It's just a straight forward pizzeria with about 2 tables and a booth. I guess most carry out but I stay and eat. It's an excellent place, with excellent prices, and excellent quality pizza. It's a mix between NY Style and Costco's pizza. It's fantastic, I try to have it once a week every week because it's worth my cholesterol. read more

Pretty good. The crust was really exceptional. Chewy and yeasty with the perfect amount of cornmeal on the bottom. I prefer a tangy-er sauce and I like a saucier pie, but I'm guessing that the ingredient ratio offered here is actually more correct than my personal taste. I don't have anything to add about the service or ambience because my Mister just went and grabbed takeout. Mama's still has my heart, but this place is pretty close. read more

Pretty good NYC style slice. I prefer crispy crust the whole way through. Downside on this one was the dough under the toppings.. a little too wet for me but the crust on the edges was cooked well. My wife and I were in Oakdale Minnesota for an emergency vet appointment for our pup, and we're were craving some good pizza. We found this place on yelp and it had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. My only regret was not taking a picture to post, but alas we ate the whole pizza before we even got back to our hotel room. The place is small in a little strip mall type building, but the aroma of warm toasty pizza greets you like a warm hug when you open the door and step inside. They serve pizza by the slice, 2 slices and a drink for 6.99, or you can buy the whole pie ranging from $10.50-$20 depending on the type you order. When I tell you this is the best pizza I have ever had, I'm not lying. The pizza place is owned by a very sweet couple with strong Italian roots. The dough is made fresh by hand each morning, and then hand tossed to perfection. All the ingredients are always fresh and never frozen. The owner was a very sweet man, and definitely took notice when we returned the next day for more pizza. What can we say? It was just that good. I'm sad that we don't have this locally, I'll probably crave this place forever! So do yourself a favor and go get a slice or multiple pies like we did. I haven't driven through this neighborhood in a very long time but a week earlier I had dropped off some pants to be altered two doors down from Nino's. Was tempted then to buy a slice but didn't have time. I stopped today after picking up my pants and glad I did. I'm a simpleton and pepperoni is always a first try at any new-to-me pizza place. Nino's slice is delicious! When you tell him what you want, he quickly throws the slice back into the oven for a minute or two. Comes out hot. Why so great? Perfect amount of sauce and cheese but that crust, oh boy!, I haven't had anything locally like it. Thin but not too thin. And crunchy and just firm enough to hold the ingredients. I swallowed it all and will drive from Stillwater to buy more of this pizza soon. read more

Our recent move to the twin cities meant having the opportunity to explore a variety of eateries and feast on diversity. While we found a wood-fired pizzeria that served up ok pies, we've really been craving that slice of New York inspired pizza with perfect crust, sauce, cheese, ... After 6 months, I ventured in a different direction from the house and with 3 miles stumbled upon Nino's. First glance, I saw an okay little shop on the corner. When I walked in, the greeting of great pies by the slice were begging to be tried. Not yet. I ordered a whole pie and so glad I did! Hubby hails from NJ and my travels have let me sample the best in the east. What I found at Nino's did not disappoint and, in fact, surpassed expectations! Apologies for no pictures. The pie didn't last long. We'll be going back soon and I will definitely get some shots. A bit of background. Nino's opened up it's doors about 10 years ago. My husband was out of town, so I decided it was a pizza, movie, and tons of naps weekend for me. I was looking for a good pizza joint in my area and with all the great reviews I gave Nino's a shot. I called in my order for pick up, a medium pie with sausage, ricotta, and mushroom. The friendly girl that took my order said 20 to 25 minutes. I got there in that timeframe and still had to wait, it was well over 30 minutes for my pizza. While waiting I took in the dirty establishment. As another reviewer pointed out, there's a black fan that is actually gray now from its dust cover, blowing right over the food prep station. Along with that the counters were filthy. I'm now scared of getting food poisoning...but I ate my pizza anyway. The crust on the pizza was crispy and chewy, exactly how I like it. Toppings were fresh, but I was wishing for more ricotta. There were a couple sprinkles, and that was it. The mozzarella wasn't melted all the way, that was sort of a bummer. I don't know if I'll be back, had the place been clean it'd be more likely. read more
