Hadn't been here in decades, mostly because I was unimpressed the first time I went. This time however, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and food. We went with a group for a birthday celebration. It's pricey, but you get a lot of food; we could barely finish the dessert course. Cocktails were good and not badly priced. A Caprese salad was a good start with pretty flavorful tomatoes and a good Mozzarella. We had two types of cheese fondues to start; a traditional French style and one that was more Italian. Both were very yummy. For the entrees, we got one pot of oil and another of wine, along with a nice variety of meats and veggies. It was fun to mix and match everything with the different hot liquids, although I have to admit that I couldn't really tell the final results apart. It was all delicious. For dessert, we got two different chocolate pots that are served with some very good desserts like brownies, blondies, and such. Who can argue with two pots of molten chocolate?! Service was exceptional.

I loved my meal and my experience at The Melting Pot! I think the key to enjoying The Melting Pot is to go with 6-8 people and for a celebration. In this case, I went for my birthday with 7 friends and we got to try so many different things. We also got our own little room which was fun and felt very private and the service was fantastic. It was the first time for everyone here so the server explained how it works and we ended up doing all the courses. This is what we got: 1st Course: Cheese - Wisconsin Cheddar 5/5 - Spinach and Artichoke 4/5 - Fiesta 4/5 2nd Course: Salads, everyone picks their own. Honestly, this course wasn't anything special and we could've gone without 3rd Course: Entree, everyone picks their selection of meat (or vegetarian option) - Mojo 5/5 - Traditional Oil 5/5 - Grill 4/5 * The best meats for us were teriyaki steak, filet steak, and shrimp (especially breaded with tempura and panko) 4th Course: Chocolate - S'mores 5/5 - Turtle 4/5 - Cookies and Cream 4/5 I also got 6 free chocolate dipped strawberries for being part of their rewards for my birthday. Having 3 options for each course was the perfect amount of food for 7 people, we finished almost everything each round. This is definitely a special occasion place as the prices are a little steep but the experience is worth it. The food is good but you are also paying for the experience of doing fondue! They have a well oiled system and leave you plenty of time to eat your food.

Had a fabulous dinner here on Monday night. Our sever Ethan was fantastic! He helped us with suggestions and was very attentive! We got the 50th anniversary special 4 course for 2 and left with full bellies! We were able to choose a cheese fondue of our choice, a salad, entrees and cookie style (we went with the broth) and then a chocolate dessert fondue to round off your meal. I loved all the different sauce options we were given and the dippers for the chocolate fondue was my favorite! The restaurant itself was clean and not too crowded. Loved the little stove top at each table! There was a parking ramp in the same building and was only $5 to park all night. Close walking distance to many Minneapolis attractions.

We have been wanting to try this place for years and finally we made reservations for Mother's Day! They can accommodate large groups. When you make reservations you can pay extra for a bouquet of flowers or other decorations for special occasions. There is an outdoor pay parking lot across the street or a connected parking ramp. Since it was Mother's Day, the menu was limited compared to the original menu but it still had four courses. With six people we had two cooktops at the table, so we got to choose two different cheeses, two cooking styles for the meats, and two chocolates at the end. This made it fun to try different flavors/styles from the menu. Our server explained our options and how everything worked as far as using the utensils and cooking styles. The classic option for the meat entree is a great one to try out various meats from the menu. The steak was a fav from the table, especially braised in the coq au vin broth. The entree also came with zucchini, mushrooms and potatoes to cook up. It is a little tedious to sit and wait for the items to cook (2-3minutes each piece, we used our phone timers) but that's also the experience and kind of fun to cook your own meats at the table. You also only get three pokers so you can only cook three items at a time. Each persons pokers are colored so you won't forget whose piece is whose when it's sitting in the broth cooking. The chocolate at the end was really good to finish off the courses. I felt the food wasn't standout but the unique experience was. So, I assume that's apart of the higher prices. It was $64 a person and we were plenty full at the end. It was a really enjoyable experience and can see this being a fun place for special occasions.

Tried this place for the first time for restaurant week and had the best time! The host/manager with the most epic mustache sat us and was amazing from the start and helped with service throughout the evening! The server was incredible and great at explaining things for us and really helped us with what to get as we had a vegetarian in our group. The ambiance was great, we had a street view that was an all glass and quite entertaining to be honest with people walking by. We got a chicken, pork and shrimp entree, an all steak entree and an all veggie with one mushroom ravioli entree. We started with a yummy cheese blend and had veggies and breads to dip. We enjoyed that! The meats were great aside from the chicken, that was not our favs. The veggies were good and took a little longer to cook and everything was planned out through an app. They all had a preset timer you use through your phone which made it very easy. The dessert was my fav! It had pumpkin, and white chocolate mixed with spices. We dipped cookies, marshmallows, rice crispy treats and fruit in it and had even more toppings to dip as well. Parking was easy there was a lot across the street or street metered parking. The overall experience was really fun!

This place is so fun. I had never been to a fondue place before and this was a great first experience. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. You make some choices for each course: cheese, salad, main course, and dessert. A great experience!

FOOD: Overall, the food was pretty good. We did the complete dinner for 2 and got: - Cheese: Wisconsin trio - Salad: Bacon & Bleu Spinach - 2 Entrees: the classic and steak lovers - Cooking style: Court Bouillon - Chocolate: the original I really liked the pretzel bread they served with the cheese fondue. The salad was also good. It was really easy to overcook the food. They did have a timer to help out, but it's easy to lose track. My favorite chocolate fondue is also the s'mores one, which they do not serve at this location, so that was a bummer SERVICE: They were very quick. But it almost felt like they were rushing to get us out. Our waitress seemed to be overworked or overwhelmed, but she was very nice. I used to go to the Melting Pot a lot and I'm not sure if it's different in different locations or if they have just changed. At the Schaumburg, IL location, they would melt the cheese in front of you and put the chocolate on fire. None of that happened at this Minneapolis location. It felt like part of the experience was lost. It added to the high class feeling and elevated the ambiance when these things were done.

A nice fondue place but service destroyed the mood. I had the create your own entry. The beef was very tender if you cook it around medium rare. It becomes harder as it's cooked. The pepperred one was good but I think the rub beef didn't go well with the broth. The salmon was very nice too. The protein portion was not large for the price but the veggie portion made me full. The potato takes a long time so cook them first thing. I had the signature wine broth. It doeen't have a lot of taste. There were 6 sauces (exotic combo like yogurt + curry). I didn't like any of them and would rather have simple mustard. Overall, the meat for the fondue was the best thing of the dish. My server coughed like crazy when taking my order. She was really apologizing and I didn't want to be rude and asked to change the server but it's not pleasant at all. She coughed continuously for almost a minute at my table. At least a mask would be appreciated in that situation. Oh, the glass was not very clean.

It was restaurant week and my birthday so my son and I checked out The Melting Pot. Dinner started off with a Caesar salad which was good but the Parmesan pine nuts were difficult to manage and too sweet. We got the co que van broth and we both agreed the teriyaki sirloin was the best. The chicken seems low quality and the shrimp was just ok. We loved the garlic seasoning and put it on everything. We got the Dulce chocolate fondue which was delicious but we were stuffed. Service was great and it was a fun experience.

Definitely one of the better options for special occasions, This restaurant has your mouth watering from first glance at the menu and leaves you in a food fog/coma for hours! Very convenient parking across the street. We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here tonight. Their Big Night Out Dinner Meal for 2 was more ample and we stumbled out with full bellies and hearts. Amazing staff that all worked together to make our evening memorable. What we chose is in each photo. The ambiance was amazing as we sat in the booths facing the street. A MUST of you enjoy people watching A great place for celebrations!! Thank you, Austin, for a great evening!!

Came here on a snowy day for lunch, and had a most wonderful experience! We had the three-course lunch set menu for two, with salad, the first fondue pot with bread and veggies, the second savory pot with meat, seafood and all the goodies, and the third pot which is chocolate. Simply amazing and out of this world. This is our first experience at Melting Pot even though we've had various Asian style hot pots and Swiss fondue experiences. Love the variation among the three different pots here. Service was attentive, efficient, non-intrusive but friendly, and top notch. Restaurant wasn't full (if that was a factor). Their booth style seating was great for groups and even couples (just two people). We had a booth facing the big window; perfectly positioned to take in the snowy view and blue sky.

The perfect date night! My boyfriend and I went for a dinner date and the food and service were amazing! The whole place was dim lit and set for a romantic evening. We chose to do the 4 course dinner meal and selected the cheese, type of cooking style for meat, salad and dessert. It was all amazing and the staff really did a great job at catering to us. The only problem we had was that there was not a convenient spot for free parking since it was downtown, so we had to park in a pay lot a block away. Overall would recommend for a special occasion, since it was a little pricey!

My husband said he enjoyed his chalet sliders. The oysters were good and I'm glad I tried them during happy hour for a fraction of the cost. I was really disappointed with the French onion soup. I tried to add salt and pepper but it just wasn't cutting it. The halibut was delicious and the asparagus were perfectly cooked, along with the couscous.
