2 meat plate with sausage/turkey, macaroni and cheese and fried okra
    Em G.

Food is good, we really like the sausage and the bbq turkey. The bad part is when you order the 2 meat plate as a to go order they never give you the bread that is included in the 2 meat plate description. We've ordered to go 3 times and have never been given our bread. The prices are high for the food you get and the fact that you basically pay for bread they never give you it's kind of a rip off.

    Definitely NOT busy.

Mary was the absolute worst!! We came as a party of 10 and wanted to sit together at one table. The restaurant was NOT busy at ALL!! She told us that we could either sit at two separate tables or go to another restaurant. I cannot believe how absolutely RUDE she was!!! I will compliment our waiter however, as Eric was very polite and did a great job. Still, I am completely astonished on how bad the management (Mary) was.

Food was delicious, there is a good selection of food to choose from such as salad, steak or bbq. Staff was friendly!

I enjoyed the chicken fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. I tried both the brown and white gravy, they were good but nothing spectacular. Its not a place I'd go out of my way for. But overall I enjoyed my meal and would definitely eat here again. Our waitress was also very nice.

I don't know why it took me so long to eat here. I've eaten hamburgers catered by them and it was great. It's also close to my house. So I stopped in for lunch and had a great meal. Not sure why their stars are low. Fun Texas interior, reasonably clean, good service (a miracle these days with all the staff shortages), and a good menu selection. I had a 2 meat plate with fatty brisket and turkey, Cody corn (creamed corn) and potato salad. Comes with (very good) jalapeño cornbread and country white bread. Everything was good. The brisket was juicy and very flavorful, the turkey was moist, the sides were yummy and the BBQ sauce was a nice vinegary version that wasn't too sweet. Portions are generous, too. I would certainly come back. Next time will try the BBQ stuffed potatoes or a burger. Recommended.

Nice place the food was pretty good. Would eat here again. They have several Sides on a bar you pick from.

Korey was the best server! Very kind and attentive. The food was so delicious! The cornbread was so moist and flavorful! The brisket, sausage and sausage with jalapeño was thee best ever! The atmosphere was geared toward Texas A & M traditions and very informative. Would recommend this establishment!

Came in for lunch and HAD to write about our exceptional service at J Cody's Steaks & BBQ! Our waitress Madison was phenomenal!!!! She took the time to learn ALL of our names and even gave us extra bread! If you have the chance to come here, make sure you request this DOLL! AND our doll waitress all of us togo drinks that are bigger than our heads!! she's the BEST!

    Ribs and chicken

The food was awesome at J Cody's. The bbq ribs were fall off the bone good and the chicken was delicious. The thing I really liked was how they heated up the bbq sauce. I put it on the already delicious ribs and it just sent me to heaven. The chicken was really good. The only problem that I had at all was the amount of chicken they give you. It was not much with 2 ribs. I was a little salty because most bbq places don't skimp but they try and make it up on the sides. Luckily the Cody corn and pinto beans were delicious. But still would like more meat. The service was good and the servers were really nice. The ambiance was very Texas a lot of wood and cowboy stuff. I will still give them 5 stars but the loaded brisket sandwich had more meat than my two meat plate. My wife on the other hand had the same two meat plate with ribs and brisket and she definitely got the better end. Must have been access brisket this day because everyone got a lot of brisket. While I barely got any chicken. But J Cody's everyone has a bad day occasionally. Your food is good. Just put a Texas sized portion of chicken with that two plate and you will get six stars because it was good.

Seasoned perfect to eat by itself, but it came with 4 different restaurant-made steak sauces. Mesquite Smoked Short Ribs- very tender and can be torn to shreds with a fork. Smoked Mashed Potatoes- very thick and smokey, but delicious. Definitely need some water lol. Poblano Creamed Corn- my wife liked this, but I didn't care for that creamy corn texture lol. Dessert: Marie Antoinette Cake- chocolate mousse cake that was perfectly rich with some kind of raspberry or berry drizzle. Also came with these super delicious alcoholic infused strawberries that paired super well. Overall, it was a pricey dinner, but not as pricey as I thought. Definitely had a great time and worth the price and experience. The restaurant ambience was dim and cabin-like setting with lots of beautiful decor. We were met by our waitress who was phenomenal- she got us a little candle and was honestly so engaging to talk to. The food was outstanding! So much so that I totally forgot to take a picture. My husband got a curried fish dish that was excellent. It had Smokey greens, black beans, and a full fish in a delicious curry sauce that I ended up mopping my fries in.
