I've been going to Magic Nails in Countryside since I moved to the south side, and at this point I'm not going anywhere. Especially now that I found my favorite nail tech, Aries. Her nail designs are perfection and she just gets it every time. They've also updated the place recently, and it's so aesthetically pleasing. Clean, bright, and well-kept. Definitely a spot to get away from life for a few hours and just get pampered. And the new massage chairs? Amazing. The entire staff is always kind and welcoming, and they always offer you a drink which makes you feel taken care of the moment you walk in. Undoubtedly the worst nail experience I've ever had. I was cut four times during the service and burned with the electric file. The acrylic was placed over my cuticles and the nails came off nine days later. I had a manicure and a pedicure, which ran me $177. The tips of my nails were not properly glued down to the tip for the acrylic, so there is debris wedged between my actual nail and the acrylic, which is quite painful, filthy, and trapping moisture. Stay away from here at all cost. They are not clean and they are not certified. How do you cut somebody four times in one service and burn them too?! If you choose to go here, remember that my skin and blood may be on the same file that cuts you. read more

I was having a good time at first. They were very gentle with my nails. They are severely lacking in customer service. For some reason, my card wouldn't go through and that's not on them. Once I had the money transferred to another card, it did go through. The nail tech was trying to tell me that the payment didn't go through. Even after I showed the nail tech that I did pay and it is on my account, she FOLLOWED ME outside, telling me to come back inside to pay. I will never go back! read more

Not a fan I've tried this place several time because everyone else seems to like it. However, I've never been very impressed. My sister and I went to get our nails done for her wedding. My sister is not a girly girl, and has only had her nails done professionally a few times. She wanted plain white nail polish. Different, I know. Lots of the staff seemed to really push her away from what she wanted saying she should get something different. This was off putting. My manicure had seemed a little rushed with some white spots. This was a little disappointing considering the time and money I was spending. And the nail technician nicked my skin. It bled quite a bit and hurt a bit. During my pedicure, I guess my nail tech saw I had a broken/chipped toe nail. I didn't know and would have loved to have it fixed for the wedding since I was wearing open toed shoes. But instead I was left with an oddly shaped bright blue middle toe. In the end, I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Even without tip, was expensive! Magic Nails is an ok nail salon, in my opinion. I've been there several times. I think I'll try a new salon next time. read more

Although I have been going to Magic Nails for years, I do want you to be aware of a horrible infection I received from there on March 10th. As I was getting a dip manicure the woman cut my cuticle with her machine. It was not severe - really not bleeding just hurt. She continued to dip my fingers which now I have learned they should NOT be dipping everyone's fingers in the same powder, the should put in a separate container for each costumer. I am now on week 3 of a horrible infection and have been put on oral and cream antibiotics. I never realized how important sanitation was until now and how painful something like this can be. I truly hope Magic Nails will do something about their cleanliness and sterilization going forward. read more

I have been to this location before back when I was living in the area, and was happy, but now I moved back home and got my nails done here and I'm very displeased. Upon coming in I didn't see any menus for their service.... so when I got called in to do my pedicure I didn't know the cost information until I sat down. I asked if they do SNS nails which is also called nail dipping. The lady next to said they did..... I'm like well that's good. I ruined my toe nails as I was walking to the manicure station because no one pulled the seat out for me and I accidentally kicked the table, literally jamming my toes. Ouch. When they fixed it, they didn't double coat it, so 3 nails were lighter than the other toes. Anyways- back to the nails, the nail tech was going so fast I thought she was going to hurt me. She was filing soooo fast I could feel the heat off of the nail filler. She told me that they pride themselves in serving a higher client and that's why they charge so much..... uhhhh well fine but where the quality of work if you're going to be serving a higher client. I've been going to this salon every month for a few years and it's always been great. However for the last few months I've seen the customer service decline a lot. Ive gotten the exact same set in a different color and not matte. It was $80 last time and this time it was $95 for a full set with a simple design. I asked him why it was that much and showed him the picture I took from the other previous set and he said that every person charges different and that he wasn't going to change his price so if I wasn't going to pay the $95 he was not going to be doing the design. He was very rude and I do not understand how he can overcharge me by $15 just because he is a different person. Although the nails always look amazing I did not appreciate how I was treated and over charged. I will not be going back to this magic nails any time soon. read more

The place looks very warm and welcoming. The girl that did my pedicure was very nice but the girl that did my nails wasn't very pleasant. I had asked her for some samples of the chromes they had available and without even trying to look she just said "we don't have any" my sister then asked around and after doing a little looking she found the samples. They have an amazing selections of colors but my nail broke 2 days after getting them done. They happily fixed the nail with proof of receipt. About 2 days after another nail broke. My nails were done last Friday (March 22), a little over a week and 2 nails broke, my no chip is visibly chipping, and my mom got a dip done and her nails also chipped. Nice spot but for $65 and $45 my nails should not be breaking or chipping so soon. Update: another nail broke while I was taking my clothes out the laundry. I'd give 0 stars if I could. read more

I really do love this place. It's been a while since I have had my nails done (here, or anywhere), but since my last visit, they have installed new pedicure chairs, and they are wonderful. They old ones were nice, but some of the settings felt like they were pounding your back with too much force. The new chairs are divine! Also, they now line the pedicure bowls freshly with each client, and that is nice. The decor has been updated, as well. As always, the place is spotlessly clean. I failed to get the name of the young man who did my pedicure and manicure, but he gave me one of the best pedicures of my life! He really took his time and paid great attention to detail. When Monica does my nails, there's no lifting, no breaking and I constantly get compliments on my nails. I feel bad even leaving this review but- oh well. I've been living in LaGrange for 3 years and finally decided to try a salon out here instead of the city. I paid $106 for a no chip pedicure and an acrylic overlay on my natural nails with a French manicure. This man gave me 90% of my nail service as he sat next to me while I was getting a pedicure. I'm not used to that. He was rushing and was rough with my hands. His acrylic application sucked and even after drilling and filing my nails are bumpy and lumpy. I needed a nail applied to one of my fingers and it's crooked LOL Moving on to my French manicure he did it by hand and only did one application of white. Every salon I've went to does 2. I was tired and why do I need to tell someone how to do their job? The French manicure is uneven. Now I'm back within 5 days of my services because my white toe polish was black and stained. My nail was lifting and my polish was already chipping. Even the repair of my nail is sub par. read more

This place is the spot to be! It's much bigger than I expected it to be, with about a dozen pedicure chairs and maybe even more manicure stations. We went on a Wednesday without an appointment and even then we had a 10 minute wait. To say that this place is popular is an understatement. They certainly seem to know their regulars too. It was nice to see! We got a basic pedi which is $33. Price is a little more than I'm used to paying, but the place is sooooo hygienic- liners on the pedi tubs and individually wrapped packs of tools for each customer- that I can understand the price. They did a nice job- got my feet scrubbed, nails lightly filed, lotion leg massage and a hot towel wrapped on my legs before the nails got painted. They spent about 45 minutes with me in total. I had an appointment for dipped nails at 2pm with MARVIN, 2:10 comes still waiting to be seated. I asked the front desk how much longer and they didn't know. I told them if I could run across the street because I needed to pick up an order from jewel and that I can come back in 15 min, they said okay. I come back and the manager tells me he refuses to do my nails because he was waiting, I chuckle because I thought she was kidding and told her I was the one who was like waiting for him, but she just shrugged he shoulders and said she'd find someone else. As I look around, he's doing someone else's nails. This was not the first bad encounter I had with him. The mgr is fully aware of his issues, but he continues to hold a job there. I gave him another chance because everyone deserves a second chance and he might of been having a bad day, but today, this reassured me he is 100% an a-hole (MARVIN) and this business allows it. read more

I was a little worried when I walked in because the place looked packed but then I realized they have about 10-12 pedicure stations! They took me right away on a Saturday afternoon! Great! One turn off was the chemical smell upon walking in. I am pregnant so it was really overwhelming for me. I know it really can't be helped but it was super strong! $30 for a spa pedicure - they have upgrades you can add but I think the regular spa pedicure does the trick. Their chairs are really comfortable and even recline! The guy who did my pedicure was through yet fast! They also give long massages! Everything was sterile. I'll definitely be back! This is by far the best nail salon in the area. Me and my wife, our parents have always been coming here. The place is bigger than it looks from outside. It's really nice and super clean inside (I have never been to any salon as clean as this). Staff are so welcoming and extremely friendly. They greet you with a high manner and in a professional way. They offer you drink (bottle water, hot tea.. ) We always felt so relax and enjoy even when we came in a rush hour. My wife and her mom are very particular with their nails but they are always happy and satisfy with the service and techniques. Let me start by saying that this is a review for the specific person who did my pedicure. Overall, I think this nail salon is pretty decent but this past Friday, the girl who did my pedicure started out, looking fairly angry that she had to do my pedicure. She never introduced herself never said hello just started in. I did upgrade to a deluxe pedicure or whatever they call it there. She never offered me the menu to see what I might want. She was very upset about having to rub my legs and when she did, it was probably the worst calf, shin and foot massage I've ever had. Then, to add insult to injury, while I was speaking to a friend that I ran into there while getting my pedicure, the pedicurist only did one coat of color, hoping that I wouldn't notice. Well, I didn't notice until I got home. Sure, that could be on me, but any professional Pedicurist would do right by their client. I was so tired at the end of my week, I didn't bother to say anything. Had I been energetic, I would've stopped in the middle of the service and asked if she was having a bad day. I don't know this person personally, this is the first time I've ever been to that salon, but I will make sure I don't go back to that poor little sullen girl. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. My first time here was maybe 10 years ago and I liked it a LOT (at first). It was so shiny and happy and pretty inside. Then it started to get more popular/busy and somewhere along the way took a very sharp turn south. GiGi is my fav nail tech - she's THE absolute sweetest and you can tell she cares about what she's doing and is genuine and professional. She's not a gossipy jerk (and there are a lot of them here...sorry but true) and talks to her clients mostly the entire time instead of her coworkers in a foreign language. She's not always available tho, and I've had to just go along w someone else. The times when I didn't make an appt and had other techs work on my nails, I've had varying degrees of success. I once had acrylics lift off less than a week after application (I don't know which tech it was) and when I went back, the woman who manages the front desk sat me down to fix them (after going back through the sign-in sheet with my receipt to make sure I wasn't pulling a fast one). She was SO rough and filed my cuticles down WAY too far to the point where it felt hot on my nailbed and I had some cuts too. She was clearly not happy with the whole situation and I felt took it out on ME for their employee's mistakes that caused the acrylic to lift off. I'm NOT a "complainer" and usually just go with the flow but when I paid $50+ for a full set w no chip and 4 or 5 nails start coming off I'm sorry but everyone has a limit. I left with my nails hurting for days. That was the last time I went as a walk-in, taking my chances with some rando.... Pedicures have been inconsistent. Some techs are good and take their time and do a good job...other times I was directed to a chair to get started and then left sitting with my feet in the water so long it went cold by the time someone got to me (and then they're rushing). Or I make an appt for myself and a friend(s) and we're all sitting on separate sides of the room. There are other salons that are the same cost (or less even) and better customer service. I just can't suggest this location when it's a grab bag each time I walk in, never knowing if I'm going to leave happy or po'ed. read more

Went there for the 1st time a few weeks ago on a Sunday. Lucky I was one 1st 3 people to arrive and was given a spa pedicure seat right away. Place got full within 20mins of me arriving. The 2 girls who worked on my no-chip manicure & pedicure did an excellent job!!! Only downside is that there prices are a bit high but I will definitely be back for my fill ins.
