If I could give no stars I would have. Currently, J Nail is running both Groupon and Living Social offers. I purchased a Groupon, made an appointment, and anticipated a relaxing mani/pedi. When I arrived at the appointment the entire place was in an upheaval as they were in the midst of a renovation. Therefore, no appointment. I asked the owner why the man who answered the phone took my appointment. She had no answer. So if you live in the LaGrange area, don't purchase a voucher for this place as it will not be honored. To add insult to injury, this was a pre cruise appointment.

Nail

Went there with a friend and absolutely horrendous, all nails were wonky and bumpy, I asked for a simple design with a few lines and they could do that. It looks egg yolk running off my nails because they were buffed or filed correctly. Only did one coat because there lazy and you can see shadows because it's only one coat.

frosty finger feet, happy friendly family, twin beauties birthdays **new owners!** 5 stars & a bonus haiku! this family-owned business is newer but don't let that stop you. the owners are warn and inviting. very professional practice. I've never had someone use such patience and attention to detail as Vivian. She even used a mini brush to softly & meticulously wipe away any excess nail polish on the skin near my nails. Her twin sister, Helen is full of smiles. Helen's husband loves sports. He was so accommodating, he turned both tvs to the Chicago hears game for my aunt. This family is generous, kind, and happy to offer professional suggestions to enhance your experience or provide additional comfort and pampering. The price of their services are affordable (certainly far more affordable than my NYC home lol) but the level of care and softness is something that can't be bought. This family brings such a pleasant atmosphere to their work environment.

The manicure I received here

They kinda rushed. My nails don't look that great. I'm a little bit sad and disappointed. Like part of the polish is missing (picture included). It's not a chip, it was done like that. Some techs are better than others, it's kind of a 50 50 shot whether your nails will look good. The prices are expensive too especially considering the quality of the work. The only redeeming qualities are it is much better than if I did my nails at home and the boss seems very nice and sweet.

Always the best with J.Nails thanks Guys for Making this 36 week Pregnant lady Happy and feel so Relaxed!!!!

Skill set could be improved. Honestly, the employees were nice. I enjoyed the pedicure, it was…read moregood. First things first though, when I got in I explained how I wanted my old set removed and wanted a new set and pedicure. They sit me at a station, I show my nail inspo picture and (i forget his name) is looking at my nails and explaining to me that I should just get a fill, that my previous set still looks good and I would save money. So after going back and forth a little I settled and was convinced that I'll keep what I have and get the fill. He efiles off my previous no chip polish and we go do the pedicure. No complaints on the pedicure other than the paint job and nail cutting. We go back to his nail station he preps the nails and he filed off some of the old acrylic as well as filing down my previous almond shaped nails to square shape. He then applies new acrylic and gets started on painting. As seen in the inspiration photo, two nails are French tip. The first coat of polish for the French tip he did was this clear with a hint of pink. He got done with one hand and had me go under the light to cure while starting the next hand.. When that was done I took my hand out to check how the work came out and I expressed to him how the base color for the French tip is too light, that I can see a harsh line from my old acrylic to the new acrylic he applied for the fill. He told me at least 3 times, "you can't see it" and tried to apply the same colored coat to show me it's covering it up. (When it wasn't) That is ultimately what made me suggest just doing my whole hand one color, but not the whole reason. His French tip, wasn't even really a French tip.. it hardly had any curve to it and it was super thick on the sides and just abruptly stopped, it didn't flow or taper off down the sides. (Which I was willing to live with) The last thing that made me completely switch what I wanted was the ring finger, the curved line that he applied to my nail was super thick and just nothing like the inspo pic. I am all for getting my nails done in the realm of what the nail tech can do. I showed him my inspo pic and he never mention he couldn't do it, I would have happily done something more simple if needed. We both spent extra time in his chair fixing/redoing something that may have been able to be avoided. Lastly which is what really made me want to make this review is the quality of the paint job. My nails are so thick and uneven it's crazy. I'm not sure if that's partially due to the acrylic application/filing or if it's more so how thick he applied the no chip. Outside of that, on multiple nails the no chip is on top of my cuticle or off to the side onto my skin. I can already tell at least 2 of the nails he did are going to start peeling up near my nail bed and my hair will get caught underneath and pulled out due to his application. I paid $110 before tip for a no chip pedicure, fill with no chip, and cuticle cut and it was definitely not worth it. I went to this salon because the reviews I seen online were all so good, I had high hopes. Sucks that this was the experience I got.

They take their time and they are always so kind. They do a great job and always seem to go above…read moreand beyond
