Smog Ace is the place to take your vehicle for that smog test we need to abide by. This establishment is top notch. Gordon the owner is professional, friendly and prompt. No wasting time, gets your car smogged and paper work completed in mere minutes. The waiting room is immaculate, the vehicle testing area is also immaculate and there is a restroom for your convenience. Gordon's been doing this for years and with his own business now, he's got his business perfected! Thanks Gordon! Great experience. See you in a couple years read more

This is the best place I've ever had a smog service at In-N-Out. No problems super clean owners. Awesome. I highly recommend it.

I had an out of state vehicle that needed a smog. I found this guy online, and in the time it's taking me to write this review, he got me squared away, tested, and back out the door. $20 off coupon was a nice find on their website. 10/10 would recommend. He was quick and friendly. read more

Clean, fast and friendly. Before I knew it, the owner had the smog done and I was out the door.

I was overwhelmed when I discovered that I needed a smog test to register "Tina," my car, at the DMV. But then, fortune smiled upon me when I found SmoG Ace on Yelp! And guess what? Gordon was there! He was fantastic! I walked in, and within just 15-20 minutes, I was back at the DMV--and I couldn't believe how quick and efficient it was! The location is a gem--super easy to get to with plenty of parking, which is a huge bonus. I'm definitely making SmoG Ace my go-to spot and telling everyone I know about it! The shop is sparkling clean, and to top it all off, they even have complimentary coffee! Thanks Gordon. You rock! read more

The service was amazing. Gordon squeezed me in between customers. He is awesome. I highly recommend this place.

Best price in town. Super fast and efficient. In and out legit within 10 minutes. No bs.

Needed to take my '96 Bronco in for a smog test and was able to schedule the appointment right away. Arrived, had a nice waiting room, and the test was done quickly. Staff was friendly and clearly knowledgeable. Would definitely go there again! read more

Great place to get your smog. Good people and very clean. Much Appreciated. Near Home Depot read more

Made an easy appointment online, was greeted by name upon arrival before even walking inside, although it was busy the service was fast and friendly. Be sure to grab the online coupon, change to desktop mode if it doesn't show up on your phone at first. Cost was $60 after the coupon and including the fees. Great waiting room, and no problem scanning the DMV barcode on my phone, unlike some places in the county who want you to print everything. So happy to have a reputable place in Placerville to get smog done easy, with weekend appointments and great service! read more

Fast and efficient, excellent reputation well deserved! I was in and out as promised.

Scheduled a 15 minute appointment and I was in and out in 15 minutes! Nice shop, very friendly staff. I will be back.

1...2...Smog. Done! Took longer to drive there than the wait and smog test itself. Owner was ready to get my truck smogged at 8:30am even though I hadn't made an appt (Which I do recommend by the way, easily able to on their website.) Price for smog is pretty much comparable to other local shops. Actions speak louder than words, like when an owner meets you halfway before even coming into the shop to see how he can help. Unlike other shops where they make you feel like an inconvenience. This shop is CLEAN, offers guests coffee and is conveniently located across from Home Depot. Nobody likes having to get a smog test, but this place made it suck less. read more

I started going to smog ace when they first opened, with a fleet of cars and family, trying to give local business, business. He does give a 20off coupon thats what drew us in. However his customer service is crap he is very rude and to take it so much further we sent our 16 year old there without parents thinking it was ok NOPE!!! This man took advantage of a kid! Took his 70$ with no excuse! We will take our business elsewhere. read more

Have brought all my cars and trucks here!! Very efficient fast!! Would highly recommend him. The owner is knowledgeable!!! Five star service!! read more

Smog Ace is our new go-to! I was in need of a smog test and didn't feel like driving in the rain, so I decided to look for a smog shop a bit closer to home. I noticed a new spot in my search that I didn't see before, and after reading all the great reviews, I decided to try them out. Made a quick appointment online (which was super easy), and upon showing up, the owner, Gordon, was ready to take me in and get to testing. Gordon was super friendly, professional, and really knows his stuff. And even though he's fast, he still has a great waiting room for you to hang out in and relax. If you are in the area, or if you don't mind making a trip for great service, definitely give Smog Ace a shot and Gordon will take care of you! Great pricing, excellent service, and super cool guy! Thanks Gordon! read more

SMOG Certification done efficiently, quickly, and great price with a coupon. I've had Smog tests done in my Pollock Pines area for 11 years now and finally found my 'home' because Gordon made it delightful and easy for me. I had checked around and even cancelled my appointment at my dealer due to hiked costs since last one. I loved my experience, thank you Gordon! read more

Friendly, fast, great price, very impressed with the service. I went in for a smog check and it was totally seamless and professional.

So I have quite a few cars in my family some of which are specialty vehicles. I live in Sacramento so you can imagine how much I appreciate the service I get with Gordon to drive all the way to Placerville. Gordon always takes the maximum time he needs to research and get my vehicles dialed for a good smog test. He's concise in what he needs to see and is amazing with his communication. The service is always fast and the price is right. I will follow this guy wherever he is! read more

Wanted to post a shout out for Smog Ace! Great new and local business in Placerville. I was able to book an appointment online and got in and out lickety split! My short wait was indoor in a nice and cool waiting room. Much appreciated with the heat we have been having! I was a bit worried that my older vehicle wouldn't pass, plus that Smog Ace offers reasonable re-test price. Fortunately passed with flying colors. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and even sent out a thank you note! When does that happen anymore?! Shop is easy to get to and has good parking. Definitely will be back when our other vehicles are due! https://www.smogace.biz/ (530) 719-7664 read more

Smog Ace is not only responsibly priced and easy to schedule, they are extremely efficient, no wasted time get you in and get on your way, my kinda place. Fast and friendly with fair prices for smog! Highly recommend. Right across from Home Depot.

Gordon got my smog done quickly and clearly knows his stuff! I'll be taking all of my vehicles here in the future!

I was able to get an appointment quickly. The staff was professional and the cost was very fair.

Had to leave a review for Gordon!! I was fresh out of the DMV in need of a fast smog check to finish my out of state registration, and Gordon answered right away when I called and got me in within 10 minutes. He's about a 1 minute drive from the DMV so super convenient location, and was so helpful and friendly. He even helped me get back into the DMV online queue after my 10 minute speedy smog check was done and helped me change my plates. This definitely was a bright spot in my terribly boring vehicle registration day--highly recommend Smog Ace! read more
