Porchetta
Mia H.

Went recently for the Excalibur & a pulled porchetta sandwich. I don't feel like the portions were as stacked as you see some of the local food influencers get, but other than that it's a great place. Don't plan to eat there at a table, there's one outside and I can't recall if there were any inside but it's small & if there's a crowd you're packed in there. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, they were crazy busy but you'd never tell if they were stressed or overwhelmed. We will definitely be down to try again, when we are in the area next!

This place is actually pretty damn amazing. The details of the decor they put in to this place are absolutely gorgeous, unique and clever or shall I say "cleaver". Service was attentive from everyone. So many delicious items to choose from there. I came specifically to grab a sandwich after doing a quick search online, knowing I would be in the area. An fyi for first timers, there's a little form at the first counter on the right, just after you walk in. Use a form for each sandwich you'd like, hand it to the person behind the counter and wait for them to call your name. I am so pleasantly surprised at how delicious the sandwich was. The bread, THE BREAD, was perfectly toasted but not hard. It was crispy, yet light and airy--so good. It looks super bready but it was not. The crust on their brisket, chef's kiss. My son even grabbed a White Bear Butchery cap cause they've got it all here. Needless to say, I will be back and look forward to trying more things.

Flicker meats - now white bear butchery This place is tremendous. The staff always seems to be having a good time and are very helpful. My wife and I love to come here for a sandwich. The meat is great too but the sandwiches are the real standout. They are some of the best I've had. They are are like a work of art and seem to be made with care and not just slapped together. We can easily split one between the two of us but I've also polished one off on my own. We most recently had the porketta and I'd recommend you anyone. The interior of the store is pretty fun too.

Excalibear sandwich

First time here to get the Excalibear sandwich because of a video I saw online. I've lived near here for a long time and didn't know it had sandwiches as well. This place was packed and all ordering the same sandwich to which I waited an hour and 10 minutes for from order to hand off. I also got the pork & hog. Both sandwiches did not disappoint. Between myself, my husband and our 17 year old, we were full!! Very generous with the meat and the seasonings and toppings were perfection. $38 for 2 sandwiches but was worth it. This is a must visit. Also tons of fresh and frozen options along with snacks and condiments to purchase.

Meat and Cheese tray

Ordered a Meat And Cheese Tray for a friend's Holiday Party. Customer Service Noah was very helpful walking me through the choices. Awesome presentation and I got rave reviews over the quality of the product from people vs. somebody else that brought a different meat & cheese tray from a competitor. Flicker Meat has a great vibe to it and offers so much selection from Butcher Shop, to sandwiches, slaws and more. They know their stuff and have a passion for it. Thanks again and I'll be back soon. Phenomenal food! Stopped in finally after moving into the area and their giant sandwiches are actually amazing for the price. The sandwich process is easy enough with fill out forms to give to them. They do not skimp out on any meat or toppings and it's super filling, worth every bite! I also tried their ribs with a side and they definitely know what they're doing. The shop itself is super cozy with a lot of character and the employees are really helpful, always making sure you know they're ready to help you out. I even noticed they sell homemade pet food while I was checking out the stock. Lots of unique things to look for and buy, I'm so happy I found this place and plan to doing try their new lunch box meal soon!

Supreme Turkey sandwich

What an experience! I was at the liquor store nearby and could SMELL the smoked meats from Flicker and had to pop in. Needless to say I'll be back. While I haven't tried any of the meats, there's a sandwich bar that is absolutely primo. I got the Supreme Turkey and added horseradish, it was so good. The bread was soft and fresh, Turkey tasted like it was just shaved a second ago and the bacon was thick and almost tasted candied. 10/10! The place is filled with old pictures of the owners and feels like a time capsule.

Although the reviews are good, they closed the sandwiches down and only had 2 hot entrees left by 3pm.

Good service, friendly staff. Usually a good selection. Prices seem high compared to other neighborhood meat shops in the metro area.

I walked in and was greeted and 2 gentleman helped me as I was going to order 4 pounds of brisket and then after telling them what I wanted to do they recommended a chuck roast and that was exactly correct! I definitely mixed up the meat I needed to get but they helped. The prices were fantastic and they had such an assortment of meats to get their selection looked great! I definitely will be coming here again as I love supporting local and quality was fantastic! I'll leave you guys with a video of the chuck roast as it came out so tender and almost falling apart! Great quality meat and great customer service!

I absolutely love the duck! The fact they had duck!! Customer service was top notch can't forget about my new buddy in the glasses. This is my MF place!! Top spot on all of the street. I'm looking forward to trying more on my next visit. Basically cleared out the hot dogs the other day and I was like the first person in the shop lol sorry but not sorry. I didn't try them before but they were damn good and shouldn't of been that damn delicious and they have that snap too. I got a chuck roast too for later in the month or maybe I'll try to do easter? Is it beef or duck that they have on Easter I wonder.. either this place is the dream spot of the MEATS (PAUSE! LOL that's me being goofy). Young and older people should fully support this place. I recently moved here but this is my JAMMY JAM!! I wonder if they had meat jam or pickled onions? Honestly somebody to build a bakery and cheese shop nearby so you just get my meat, cheese and bread all on one perfect block. Might have to find a job or buy a house near this place. It's very rich, though, so you get a lot of flavor in a little bit, so it does last. My real find, though, was this Pork Tamale Handpie thing. I wish I could remember the name. The pork was flavorful and highly spiced, the dough flaky, and I don't know how they got the masa in there, but I could taste and feel it (you know that mouthfeel). It was buttery, flaky, crispy, spicy, meaty, and sweet all at the same time and I am positively obsessed. I was so glad to have decided to pick that one up. The store was lovely and the gentleman behind the counter was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. I will absolutely be back.

At lunch,…read morethere can be a mad rush for their classic roast beef sandwich, but the staff handles the crowd with efficiency and detail. I was on the street in front of Clancy's when one of their customers was mis-identified as an officer of an organization that was terrorizing Minneapolis. It had nothing to do with Clancy's! As I tried to get to my car, people yelled the most obscene and disgusting epitaphs at the couple in front of me. I was just walking down Grand Avenue. They were even spitting at this innocent individual. As a liberal who marched for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s, I was horrified. Blaming Clancy's is ignorant, and an integral part of how this country is dismantling. Clancy's Meats & Fish is important to our neighborhood, and represents the kindness and empathy that has been representative of Minnesota for decades. Give them your support.

On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.

You ask a question, they've got an answer. Ask another one, now you're learning about cuts you didn't even know existed and suddenly you're standing there reconsidering your entire weekend barbecue strategy like a man staring at religion through a glass display case. That's the problem with this place. You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab some hamburger and maybe a couple steaks," and five minutes later you want to leave with half the damn store. They've got custom sauces, spices, rubs, marinades, meat enhancements, all the stuff that turns a backyard cookout into the kind of meal where people stop talking for a minute after the first bite. I've been to a few butcher shops around the city, but Ready Meats feels different. No gimmicks. No artisanal nonsense. No guy in suspenders trying to sell you parsley foam for nineteen dollars.
