Best crabcake in the world!
Laura K.

My mom and I went here for lunch and we sat in a booth in the bar area. It's so nice and cozy up there with the big beautiful TVs and a bar that is a piece of art on its own. Our server was Vinny and he was a delight! Very friendly and professional and honest about what to order. I've had lump crabcakes many times before, and they all seem to be the same, full of breading. He assured Me that the Lump meat crabcake at J Marks is superb. Well, he was right! It was the best crabcake I've ever had in my life and I am 67 years old. I have also been to Maryland many times. I will always order this every time I go from now on. My mom and I enjoyed some specialty martinis and ended our lunch with an espresso martini. Danny, the manager is always so lovely and friendly. Our waiter VINNY was right there when we needed him every time. Excellent experience! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Ambiance: 5/5

Bam Bam Shrimp

Really was torn between 3 * or 4*, but I will give them the 4. I feel like this steakhouse was going for more upscale and it did have that vibe. The food was good but not amazing and the drink options were okay. I think what made me go 4 was because they were not busy and the wait staff, she really tried to make it great (the best) and they had small July 4th specials like a free Bam Bam shrimp with 2 drinks and steaks had 1 free topping, which she got mushrooms and I got onions. So I will say it was a good experience, not average. The mojitos were tasty and well done. They had bread that was okay, but not great, just kind of a soft wheat roll with butter. The Bam Bam was great and tasted amazing. The steaks, we had the 10 oz Sirloins and they presented well and were cooked correctly and still hot. came with two onion rings and one side. I had Garlic Mashed Potatoes and my wife had the Plantains. No issues and everything was good. The mushrooms for the steak are a mixture, so may not appeal to those who are partial to one type. Overall an decent experience. but a little more expensive than I would have liked if it had not been for the specials. Might need to try again, but I would try others in the area first.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is delicious. We went here again the other night and brought others. Everyone agreed, it's yummy. The service is great and the manager Danny is amazing. The place is always clean. Oh and if you don't eat pasta they have zoodles. I get them all the time

We came here to celebrate NYE with our friends/neighbors in DBI (Deerfield Beach Island). Our group of 8 enjoyed our individual entrees, the cocktails and the Bam Bam Shrimp appetizer (reminds me of Kung Pao Shrimp). My hubs and I had our own version of Surf & Turf by splitting the Hawaiian Ribeye and Chilean Seabass. Both were outstanding. Thanks Kathy for the excellent service!

Blackened Chicken Pasta

I ordered a chopped salad, calamari, and blackened chicken pasta for two other co-workers and me. My salad had the wrong dressing; the avocado was a little brown. The calamari was somewhat okay, and the blackened chicken pasta was a real disappointment. The amount of grease on the to-go container was too much. My coworker stopped eating it because the pasta was drenched in oil. I always recommend this restaurant, but since the quality of the food is going down, this is it for me.

Excellent service from the manager Lindsay, to our server Ricardo Came for Christmas Eve dinner and Loretta was our server...she was a ray of sunshine. The food was soooo good and the Christmas decorations were great. We started with a spinach artichoke dip which we gobbled up. I had chicken parm with angel hair in Alfredo sauce. Not something I normally would order in a non italian restaurant but boy was it delicious. My sister had 5 cheese pasta which she loved. We had leftovers for another 2 meals. Such a great experience

Cheers to the beginning of our vacation in Pompano Beach

Our first time in Pompano Beach and we just stumbled across this restaurant. First look you would think it is a chain BUT it is NOT. It is a family owned establishment and one you should definitely try. The interior decor and ambiance bring you in and right from the start you get a good feeling it's going to be good. We went on a Monday night. Party of 2. No reservation. Hostess was pleasant told us it would be 10-15 minute wait. It was just under 10. We got a nice booth in the bar area. Our server was Connor. He came up to our table promptly Started with a glass of wine each which came quickly. We shared the soup (Tomato Basil) and salad (house) appetizer. I've found when it's shown as a combo the portions are smaller, but not in this case. It was a full bowl of delicious soup and the house salad was just as large and fresh and delicious. My husband opted for the Mahi Mahi with green beans and I had the Chicken Fierro. Both were delicious. Very nice size portions Mine came with two nice sized pieces of chicken; which resulted in being boxed up to have for lunch another day. We didn't have room for dessert but the choices sounded delicious (7 layer carrot cake, chocolate cake, or apple pie with ice cream) Connor was super attentive and gracious when we asked him for entertainment recommendations in the area. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and would definitely recommend

Chicken Fierro
Doug R.

Solo dinner on Monday 12/2/24. Arrived late without a lot of research or recommendations but the hotel manager suggested J Mark's. Atmosphere, dinner and service were all really good. Based on the bartenders recommendation I went with Fierro Chicken entree. Absolutely full of flavor, super rich and delicious. Chicken was really moist, adding the prosciutto and smoked mozzarella cheese, topped with Dijon white wine cream sauce puts this dish over the top! Amazingly delicious!

When getting a smash burger you have to get a double too! Now the one disappointing aspect was I ordered the fries and they definitely left a little to be desired as I wish you got some more with an order. Typically you can share a fry but this one was a little too small to share. I definitely will be back again soon as I want to try to the spicy smash burger and I hope it delivers as well as the bmc smash burger did! Look at the pics. Horrible. It was thrown on a plate. One of the meats was so funky. I order charcuterie everywhere, even Publix. This was insulting to me and my wallet. Well, mix that with a medoicre rock band and I was ready to go. It seems like the quality sipped. I even purchased 2 cocktails. I guess they are saving money by putting in very little liquor. So...what waa a typical 3 to 4 star night, was a 2. I guess if yiu have 4 or 5 bad drinks yiu can skip past it all. But I stopped at work. I wasnt drunk enough to ignore the overall mediocrity. Towards the end..the band Retro Active, old rock, got better they had a rough start then got better by 1.5 hrs in. I just need to lower my expectations in rough times or head to the casino I guess. I love supporting local business, but a $30 waste of my time. Its not the money, it's the sloo, lack of effort on the plate. We had abour 8 meat slices, a few walnuts:n cranberries. Bye Felicia! Im home now...I left at intermission. I guess Im angry because they failed on the basics. I get that businesses are suffering due to their poor voting choices, war, gas, economy. But...I guess Im angry about the basics. Its easy to take lunch meat and cheese. We make it at home! So Im pissed that you would mash up bread on a grill, throw on some funky meat, and toss 3 cups on a plate: honey, some weird sauce and something elsem. Darn right Im mad. The owners or whoever is fronting this should go back to basics. Here is my next play..eat before I go. Buy one drink then bring my own drink in my purse, fill my cup with basic rum and coke lol. My partner was smart: buy a beer. Something they can't mess up. I even saw folks with cans of miller lol. Im over this dive. I guess everything changes and some places have no capacity to last and age well. I even didn't like their bingo. Overalll, go if you know the band. Get tipsy before you go! Just not worth more than $20 stay really. I use to love it a few years back. Even the burlesque was tired. My kid said. Some people cant hang it up. I guess this is one! For great drinks, go to Bar Betty, upstairs in Sunness. Go hit Chainbridge...best old fashioned, near Moon Pizza. Best pizza at moom with pinball attached. Amazing cocktails, same price! There are several places doing it right!

There's 2 locations: this one and another in Fort Lauderdale. Word is the FTL has a full bar and just one sandwich that this location doesn't. But this location has been here for about 11 years now. And apparently they've expanded and it's bigger than what it was. And it also has covered outdoor seating for when the weather drops. Graffiti and cool artwork is everywhere despite the plain outdoor look. It's pretty cool decor and vibe inside. Calling to order they now require payment over the phone for orders over $50. But they're available on Doordash. Dine in might be a better choice for freshness bc the burgers are huge! Service was swift and efficient. Very accommodating. The guy who rang up my order was kind in answering my questions about the restaurant and my requests. We ordered a milkshake on DoorDash, but when I arrived they made the shake fresh to order. Loved that. Got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake. So creamy, made perfectly; not too thick and topped with whipped cream and cereal bits. We got the Which Came First the Chicken or the Egg sandwich which is obvious a chicken sandwich with a fried egg. So yummy. Then the Big Sexy which is a double pattie burger with bacon, a fried egg, and white cheddar. Very saucy. Again, huge! I got a side of Sweet Fries which are their sweet potato fries. Definitely will come back to try a single pattie burger and another milkshake!

I've been coming to this establishment for quite some time, and it has always been my go-to place for burgers. Unfortunately, today's dining experience will be my last. We arrived shortly after 5 p.m. and the restaurant was nearly empty, with only one occupied table inside and one outside. We sat at a four-top because my elderly mother was with us. Almost immediately, we noticed that the music was so loud we could barely hear the person sitting next to us. When the waitress came to take our drink order, we politely asked if the music could be lowered--not turned off, just lowered enough so we could have a conversation. She looked at us somewhat strangely, said okay, and walked away. When she returned with our drinks, we asked again about the music. Her response was, "I thought they did." We decided to stay, order our food, and try to enjoy our meal. When our appetizer, the onion ring tower, arrived, the music was still blaring. We asked once again if it could be turned down just a little. This time we were told that the manager had texted the owner, and the owner said the music needed to remain at that level. At that point, the server did offer to move us to another area of the restaurant, which we appreciated. The music was somewhat better there, so we stayed. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing. The burgers arrived cold, and the bacon tasted as though it had come straight from the refrigerator. The cheesesteak bun was burnt, and the meat filling was lacking. This was nothing like the food we had enjoyed here in the past. It's disappointing to leave a restaurant I've supported for years feeling that loud music was considered more important than the comfort of its customers. When a customer politely asks for the music to be lowered so they can have a conversation--especially when the restaurant is nearly empty--it seems like a reasonable request. Sadly, between the refusal to lower the music and the decline in food quality, we will not be returning. It's a shame, because this used to be one of my favorite places for a burger. When a restaurant is nearly empty shortly after 5 p.m., perhaps it's worth listening to what customers are telling you.
