They have a smaller shared parking lot. I had a great 1st experience here. I went with a friend and we did all you can eat BBQ & Hotpot. The servers were helpful and attentive. Hot Pot: my favorite broth was the Spicy Pure Green. I loved the veggie selection. BBQ: I am not the most skilled at bbq but it was fun. They came over and changed out hot plate twice. I would definitely return and I think it was worth it.

Finally made it to this hotpot restaurant, they now offer all you can eat. One option is $34.99 or you can have both for $39.99. Why not both?? We chose tom yum broth and pho, you can have up to 4 different broths. The sauce station is on the otherside of the restaurant next to the mini crane games. Restaurant is a good size, 1 table with the grill is to accommodate groups up to 4. The meats can be ordered with the servers that comes around. This restaurant shares another business next door - mochinut. So save room for some desserts too.

Soke BBQ and hotpot is located Brooklyn Park inside of Mochinut. It is a la carte menu so you can choose whatever you want! I usually only get the combination platter because it is a good deal for the amount they give. The plus side is the unlimited sides!! They go through cycles every week of different sides but that's what makes everything so good. There is a sauce bar too for you to make your own type of sauce. I always get the fried rice with the protein platter. I'm not a big fan on hotpot so I don't ever get that. Overall, I would try this place out. The workers are friendly, food is great and the restaurant is big and spacious. If you are craving a sweet treat, Mochinut is located right by so you can grab some mochi donuts or a drink!

Soke is a cute restaurant and it does hot pot and Korean bbq. You can have both at the same time. Since we often have hot pot at home, we decided went with Korean bbq only. The food is good, marinated raw meat seems fresh and they are great. Food selection can be widened for the kbbq. Also should be more clear on what we are ordering. Salad = lettuce leaves. Not salad. Service seems a little disorganized. Ordered some additional dishes and was asked by different employees and reconfirmed few times. After long wait, we were notified certain dishes was sold out. Arrange of the space May need some reconsiderations. The claw machines are right next to the kitchen and it's also leading to the restroom. Very heavy traffic and crowded.

I'm not able to recommend Soke enthusiastically. The first significant problem that Soke needs to address is their reservation system, or lack thereof. It is walk-in only - if you're going during normal dinner hours, you could wait over 1.5 hours to get a table. That was our experience for a table of four Saturday night. We weren't given a timeframe; we had to ask for updates 3 separate times. Not a great way to start a dining experience. By the time we were seated, some of us were hangry (to be expected). I noticed that some tables desperately needed to be bussed, with numerous plates piled high. Service is on the slow side. Banchans arrive in super small square plates. We were given 5 sides and it was like 1 micro bite for each of us. While refills are complimentary, it just doesn't seem efficient to have staff filling these small plates when you could give larger portions. That would satisfy both diners and minimize back and forth for staff. The sauce bar contains a good variety of condiments and make your own sauces but it was unkept. You could tell sauces had not been refilled and the counter was messy. Hot pot and bbq portions lean towards the small side and because if that, I would call Soke a moderately expensive meal. There's a good variety of vegetables and meat cuts but given the smaller portions, I felt prices were inflated and not worth the value. Along with the upfront wait, food also takes awhile to arrive. Surprisingly, the burners took much longer to heat up so it's all just one big waiting game. Lastly, because it's Korean bbq, just know your clothes are going to reek of meat and oil fumes afterwards. It smells delicious in the restaurant but everything you wear will carry a strong strong smell when you leave.

Extremely disappointed with the service I received. Not sure if it's because they just recently opened but I just expect better. They offer an à la carte menu so each side is individually price which does add up quickly. They do offer combos which is nice so you can try different options. You can also do hot pot + bbq! That's pretty cool. The broth was pretty yummy. They have a variety of options. Now the food was fine but it all went wrong when the server sat us at a station that wasn't fully working. The heat kept going out every time we just slightly moved the table. We called the server to help us and they fixed it but once again it went out and the server didn't come back until like an hour later. So our 'hot' pot was literally lukewarm for a good hour. Server comes back finally, messes with the table and it works for a bit but eventually turns off again. They also kept run away before we can even say anything. You think after the third time they would offer to move us to another table... but no. Our hot pot only got hot for a bit and then kept cooling down. They didn't even offer to comp a part of our bill after their mistake so we paid 200 dollars for cold pot? lol. It's really a bummer that we couldn't enjoy our hot pot. Please make sure your tables/heating actually work before offering such services and high prices. :/

OVERALL: I would highly recommend Soke. It's the only spot that does BBQ and hot pot! NEED TO KNOW: Yes, they have parking. Woo! Also, this is first-come first-serve only and no reservations. Take that into consideration as you make your plans (especially for groups!) It's also a la carte and not all you can eat. FOOD: I thought the ingredients were really fresh and the portion sizes were good! The broth is also so flavorful and I honestly think my top in the cities! We ordered Sichuan Spicy, Tom Yum, Miso, and Spicy Beef Satay. Spicy Beef Satay I think is my favorite of them all. SERVICE: the service was attentive and our waters were always full and our food came fast. Can't ask for much more! PRICING: Pricing is totally comparable to other a la carte hot pot places. We ordered quite a bit of food for 4 people and it was about $35ish a person. AMBIANCE: It was super clean and modern looking!

Food 4/5 - This was our first time at a Hotpot/BBQ spot and we absolutely loved the experience. I thought the portions were great and ingredients were fresh. The sauce bar was a great extra additive to the restaurant. Service / Ambiance 5/5 - The restaurant was clean and well laid out. The service was attentive and very helpful with questions. Highly recommend trying this place, we will be returning!

We came all the way from lowa to visit family and thought we'd check this place out for a late lunch (1pm) on a Sunday. We were charged for dinner menu which should have included a lobster tail and 8 oz ribeye. However, the ribeye was low quality and then we were told there's no lobster tail yet here we were paying premium price, nearly $40. And the more we ordered the less food we got. For example, we ordered shrimp and originally we got 6 shrimps then there after we got 4. We also ordered blue crab, the first order we ordered one order and got 2 crabs. Second order we ordered 2 orders again but only got 2 and was told one order is one crab. The service go poorer and sparse even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Then we had minors who didn't want the AYCE instead they wanted to order appetizers. Well they had to move the kids across the restaurant. Needless to say it was not a good experience.

    Kendal T.

First off, the venue is very nice and the concept is refreshing and convenient for groups. We got the Spicy pork bone and the tomato broth. We also got the protein combo (beef, pork belly, chicken, and honey comb), the veggie combo (corn, taro slices, Napa cabbage, etc), tofu combo, and mushrooms. Unfortunately, the heat didn't work for a while but the servers helped us out. The sauce bar had a solid variety and an assortment of fruits was definitely worth it to snack while waiting for the main dishes. Overall, the food was not bad. I wish there was more meat and that the chicken was cut thinner but the vegetables and the tofu was solid. Definitely gotta try the kbbq next. And don't forget the mochi donuts and boba!

Best broth bases - mala spicy, pork bone, and Tom yum are endorsed by me and my girlfriend Great foodstuffs - qual egg, udon noodles, good fatty beef, crab sticks, good old cabbage, tofu, bean curd, enoki mushroom etc - Lamb and pork are alright at this location, could be better Great sauce bar, as I can assemble my staples - Sauce 1: black vinegar, chili oil with flake, garlic oil with garlic, sesame oil, scallions, cilantro (about equal parts and adjust); season with sugar, salt and soy sauce if desired - Sauce 2: lots of sesame paste, and leave as is or maybe add scallions, chili oil, sesame seed **I do wish they had chive paste** - Sauce 3: Oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, cilantro, green onion, black vinegar Value - it's like 30-35 dollars a person here. - I often leave more satisfied here than I do after a "fancy" night on the north loop What's missing - ambiance is okay - I do like a huge communal pot - Chive flower paste - Pork and lamb could be better - Broths are good, but I like the Chicago restaurants best Local hot pot honorable mentions - the place at Asia Mall with the electric rack innovation - Legendary Spice - you are free to grab a tray and raid their fridges/freezers for whatever meat, vegetable, etc you want. It was our first experience at a Hot Pot spot, so the server explained the menu and took our drink order. He also informed us where we could find the sauce bar (near the entrance) if we wanted sauces. Good. We ordered and received the Hot Pot bases and all of the toppings relatively quickly. The server turned on the bbq pit thing in the center of the table once the proteins arrived. Great! The table ordered Original, Miso, Kimchi (best favor), and Tom Thai. Most of the flavors were bland at best, except the Kimichi, which was too spicy for most of the table but it was tasty! Bc I was sharing a pot with someone that can't tolerate spicy, I didn't get that base. We tried the soup bases. Meh... Everyone added proteins and veggies to their soups. 6 out of 7 people were disappointed with the hot pots. The common complaint was "this doesn't have flavor." We had two 10 years that enjoyed watching the squid tentacles curl in the soup but not the soup, specifically bc it was bland. This was true for most of us at the table. The beef, chicken and pork all had a mild fishy taste but lacked beef, chicken, or pork flavor. I cooked the protein on the little table grill with chopsticks (we weren't provided with tongs) but again, no flavor. I went to the sauce bar for the table (I found the tongs there). We were told about the sauce bar but not about the tongs, which made my personal experience laborious bc I was one of two people decent with chopsticks at our table. Anyways, sauce bar. Got sauces. Sauces didn't help cover the fish taste. Nor did the sauce help the already cooked protein taste good. The ambiance was smoky, probably due to the grills on the table but of our guests had to leave bc the smoke gave him a headache. The started off nicely but as the meal progressed the server never came to refill drinks or inquire about our meal. He didn't provide recommendations to get the best experience and he didn't provide serving utensils. All in all, I don't recommend. I would like a refund but based on the lack of serve (especially knowing this was our first experience at a Hot Pot spot), I didn't feel comfortable saying anything and I didn't feel like being upset. We just decided to not return and leave a review. Passive, yes, but the experience remained underwhelming not overwhelming. ALSO, you get ice cream bars at the end of your meal! They didn't tell us that! But I saw so many other guests eating them and we were still hungry, I asked if they were included in our PREMIUM DINNER. Ice cream was included. No one told us until we asked. We spent close to $300 dollars for this meal and we received subpar serve and subpar fishy food. I don't recommend.
