I recently had my nails filled at this salon and couldn't be happier. They got me right in, we're fast with the service and did a great job.

I bought a Groupon for dip power nails, and when I went over there the guy told me is not for acrylic nails (I did dip power on acrylic before ) but he said no so he told me he is going to charge me $15 for filing and just do non chip, I wasn't happy but I thought the service will be good. He was I such a rush, I don't know why, because they have no clients, he filed my nails and didn't let me wash my hand he started painting, so obviously the nails had little sports with bubbles and particles, and also he got off the nails and painted my fingers a little bit but when he finished he told me "you all set " and when a told him if he can clean the fingers with paint he was really rude. I washed my hands paid and left. The nail polish wasn't non chip it was a regular nail polish with led light. So if you buy a Groupon be aware to paid more and not have a good job read more

If I could give no stars I would have. Currently, J Nail is running both Groupon and Living Social offers. I purchased a Groupon, made an appointment, and anticipated a relaxing mani/pedi. When I arrived at the appointment the entire place was in an upheaval as they were in the midst of a renovation. Therefore, no appointment. I asked the owner why the man who answered the phone took my appointment. She had no answer. So if you live in the LaGrange area, don't purchase a voucher for this place as it will not be honored. When we arrived it was just one women and her son who I guess were the owner's. Since we made appointment in advance I figured she would have enough staff to work with four customers. I've been going to J Nails for over nine years. And, I've never once had a bad experience. J Nails goes an extra step further, as not to spread germs and/or fungus. They use disposable bags in their pedicure bath's. Which I have never experienced, anywhere else. I've also gotten wax jobs there, with no problems. They kinda rushed. My nails don't look that great. I'm a little bit sad and disappointed. Like part of the polish is missing (picture included). It's not a chip, it was done like that. Some techs are better than others, it's kind of a 50 50 shot whether your nails will look good. The prices are expensive too especially considering the quality of the work. The only redeeming qualities are it is much better than if I did my nails at home and the boss seems very nice and sweet. read more

I have been coming here for a while now after a co-worker recommended the place to me. All of the nail ladies are great. I agree with Amanda that they do a great job on pedicures. They really take the time to make sure all the dead skin is scrubbed off, I'm sure they all have plenty of muscles from the hard work that they do. I've also noticed that over the years they've done a good job updating the place and now they have massage chairs as well, which ads a nice touch to the pedicure. Recently, I've also been getting no-chip manicures here. The massage that comes along with the manicures is also great. It really relaxes my hands. The manicures last about 3+ weeks which is a good deal. Plus they showed me how to remove them at home so if I couldn't come back to get my polish removed after it started chipping it was not a big deal. J nails can be pretty busy at times but they are well staffed and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes. I know people call in for appointments, but I never have done that. Also parking in the front can be crowded, so if you go around the back there is a ton of parking. read more

This family is generous, kind, and happy to offer professional suggestions to enhance your experience or provide additional comfort and pampering. The price of their services are affordable (certainly far more affordable than my NYC home lol) but the level of care and softness is something that can't be bought. I'm pretty sure this mother/son nail salon is in the process of going under. The last two times I was there, the male nail tech didn't even touch my cuticles...he said it wasn't necessary (isn't that part of what a MANICURE is???) and he is very standoffish and rude. Now they are not even accepting the groupons they signed up for -- the promotional value expires July 20 but they are no longer honoring their contract. There are many nicer, CLEANER places nearby. I have used them for some very important days in my life: My Wedding, My daughters first experience with beauty, preparation for vacation, and soon enough my daughters prom day. Therefore, I have tried other places, but always ended up coming back to them because they have always done an amazing job! To the point, where I do not go anywhere else. I could not give even 1 star. HORRIBLE. I wanted to buy a groupon but when I called them to see if they had available times they said NOT to buy a groupon and pay it at the salon. I got powder dip done. 3 days later almost all my nails were broken ( powder dip should last at least 2 weeks. It's not my first time getting this kind of manicure done.). So When I came back they put some powder on the top of my broken nails. 6 days later my all nails were broken again. So now I am came back third time to fix my nails . I asked to either to redone it or return my money. Anna said asked for my receipt which she never gave me because I paid cash. She called police saying that I am harassing her. They are currently under new management. I had a great experience with Danny. No chip manicure is super reasonable here at $30. Super clean. They offer you a beverage upon entering. Location didn't have electricity when I arrived so lady (mom) made appt for next day even though I talked to son to make an appt a few days earlier. He never advised her. I came next day. She looked at me like I was crazy when I said I was there for my appt . She was finishing a pedicure. I told her she rescheduled me from the day before. Not sure what services were a $60 value. I was told no chip manicure would be an additional $20 because I had a Groupon. Sign in store said they started at $15. I had clear polish on natural nails. Not sure why charging more. Another person came in for appt. they had no record. Again girl said she talked to son. She also had a Groupon. Lady said she had to come back or reschedule. Someone else came in so lady called son and had me wait while she took other girl. Son finally arrived. Seemed upset because I wanted manicure first since it wasn't no chip. He rushed through. I never washed my hands before polish. Mom had her client do it. She only had manicure too. He also never put cuticle remover on hands. Only my feet. Never had salt scrub on legs or hand massage. Every other place I've been has. Son left after my service even though someone was waiting for service. Heard mom tell her client he was in a rush to get back home. Their regular mani pedi is the price I paid for the Groupon. Definitely not a $60 value. No wonder they didn't really have any customers. read more

I have gotten my nails done here a few times. They are a great service and I'm always happy with the results.

My family and I used to go to J Nails all the time and we really enjoyed it and built up a good relationship with the ladies there, however now all of that has changed. We were loyal and regular customers for several years and as the ladies we knew started leaving and being replaced with people who we not as friendly or skilled. Then we found a new place. On Wednesday, March 11th our new place was booked so we thought we would give J Nails another go. I will NEVER EVER EVER go back there again, EVER! My lady was nice, very slow, but nice and did a mostly decent job. However my poor mother had a TERRIBLE experience. She had already had a no chip manicure on so the guy in there (I believe he is the manager) brings over a dremmel tool and begins to try and sand off the no chip. We told him we had never seen our other salon do that but he proceeded to tell us it's faster and better, so my mom let him continue. Then he put the acetone and foil on while we were getting pedicures. After that he told my mom to go sit at his station where he pulled out the dremmel and told her that he had to get it all off. He started until he made a part of my mom's nails very thin and she could feel it. She kept telling him ouch and to stop and he said this is how they remove it. (Sidenote: My mother is the sweetest lady and barely speaks up about anything) Anyways, my mom had these beautiful long and strong nails and he basically filed them down so thin and then cut them unevenly and it was just terrible. He destroyed her nails and then blamed our other salon for making her nails. This man does not know how to do nails, which should have been apparent when he was INSISTING she not get a french manicure and get color. She kept asking for french and he did color on her nails anyways among everything else. It wasn't until the car ride home when she was visibly upset and told me what happened (I was on the other side of the shop while all of this happened and the TV was very loud in there) Needless to say we will not be going back there. I advise against this place. They are cheap but here you honestly get what you pay for. Rubbish. read more

I love this place! I always have a good experience with them- I always feel pampered when I'm here. My manicures have never failed me, my only interjection is my pedi. I had one here, and I wouldn't have another. I work at a 5 star spa, so I know what a really good pedi consists of. That being said, I don't expect such high end service but my pedicure was literally 20 minutes including the polish. My heels were calloused, but not filed. They felt just as rough when I left as they did before getting it. However, my manicures have always been amazing. Pedis not worth $25 but manicures are worth it. read more

I used to go to this place all the time, and they were great. Then they changed management, remodeled, and it's terrible now. I went in recently for my usual no-chip manicure, and the woman took a little over two hours to finish my nails. It took so long I had to leave without getting the hand massage part because I had plans later that evening. They need to hire better nail techs who can do a prompt, quality job. This place used to be filled with customers and lots of nail techs to support the business, now there's always the same 1-2 people there who do a terrible job. The only positive is the price as they are cheaper than most nail salons, that is if you have hours on end to lose. Oh, and don't take too long choosing a color or someone will hover over you while you browse. Makes it a really uncomfortable experience when you are going there to relax. read more

Sorry I can't leave one star for this place! But it wouldnt post my review without selecting a star. I went there and the guy did my nails. I should have turned away when I only seen one!!! Customer on a Fri evening. I got a gel fill in picked out a design, showed him and he put the design "HE WANTED TO PUT ON" I TOLD HIM THAT'S NOT WHA T I ASKED FOR! BUT having to be at work in 40 min I kept the design that I never asked for. So 3days later my nail cracked from one side to the next. It was noticeably really thin. So I went back and asked him to fix my nail. Oan: there was still no other customers. He charged me 8$ to repair one nail. Which it should have been free!!! Seeing he drilled it down thin. So I tell him I have no cash only a debit card. He then proceeds to tell me "OH with a debit card the minimum is $10 bucks. Smfh I was clearly upset. So!!! I ended up having to pay $8 for the nail repair and $6 for a color change. Just so he'll take my card because he would not just charge me $8. Such an a##hole. So after 3days I ended up paying the original price of $30for a gel fill in plus a extra $14 dollars. And the lady worker kept clearing her throat really loud and spitting every 5min. It was sooooo disgusting "NEVER AGAIN DONT EVER GO HERE YOU'LL REGRET IT. Now I found a new shop i go to T nails on Joliet road. This place iis amazing. read more

J Nails is my back-up for when my regular spot has a wait. Good, consistent work, and they seem always ready to take walk-ins (I once came in without an appointment with my mom and aunt, and they got us all into chairs in under 20 minutes - ON A SATURDAY!). The polish doesn't seem to last that long (do NOT spring for a gel here; their gel chips very quickly!), but if you bring your own as I do sometimes you get better results. And the no-wait thing is a big bonus if you're like me and like to get your nails done on a moment's notice! read more

The group that is there now are rude (Wont hold a conversation), bad at nails- I got a simple mani pedi and she over charged me! Daisy did a great job on my nails. My regular manicure and pedicure were reasonably priced and the manicure has lasted over a week. I do a lot of manual labor, so the fact that it lasted impressed me. I made an appt and they took me right away with out waiting. I will definitely be going back. read more
