Back again to one of our favorite restaurants. My husband had the Shrimp Tacos which were on special this night, I had delicious clam chowder. I also had a clam strip basket which was very disappointing. The clams were dry and way overcooked. I do not recommend them. Usually the food is outstanding.

The Fish Joint in Coral Springs is basically where you go when you want to eat fish and be happy about it. My Mahi-Mahi Monday special sandwich was absolutely loaded with blackened flavor--fish cooked tender and juicy, sauce so good I briefly considered asking if they bottle it, and coleslaw that deserves its own standing ovation. Really, the food's on point. Here's the catch (pun intended): I originally wanted the Mahi Big Boy Po'boy. But I didn't want it fried, I wanted it blackened. When I asked at the counter, the guy looked at me like I had just asked him to split the atom. He shook his head and said, "It only comes fried." That was it. No negotiation. No "let me check." Just a culinary dead end. Just NO. So I pivoted to the Monday special, which--don't get me wrong--was fantastic and even saved me seven bucks. But it wasn't the sandwich I walked in craving. And now I'm stuck with this unscratchable itch for a blackened Po'boy that I may never get. So yeah, four stars: amazing food, fast service, but a little too "my way or the highway" on the menu rules. Fish Joint, I love you, but c'mon--set the fish free.

Went here on Good Friday to pick up some fish & chips. Was running close to closing, so I decided to call ahead and order. Kayla was able to explain everything to me, she's the BEST. The ambiance for me hit clean, modern, casual seafood restaurant. Especially with the surfboard on the wall. The staff is friendly and smiling. Even though I just went in to pick up. I got a great vibe from the place. The food was delicious, the tartar sauce and coleslaw, exceptional. I shall return.

Did not know what to expect when my wife told me to meet her here. Abd honestly was one of, if not the best fish meals we've had in south fl. We had fish tacos, the surf n turf po boy, and the grilled fish tacos. Will definitely be back soon

The flavor was there, but the execution wasn't looks like the sauce was just dumbed on top

Need to work on the jerk part of the entrees ,especially the prices we are paying for the seafood ,the Mahi was point on seasoned and cooked perfectly

Always spot on! Food is hot, fresh, fast, and reasonably priced. Get it for takeaway almost weekly.

The prices initially caught my attention -- many of the sandwiches run around $20+ -- but the portions and quality start to make sense once you see what comes out of the kitchen. The owner, who hails from Brooklyn, noticed my order and told me I should try something different. He ended up making me an off-menu sandwich called the "Dapper Don." It starts with a toasted baguette brushed with garlic oil, then piled high with house-roasted beef, arugula, caramelized onions, crispy fried onions, herb aioli, and a generous amount of shaved Parmigiano. The flavors are big and well balanced -- peppery greens, rich aioli, sweet onions, and salty cheese tying everything together. The sandwich itself is massive. Easily large enough to split between two people. The shop is bright and modern and feels closer to an Italian paninoteca with Brooklyn-sized portions than a typical South Florida deli. One thing to note: this plaza has historically been a tough location for restaurants due to high rents. But if Generoso can build a loyal following around sandwiches like this, it definitely has a chance.

As they say, experience is the best example. My opinion, is at this store will not last once people realize they are being overcharged. This will be my last time in this family owned Italian sandwich shop that charges for every little thing.

If sandwiches had a Hall of Fame, this place would have a first-ballot plaque and its own highlight…read morereel. Walking into LaSpada's Original Hoagies isn't just ordering lunch, it's stepping into a deli version of a live sporting event. There's energy, there's precision, and yes, there's the legendary "airmail" toss of freshly sliced meat flying down the line like it's got somewhere important to be. Blink and you miss it. Smile and you're part of it. I went with my go-to: the Italian. And not just any Italian... this thing shows up dressed to impress. We're talking Boar's Head ham, cappy, pastrami, and provolone, sliced fresh right in front of you, then launched with deli theatrics onto perfectly waiting Italian bread. From there, it gets piled high with crisp veggies and those Italian peppers that quietly steal the show. Every bite hits like it's been rehearsing for years. Somewhere around bite three, I had a moment of clarity: "This isn't a sandwich... it's a commitment." Plot twist... you think you're just grabbing lunch. You're not. You're entering into a multi-meal agreement. A large sub here doesn't just feed you, it sticks with you. Lunch today, lunch tomorrow, maybe a late-night "just one more bite" situation. It's generous in a way that feels personal. My wife ordered the roast beef, and wow. Perfectly rare, ridiculously tender, sliced fresh and yes, sent flying down the line like it had a boarding pass. It was the kind of sandwich that makes you reconsider your own order mid-bite. Quick detour, because it deserves it... the homemade macaroni salad. I don't throw this around lightly, but I'd put it up against anyone's for best in class. Creamy, balanced, and somehow disappears faster than you expect. That's not an accident. And then you remember... this place took home "Best Sub in South Florida" from the Sun-Sentinel in 2025. Not surprising. Honestly, it feels overdue. Micro twist: you walk in thinking you'll try something new next time. You won't. You'll be back for the same order, and you'll be happy about it. After 25+ years in Coral Springs, they're not just consistent, they're automatic. The kind of place where you don't wonder if it'll be good... you just decide how hungry you are. Highest recommendation. Five stars, no hesitation. Final thought: Some places make sandwiches. LaSpada's Original Hoagies makes believers.

The first location was at Lauderdale By The Sea in Ft Lauderdale that I went to when I was younger. The Coral Springs location is close to me so I usually visit that one. It never disappoints because the hoagies are made to order with many toppings to choose from. The hoagies are piled high and come in 2 sizes. The sweet peppers are the best and are brought in from Chester, PA. The options of breads are wheat or white and always are soft and flavorful. My go to hoagie is the Turkey on wheat. The meats are sliced fresh to order right in front behind the topping station. The service is quick in making the sandwiches. You can also order over the phone or online for pickup. I always feel welcome. There is a small amount of seating. It's mostly a quick to go shop. Definitely will be back!

FIVE STARS. GAS STATION? YES. GAS STATION? ALSO YES…read more Let's get something straight. Some of the best food on earth comes from places that look like you shouldn't trust them. Gas stations. Side streets. Tiny counters with three tables and a refrigerator humming in the corner. I saw WhatSub on Yelp and thought, "Alright. Let's see if the hype survives State Road 7." It didn't just survive. It flexed. I am fully on board with five-star gas station cuisine. In fact, I seek it out. And WhatSub doesn't just play the game -- it competes internationally. This place comes dangerously close to Sandwich Master in Turin, Italy. I'm not exaggerating. And it narrowly beats out Generoso's in Coral Springs, which is not an easy feat. The bread? Legit. The meats? Layered like someone actually respects the architecture of a sandwich. The balance? No soggy mess. No overkill. No amateur hour. And then the cannoli. Freshly piped. Not pre-filled. Not sitting there getting sad and humid. Fresh. Filled to order. Shell still crisp. Ricotta smooth and balanced -- not overly sweet, not grainy, not lazy. Best cannoli I've had in South Florida since Lorenzo's in North Miami Beach. That's not a casual comparison. That's a statement. Now let's talk atmosphere. It's technically in a gas station plaza -- and yet the owners and staff are actually speaking Italian behind the counter. Not performative. Not touristy. Just normal conversation like you accidentally stepped into a deli in Torino. It feels real. So real that I went back the next day. And then again. I am not joking. When I ask myself, "What was my favorite thing?" the answer is dangerous: Everything I ordered. Cold subs. Hot subs. Cannoli. Repeat. This is the kind of place you almost don't want to write about because once the word spreads, lines get longer and secrets disappear. But credit where credit is due. WhatSub is proof that greatness doesn't need chandeliers. Sometimes it just needs good bread, proper technique, and someone who actually cares.

Came here because I saw it was a new Italian sub shop near my area. Saw good reviews and wanted to…read moretry it myself. Behind the counter was a husband/wife duo who were the business owners (didn't get their names) who stated they were from Sicily. After much deliberation, I decided to order the Arthur Ave and the Milano. The Arthur Ave is a cold sandwich that had prosciutto, arugula, stracciatella, sun dried tomato. You have a choice of bread from white, wheat rolls, and focaccia. I was informed by the husband the focaccia is made fresh daily by his wife so of course I had to try that. The wife was nice enough to let me try a sample of the prosciutto and I have to say -- it was delicious, so getting it on a sandwich was going to be a no-brainer. The Milano was for my father. Watching them make the sandwich, they put two huge pieces of chicken cutlet, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and freshly sliced mozzarella. Again, I got the focaccia bread. Both sandwich's were drizzled on the top of the focaccia bread with fresh Italian olive oil which was just the cherry on top. I had told the owners it was my first time and we had a great conversation, that they were nice enough to give me and my parents 3 free mini cannolis -- which was completely unexpected and highly appreciated! As far as the food goes, I don't have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how delicious this sandwich was. From the delicious meats, the fresh veggies, and my personal favorite part -- that focaccia bread. I would buy that alone. They had specials on their menu the day I went that was a not on their menu -- a meatball sub and arancini balls. Also, keep in mind, that this shop is inside the Mobil gas station on 441 and SW 18th. There is a sign on the outside of the gas station, but if you're driving by and unsure of the location, I can confirm it is inside the Mobil. Overall, a great experience; delicious food, great people behind the counter. Only caveat I would say is it is a little bit higher price for a sandwich, but with the current economy where a McDonalds burger is over 10 bucks, you truly get what you pay for and that is top quality, fresh and delicious food. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

I've driven past it thousands of times on Wiles Road without noticing it sitting there quietly between auto repair shops across from Costco like some kind of breakfast speakeasy. Meanwhile, these people have apparently been serving legit breakfast this entire time. The second we walked in, we got greeted like cousins who finally came home from war. Friendly, warm, joking around, genuinely happy we were there. You know how some breakfast spots make you feel like you personally ruined their morning by ordering eggs? Not here. My wife ordered the veggie omelette with home fries and a toasted bagel. Everything tasted fresh. Actual fresh vegetables. Not the sad, wet diner veggies that look emotionally exhausted before they hit the grill. I went with scrambled eggs, french fries, and a bagel because apparently my inner 8-year-old was making decisions today. Then came "the sauce." Sweet mercy. They recommended their secret sauce and suddenly breakfast turned into an event. The spicy version isn't really spicy unless ranch dressing intimidates you, but it has this smoky pepper flavor that somehow made EVERYTHING better. Eggs? Fantastic. Fries? Unreal. I would've dipped my car keys in it if nobody was watching. At one point my wife, who normally avoids spicy food like it owes her money, kept stealing fries off my plate just to use my sauce before finally admitting she needed her own serving. That sauce could solve arguments. Now for the only small hiccup: the bagel itself didn't taste house made to me. Honestly tasted a little Costco-adjacent, which is hilarious considering Costco is literally across the street. But that's also on me because I didn't get it toasted. Rookie mistake. Toast your bagel, people. This is valuable community information. And honestly, it takes a LOT for me to hand out five stars. I grade restaurants like Simon Cowell judging karaoke night. But the service alone almost got them there by itself. Add the fresh breakfast, hidden gem atmosphere, and that ridiculous sauce, and yeah... I'll absolutely be back. Pro tip #1: Toast the bagel.Pro tip #2: Get the sauce.Pro tip #3: Don't be like me and accidentally ignore this place for nearly two decades. Four and a half stars.
