered to cut me any thickness I want. I got ribeye steak and they both came out fabulous tasted so good off the grill.! read more

First time here to get the Excalibear sandwich because of a video I saw online. I've lived near here for a long time and didn't know it had sandwiches as well. This place was packed and all ordering the same sandwich to which I waited an hour and 10 minutes for from order to hand off. I also got the pork & hog. Both sandwiches did not disappoint. Between myself, my husband and our 17 year old, we were full!! Very generous with the meat and the seasonings and toppings were perfection. $38 for 2 sandwiches but was worth it. This is a must visit. Also tons of fresh and frozen options along with snacks and condiments to purchase. read more

Although the reviews are good, they closed the sandwiches down and only had 2 hot entrees left by 3pm.

Ordered a Meat And Cheese Tray for a friend's Holiday Party. Customer Service Noah was very helpful walking me through the choices. Awesome presentation and I got rave reviews over the quality of the product from people vs. somebody else that brought a different meat & cheese tray from a competitor. Flicker Meat has a great vibe to it and offers so much selection from Butcher Shop, to sandwiches, slaws and more. They know their stuff and have a passion for it. Thanks again and I'll be back soon. Phenomenal food! Stopped in finally after moving into the area and their giant sandwiches are actually amazing for the price. The sandwich process is easy enough with fill out forms to give to them. They do not skimp out on any meat or toppings and it's super filling, worth every bite! I also tried their ribs with a side and they definitely know what they're doing. The shop itself is super cozy with a lot of character and the employees are really helpful, always making sure you know they're ready to help you out. I even noticed they sell homemade pet food while I was checking out the stock. Lots of unique things to look for and buy, I'm so happy I found this place and plan to doing try their new lunch box meal soon! read more

I was in the area. A thrift store I hoped to shop at was closed. I had to ask the prices of smoked bones, beef trachea, etc. A small sign would have made sense. Bought my dog a small beef trachea which he scarfed down in the car. It was 68 cents. Bought spouse Swedish potato sausage. I bought maple and teriyaki pineapple sticks. These were ok, prices seemed super expensive. They have their own salsas and sauces. Too far away to be a regular stop for me. [23] read more

I absolutely love this place. The jerky/beef sticks are quite a bit more spendy then some other meat shops I've been to but the quality here is just amazing. From the dog bones my big puppy loves to the excalibear that I just tried the other day.. Oh that brisket!! The people that work there have a great sense of humor and look like they all really enjoy their jobs, which is always a good sign. read more

Butch the Bear marks the spot! It is recent polar bear statue erected at the front of the store. Thoroughly impressed with this butcher that I visit weekly. Every single staffer is engaged and enthusiastic about their work. They make an effort to greet and make sure your order is how you want it. And I will add that even though they don't know my name, they definitely know my face and are great at predicting my order. The quality of ground beef is far superior than anything you could get at ALDI or Cub. Once you eat it, it is very hard to eat any other type of ground beef. As a bonus, they have a delicious sample section more generous than anything Costco could offer, usually a beef stick and a slow cooker sausage. read more

Food: Amazing! We get most of our meat from them and it is always top tier! I will say that their GF bread for their sandwiches are not the best, but thats just me. Service: A great company with friendly staff! Ambiance: Unique, very much a meat place. The bear outside is great as well. read more

What an experience! I was at the liquor store nearby and could SMELL the smoked meats from Flicker and had to pop in. Needless to say I'll be back. While I haven't tried any of the meats, there's a sandwich bar that is absolutely primo. I got the Supreme Turkey and added horseradish, it was so good. The bread was soft and fresh, Turkey tasted like it was just shaved a second ago and the bacon was thick and almost tasted candied. 10/10! The place is filled with old pictures of the owners and feels like a time capsule. read more

Best butcher shop in White Bear Lake! Jeremy and staff always go above and beyond! Plus, FREE samples!

Favorite butcher in the area. Superior Customer Service from everyone inside. Knowledgeable about their meats and how to cook them. They will walk you out with larger orders too. Pepperoni sliced how you like it along with so many brat choices. They make some takeaway brisket which is a very good and the ribs sell out fast! My Mom loves the seafood salad. Great selection of fresh meats to grill along with bread, frozen meats, chips, spices, sauces, grill accessories and accompaniments. They have it all! read more

I have not been disappointed when buying my meats from Flicker Meats. The owner has given me great advice on smoking and choosing the beef or pork. Oh, and the Christmas smoked hams are out of this world!! You will not be disappointed. read more

Good service, friendly staff. Usually a good selection. Prices seem high compared to other neighborhood meat shops in the metro area.

10/10 recommend I've been here a few time and keep trying different things and each time it's phenomenal!!!! Also they they have elk

Flicker in WBL is a destination meat shop. Their meast selection is excellent and everything I've tried is fantastic. I always stop here for my briskets, steaks, chops, and pork shoulder. Don't skip their house cured bacon and their amazing deli meat selection. Delicious. Besides excellent product, Flicker is just a fun place to stop. The store is packed with interesting products and fun decor. You can tell they have fun running this shop. They are known for their friendly and knowledgable staff. The owner/manager, Jeremy, knows how to prepare everything. We love Rib Thursdays and their BBQ meat trays are excellent, and a great deal. read more

The Thursday ribfest is what got my interest up. Never been to this side of WBL. Two types. The main one is a big block of ribs. This has quite a thick, spicy dry rub. It's not the easiest to eat, but still very good. I loved the spare ribs as well. They have a cool freezer section and the Shepard's pie looks good for future dinners. They carry cool stuff like Entemann's baked goods. I tried 2 deli salads potato was standard deli type. So was the macaroni with the sweet dressing. I didn't like the peas in it. Usually it's got some crunch like carrots and peppers. The baked beans were loaded with pieces of bacon. It's sweet like I prefer it. Sounds strange, but I'd prefer less bacon and more beans. The corn bread was the star for me. They carry vegetables which is handy. I like that the deli meat is right as you walk in. A young lad helped me carry everything to the trunk. The rib carrier was huge and I got the small one. A true old fashioned deli. read more

This is the best butcher on the east side of the Twin Cities. They smoke and make all their own meats and jerkies. Great mix for f beef and pork options, including waygu. Got a groupon for Flicker's Meat Market Jerky Package for $25, and it was the best $25 ever spent (and I'm a lover of Groupon). You get spicy beef jerky, a bunch of nummy chicken, turkey and beef jerky sticks of a variety of spicy-levels, and chicken jerky. Aside from the groupon, I also got some of the beef jerky teriyaki flavor, and the spicy beef jerky and they were also amazing. I will be going back for checking out the pork loins and other meat products. They also have freshly ground local beef, and everyone at the store was super friendly and helpful! P.S. Added bonus: there are samples to munch on at the store!!!! read more

I showed up it flickers meat five minutes after closing, didn't think that I was going to get a response at all from the door, but the young man let me in for just a brief shop about. They were so helpful they did not seem to be just pushing me out the door they were truly friendly. I'm a big fan of macaroni and salad and homemade salads I will tell you right now that it is one of the best store-bought macaroni salad as you could find. The beef jerky's are amazing. I would go on and on about how friendly their staff is. I will be there on many occasions. read more

I love Flicker. We got a meat and cheese tray at Christmas that was so good if you weren't standing right next to it when it was brought out, you were out of luck. It was like a pack of hyenas on an antelope. Luckily we had picked up a few additional packs of beef sticks so we had reserves. When you walk in you are immediately hit with the smell of smoked meat. Everywhere you turn you are confronted with delicious looking options. I want to try everything. We picked up some lamb and steak today for dinner tonight, we'll see how it is, I'm sure the meat will be great at least, the rest is in the cook's (my) questionably capable hands. read more
