People always say there is no difference in gas quality, but for some reason I always get more "zip" with this Mobil station. If I pay cash, it's only a few steps to the inside attendant. The reason I do not give it 5 stars, is the young blonde guy who was always super friendly, enthusiastic and ready to help is no longer there. Lately, another young man with dark hair is there now, and does not make eye contact. I walked in to pay and hat to wait 6 minutes before he came out to the register to take my cash. He said nothing to me, and acted like I disturbed him? On the plus, this station does not charge for air in your tires!

I had recently spent $1932 at another repair shop to have a catalytic converter put on my honda crv so I came here to Ray's for my routine smog($40). It failed due to drive pattern being incomplete. I returned 5 weeks later and failed again for same issue ($40). I was outside of 30 day windows for a free retest. Anyway, I then did a super complicated drive pattern and according to my diagnostic testing tool, my car was finally ready to pass smog! So I returned for the 3rd time, about a week after my second fail, and this time, my experience was HORRIFIC and left me in tears. I am scarred from the incident. The guy in charge said I had to come back the next day because they don't do retests after 4:00pm. It was no big deal as I hate to be that person! As I was leaving they called me back and said they changed their mind. I was so grateful at that point as I have been through so much already. He gets my car hooked up then calls me over and starts reminding me that the retest is a complimentary service. I wasn't sure what to say but I told him that I had paid for two smogs already that this is the only retest I've been here for. He wanted to see my receipts so I started looking. I informed him that I had just gotten a bunch of work done on my car and it should pass this time. That was a big mistake. Now he's hounding me about what work I got done and why I didn't come there to do it. I told him I didn't know they did work like that. He points up to a sign and says what do you mean you didn't know we do work? What are you doing here if you didn't know? I really didn't know what to say, except that I was confused and I didn't know you do catalytic converters here. He smacked my hood down and told his workers to get my car out of there and for me to come back tomorrow because I rolled my eyes at him. I didn't roll my eyes I was trying to keep the tears from falling. I was in shock and I was scared of him. As soon as he saw me cry he yelled at the guy and told him to bring my car back in. At this point I thought this man was unstable. He hooked my car up and was looking around in there and called me over again to tell me he was going to fail it again because he couldn't read the number of the catalytic converter. I was still crying I could not understand why he was doing this to me. I was trying to call the shop that put it on but they put me on hold. I just thought forget it I'm going to take my car out of here and drive over to the other shop and tell him what's going on and get any extra information I might need regardingthe catalytic converter. Ray said aren't you going to wait for a receipt? So I waited and waited while he typed and then wrote stuff down then typed again. He gave me my paper and it said he was unable to verify my catalytic converter and that it was going to require one hour of Labor in order to hoist it up in their garage and get the number off of it. Everything on my vehicle passed smog except he added to a visual inspection that catalyst was "tampered" with. This was not necessary. He used his own words to Red Flag my vehicle. I showed up at my regular shop and he told me that this guy is rotten. He said lately he's been really messing with people and upsetting them. I'm still in shock by this happening to me. If you knew me, I'm always very courteous and respectful to people. This guy was mad that I didn't pay them to do my repairs so now he's trying to charge me for 1 hour more of Labor. The reason I gave them 2 stars, is for his other employees. A few of them that have helped me including the younger kid especially, are some of the most kind people. That man does not deserve to have them working for him. Please don't go there. I've never dealt with a worse business owner. I've now been referred to J&S smog on Olympic Parkway in Grass Valley. Wish me luck that this red flag doesn't create me more problems that I don't deserve. I will call the the Better Business Bureau and complain.

After the first check, they said everything was fine. The brake sensors said they needed replacement but were actually wrong. I appreciated that they didn't just replace my brakes and take my money, honestly means a lot, especially in the auto industry. I still felt like there was something to be looked at and they had me come in and drive with their technical manager, Lorne. They were more than accommodating, Lorne was very thorough and talked me through everything and showed me what I needed to look for when they will need replacement. I appreciate that. They stand by their work and we'll make things right if someone doesn't feel like it is. I now feel safer and reassured that my car is good to drive. I definitely will come back again when the time comes!

I was camping nearby and my battery decided to reach the end of its life. luckily someone in the next camp ground was able to jump my car. I bought a battery at another shop and came to Todd to have it smogged. After a quick switch out and then running a quick test to make sure everything was in order they sent me on my way with "don't worry about it". Being young and sometimes dumb (lol) but full of adventure this was just such a kindness that I'm truly grateful for. Thanks Todd for getting me back on the road!

If you look at the rare 1 star reviews, there are numerous inconsistencies, versus the numerous 5 stars in addition to the transparency provided by this shop. Today, I requested a diagnostic of a specific issue. I was already aware of what it "could" be and Danny took the time to show me what the issue was...a wheel bearing. it can be nice when the customer and the business end up on the same page. Sometimes that doesn't happen. Customers really should understand how the process works and how a business is run before getting "triggered". Always competitive pricing and this shop can do it all. Excellent customer service and they have an excellent shuttle service as well!

It's smog check up the road, and so I needed to drive it about 50 miles or so to "reset the car's computer, " before it would pass . I decided to stop here for an oil change before I did that, as the car was way overdue. I was helped by Mike. He's helped me before, he's always thorough, friendly, and helpful. He got me checked in, he told me the different options for an oil change, and I told him which one I wanted. They did the oil change, and I was out in about 15 to 20 minutes. The price was extremely reasonable. Everything was great. Before I left, on the side, I happened to mention that I had needed the oil change because of the smog check. He said, oh, before you take the car back to the smog shop, stop in here, we will do a pretest to make sure you drove enough to reset the computer. I said, no charge? Nope That was nice of him. I drove 45 miles "up the hill" to Pollock Pines, to look at all of the pretty new snow. I came back, it took less than five minutes to do the pretest, and he told me, "green lights all the way." I took the car back to the smog shop and passed with flying colors. As I mentioned, I've always gotten great service here at Danny's. Thank you, Mike, for taking that extra step for me. I truly appreciate it. I will be back.
