I have been seeing Violet for a few years now, so this review is long overdue. I schedule a visit…read moreevery few months for a PCA chemical peel and I have seen continuous improvement in my skin's texture and clarity. I just turned 50 and these treatment have slowed down signs of aging that accelerated in my late 40s. Violet is not only a lovely, kind, gentle person; she is also well trained and highly skilled. She has an RN degree, so you can trust her to know skin inside and out. She said she will soon offer microneedling, and I look forward to giving that a try. I wouldn't go to any other aesthetician for such a procedure. I trust Violet: she knows my skin. You can get the most out of her services by visiting regularly, because she refines her treatments as she gets to know your skin and how it reacts. I especially appreciate patronizing a woman-owned business. Violet owns the salon and her services are affordable: She offers excellent value for the price. I have had $90 peels where the aesthetician just basically put the chemicals on my face and I was out the door. Not Violet: Her peel includes a full facial, including pore extractions. A note on extractions: On a first or second visit, extraction of deeply-clogged pores can be a bit painful, but after the first or second facial, it becomes much more comfortable because the pores are clearer and skin becomes more resilient. It's worth it to tolerate the initial discomfort. I've never ended up with zits after one of Violet's facials, which I've experienced at other spa salons. My skin looks great, even right after a peel. Violet closely monitors the process of a chemical peel so that you get the full benefit with the least possible reaction. For me, I experience a little skin tightness right after the treatment and light peeling on the 3rd or 4th day, like after a mild sunburn, but for me, it's a mild treatment that significantly improves skin quality and appearance. If you've been afraid to try a chemical peel, fear not: Violet is the best! She'll take good care of you and your skin. Her facials are great, too. . . especially for clogged pores. . .but for long-term benefit of aging skin, I highly recommend regular chemical peels at Spa Vie.

Ok, so let me just say, this is my first time writing a review for anything. But for Broken Nail Boutique, I just had to. I can honestly say it is the ONLY place I will ever go to get my nails or hair done. First off: nails. I am known to pick off every single manicure I get. I could scrape off any gel polish within 3 days. I was the master of destroying my nails. That is until I got my nails done here. Every manicure I have received from Broken Nail Boutique has been fantastic, especially the no-chip. Also, every manicurist has been incredibly kind and friendly. Going here is simply a joyful experience. Second: hair. Now I have never really gotten my "done" before, but for prom I figured why not? And boy was it worth it. Tiffany was so enthusiastic and a joy to talk to, everything you want out of a hairdresser. Oh and my hair looked AMAZING (I guess that's kind of important as well.) In fact, it looked so delicate and intricate I was sure it was going to fall apart right away. It. Did. Not. She originally put it up at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on that Thursday. It first made it through about an hour of taking dozens of pictures in the blazing heat. Next an hour long bus ride to the city. And next four hours at Prom spent dancing like crazy. I mean throwing my head around crazy. Then another three hours on a cruise on Lake Michigan sitting on the top deck, catching the cool wind. One more hour sleeping on the bus ride home and it still looked FANTASTIC. The entire night I did not lose a single bobby pin. I'm not saying she has magic, but I can't think of any other explanation. Overall, Broken Nail Boutique: 10/10 would recommend. read more

This place is a real gem! The nail techs are all very lovely. I like to say I have a favorite, but really they all do a remarkable job. They all follow the same protocol so you can always count on a consistently great job. I have only gone for pedicures. They do offer other services that I plan to check out in the future like facials and lashes. One of things that drew me to Broken Nail in the first place was that they offer impeccable cleaning and sanitation. They use products that are single use so NO contamination! Anything that can't be thown-out goes through a hospital grade sterlization process. So that is so very reassuring to know that I can relax and enjoy my services and not worry if things were cleaned properly. They also don't use whirlpool jets which is great because the jets are breeding ground for bacteria! The place itself if super cute too! It's on the second floor and it kind of feels like your up in the clouds in a very nice way. Everyone is super friendly and it seems like they have a team atmosphere. You can sometimes even get in on the same day for an appointment. So that's always helpful, but even when I can't get in same day I always wait! It's so worth it! The quality of the service is something you would expect from a high end spa~and the prices are great! Thank you Broken Nail girls for always making me feel special! read more

I am so glad my mom and I went here for our manicure and pedicures. Everyone there is so kind and bubbly. The owner only hires licensed nail technicians and waxing professionals. They clean every station after use. The boutique itself is adorable and trendy. They encouraged me to try VinyLux nail polish, becuase it lasts longer than normal nail polish, but not as long as no-chip. LOVED it! It lasted over a week on my nails, and multiple weeks on my toenails. I'm so glad they encouraged me to try this. Th pedicure and manicure are so relaxing. The scrubs they use are fantastic, and they sell them there in the boutique. I originally only went in to get a mani and pedi with my mom before Easter, but ended up getting an eye brow wax from Jessica as well. I had been apprehensive about eyebrow waxing for a while now, because the last 2 experiences I had somewhere else burned off the skin right below my brow, which had never happened to me before. Jessica made me feel at ease, asking if I'm on medication or have allergies that could have caused this, and told me that they probably had the wax too hot. Her expertise encouraged me to try, and I'm glad I did. No burns! Jessica makes you feel so at ease, and I will definitely be going back to try their other waxing services. read more

Found this Beautiful, Clean, Friendly Nail Boutique in downtown La Grange, IL. Had my first Acrylic nail fill today with Alex and I am very pleased with the results. She was very friendly, gentle and professional. Alex was kind enough to educate me on what products and techniques are good and bad for my nails, she is very knowledgeable about what she does. I also had a wonderful pedicure done a few weeks ago by Kennise. I have to say this is probably the best pedicure I have ever had. Kennise was also very professional, gentle and friendly. She pays special attention to detail and made sure I was comfortable and pleased with everything. I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem for my future manicures and pedicures! read more

I went here for a splurge- I don't often get my nails done. Place was very nice. People working there were very nice. Manicure & pedicure both were good. It just seemed to take a really long time to get both services done. I think I was there for over an hour an a half. Maybe close to 2 hours? I just remember by the end, I didn't want to sit and wait for my nails to dry because I already felt I had been there forever. Oh- and they didn't ask me to pay before I had my nails painted, which was weird. I had to try and dig in my wallet with wet nails to pay. read more
