young owner man gave to me for FREE to try it. This the nicest thing for all the wealth, health, & blessings your way.

I was there waiting for a coconut bun about an hour an a half. The young owner was so so very helpful, nice, great customer service ever. I asks him question about the items in the bakery. He then gave me forFREE to go try the all coconut bread. No ever give anyone anything for free now a days but, this young owner gentleman was so generous gave me this for free. I did purchase 4 item before he graceful offered me to take it and try it. This young man deserves all the blessing, health , wealth for himself & his business. I just can't say enough of how generous & kind hearted person he is. I hope he gets to see this post for is one in a million. Thank you so very much. Once again I wish you & your business all the wonders of good blessings alw

I've passed by this bakery over the years but either it was after hours, or wasn't having any cravings for baked items, but I finally did and got to check out this J.J.'s in town. I don't think this is part of the actual J.J. Bakery (same name, but very different vibe here), but this one has tables and seats in the back and has a more modern look and feel. There's only two staff members working here at a time - think one is the owner and other is staff. But their bakery selections are of an abundance, with your Pineapple Buns, Taro Buns, Hot Dog Buns, cakes and also drinks. I picked up one of the Melon Flaky Pastry (forget its name...) and also one of their Rice Rolls. Both were pretty good, with the pastry item being my favorite. The Rice Roll was about $5 and the Melon Pastry about $3 (before tax). Their items are fresh, but they serve it all with Irvine prices lol. Two items for almost 10 bucks. Worth the visit though if you're ever wanting some Taiwanese baked goods. Lots of parking here, as it's inside a large shopping plaza.

If we are comparing pricing for birthday cakes from Asian bakeries, then J.J. Bakery wins for being a more affordable option. I ordered a 8" vanilla chiffon cake with strawberry filling for my boyfriend's dad's birthday. The cake cost $38, which I think is quite affordable in this economy! The cake tasted decent, and there was plenty of fruit on top and inside of the cake; however, it was on the drier side. Also, I was disappointed that the Irvine location did not participate in the Thanksgiving promotion and didn't have any Thanksgiving cakes available for preorder. If you are interested in their seasonal cakes, you are better off ordering at the Rowland Heights location, which does offer seasonal promotions.

Matcha moon cake

I love a well decorated bakery. It's honestly so peaceful and aesthetically pleasing. I love that I can spend my adult money on things like this! They did have a $5 minumum cash only so when I grabbed the $4.95 moon cake the cashier told me I had to spend more than $5 to use my card! No biggie. I grabbed green tea cookies and they were very nice! Can't wait to have some with my tea. To my surprise, I really enjoyed the moon cake.

Chicken Pie - delicious!

Last minute pop in before my appointment at PureLux. I love Culver Plaza because there is plenty of parking spots and the aisles are nice and wide. JJ Bakery had shared outdoor seating which is nice. Convenient hours too. It smells heavenly in there. So many choices too. I had a Chicken Pie and it was fresh, warm and delicious!!! Ok, bye.

5 Stars ALL THE WAY! I have no idea why this place only has three stars because if there were six stars available, that's what I would give this wonderful bakery! We discovered this place on our last trip from Vegas and when we were back in the area, we could not wait to get back here. Everything is so super fresh and it's not overly sweet. My husband and I always look forward to loading up on baked goods to keep in the hotel room and enjoy while we're visiting California and in the area. I really enjoyed the winter melon and read Bean pastries I had. My husband got quite a few croissant looking pastries one had tarot in it and it was absolutely delicious again not crazy sweet and the bread was so super soft & fresh. they have a beautiful case, filled with different kinds of cakes and all kinds of other delicious treats. I do not understand why this place is not 5 stars. In fact my husband wanted to come back and load up on treats to take home to Vegas!

Panda bread & ham and egg sandwich
Miranda C.

I came here for a quick snack/lunch! The egg and ham sandwich was good! Bread was soft and there was good amount of mayo throughout the sandwich. I also grabbed the "panda bread" which is a chocolate cake like bread that is wrapped around white bread. The chocolate part of the bread was pretty moist but the white bread part was too dry. I did enjoy the combination of these two breads though. Service was nice and quick. The cashier was very friendly and smiley. There are a few booths towards the side of the store if you want to sit and eat. Other than that, it's your typical grab and go bakery. They had a large assortment of sweet and savory breads, sandwiches, pastries, and cakes as well.

No more breakfast

Came here to try their breakfast but they no longer serve it. Lots of parking in this plaza.

This bakery is so underrated! I came in on a late night to pick up a last minute cake and they have a huge selection to choose from. I love how they have different sizes! I opted for a medium cake and it was the perfect size. They also threw in a "happy birthday" sign which was so sweet and thoughtful! We got the tiramisu cake and it was delicious.

one of the top asian bakeries in this area!!! it ticks all the boxes - good quality, lots of variety, and not too pricy - i got the cream cheese tart, coffee almond cookies, and pine nut filled pastry one highlight is their selection of bday cakes, plus the birthday candles (very convenient) the indoor seating is nice, reminds me of any other asian restaurant - the staff mainly speak mandarin which is nice & they are quick/patient

They've definitely maximized the amount of seating in the place. The wait is relatively quick though. Service is quick friendly. Price is very fair for what you are getting and it's nice. Food wise, definitely get the porkchop rice plate. It's well cooked, seasoned and a good balance with some rice, noodles, veggies, and protein. I would pass on the braised pork rice. The pictures on the menu and on the displays made it look so appetizing, but what came out was just average and not like the pictures. Definitely fell victim to the in-store advertisements. The pork was okay, small portion, but I think it's fair for price. A lot of rice too. The popcorn chicken was also good, good amount of seasoning, well cooked. Portion size was a decent and good snack while you eat. Teas are also good. The black tea in particular is strong and has an herbal grass jelly taste to it, while the green tea is lighter and more refreshing. Good place to eat for a nice casual meal.

It's about time I reviewed them! My number one dish goes to the minced pork rice- it's a pretty simple dish, but it's sooo good here for some reason. I've ordered this dish at other Taiwanese restaurants and nothing compares to the one at A&J- the pork is always SO flavorful, never dry and enough to coat all the rice, the egg is perfection, and all the little garnishes compliment the dish so well. It's also just as amazing takeout which I always appreciate. Other go-tos are the spicy beef noodle soup- the beef in it is always so tender and I love getting the thick noodle option because of the rough texture it adds. Beef roll and pan fried dumplings are always a good option for sharing. Have tried a lot of things on their menu and nothing so far has disappointed!

This has long been our go-to for Taiwanese comfort food, and while the flavors weren't always 100% authentic, they hit the spot. However, our recent visits have been disappointing. The restaurant has become incredibly "penny-pinching" with their service. I was recently told there would be a $1 charge just for a sprinkle of scallions and another $1 for a small side of clear broth for my dry noodles--requests that were never an issue before. Furthermore, when we ordered extra noodles for my son's beef noodle soup, the original portion seemed intentionally smaller, defeating the purpose of paying for the add-on. Between the degraded service and the "nickel-and-diming" atmosphere, it is no longer worth the 30-minute drive. The vibe has changed, and the pleasure of dining here is gone.

They don't have many table to seat large parties (3+) they mostly have bar seating and the booth seating is pretty tightly packed so just a heads up that if you have a larger party you might need to wait longer. Passion fruit green tea and this was definitely my favorite thing I ordered that day the drink was so light, refreshing, flavorful, but not too sweet the passion fruit seeds being in the drink was annoying though. (4/5) Spicy XLB they came out quick but I wished they were hotter they were just warm but delicious flavor and filling sadly was not spicy though no kick no heat at all. (3/5) Beef rolls nice and crispy lots of scallions and the cucumbers added a nice fresh aspect and crunch but needed more sauce. (3/5) Pan fried dumplings took the longest to come out were crispy but not that flavorful again very filling though. (2/5) Golden prime beef noodle soup I'm sorry but this was just not for my taste at all I can't even describe what flavor the soup was something I have never had before very unique. The noodles were nice and chewy but again I'm expecting soup to be hot but it just came out warm. (1/5) They had some sauce and chili oil on the table and I made a mix but it did not help add flavor to any of the items. I ordered too much and the leftover beef rolls and pan fried dumplings reheated well in the air fryer.

They had that lighter, slightly chewy texture that stands out compared to the usual. On a random weekday they had a good crowd for lunch, mostly office types from the surrounding buildings. It wasn't hard to get a table, but the food did take a bit longer than expected to come out. Pricewise you aren't looking at a bargain, but it's not unreasonable. I imagine parking might be difficult if it is more crowded as there are a limited number of spots in the parking lot and it has a funky one-way design. Overall this is a decent lunch spot if you're nearby and something different from the norm. Four solid stars.

We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost.
