This is my second visit and I really appreciate the service I have received. The staff is friendly (as are the dogs behind the desk ) and I never feel upsold. This time in the course of checking my car they identified that I needed a nail removed from a tire--a service they don't perform--and they circled the nail, recommended another business and called ahead for me. Prices are fair and I like patronizing independent businesses in my neighborhood. read more

Top Tech is the best for your vehicle maintenance and repairs! Went today..march 6..see receipt. What i like about this place is that they don't try to upsell you! Its refreshing as a single woman to not be taken advantage of when it comes to repairs on your vehicle. Today i got my car smogged and everything ran smoothly. I made an appointment which really helps. They have a warm sitting area with wifi and complimentary coffee and water. Conveniently located off of Rough and Ready Highway in Grass Valley ( across from the cemetery). KAILA waited on me and she was friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience as usual! I believe its family owned and customer service is very important to them! I am thankful i found this place a few years ago. Great job! read more

This is my go to place for Uhaul rentals. Kind, friendly service --they go out of their way to help us when we have last-minute needs. They almost always have trucks available Unlike a lot of other locations. I can't speak for the automotive department, but if it's as good as their service for Uhaul rentals, then it will be excellent! read more

the most amazing honest!!!!! always have my service done with utmost competence and never fails to be friendly and very communicative! i truly am so happy to send my child off with great safety to university. read more

Needed a car repair and they were recommended. Fair price and nice folks to work with.

Quick, easy service with a very friendly staff (they have doggies!) and a bit lower than the average price around Grass Valley.

Professional, Knowledgeable, Friendly & Honest .. My 2009 Sienna's windshield fluid spray system stopped working. And I wanted to get it fixed asap. They were able to squeeze me in, said it would probably be an hour job and would likely require a $200 part. Well .. they were able to fix it with $90 in parts, and only charged for a half-hour labor. Plus .. they're REALLY NICE PEOPLE. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this place. I'll be coming back to them for general maintenance and future repairs my Toyota needs. read more

Took my truck in to have a "check engine" light diagnosed but the truck was running fine. INTENTIONALLY misdiagnosed my check engine light as a timing chain issue and tried to saddle me with a 7,000 dollar engine replacement. My vehicle was returned to me with the horrendous estimate and I left the shop. 1 mile down the road my brakes went out completely as I slid to a stop about 15 feet from a steep embankment that would have surely injured me or worse had IU gone over the edge. I popped the hood and found that TOP TECH had returned my vehicle to me with THE BRAKE BOOSTER DISCONNECTED (could have killed me)...AN EGR MODULE DISCONNECTED and the MAF SENSOR ENCASEMENT WIDE OPEN. i reconnected everything and barely made it home as the truck was now struggling to make even 5 MPH. When I got home I ran a diagnostic with my code reader and found that the codes that were there when I brought the truck in to TOP TECH were cleared and there was a new code I had NEVER SEEN OR HAD BEFORE I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO TOP TECH. This was a P0206 open cylinder code referring to a short in the fuel injector wiring (or bad injector) on cylinder 6. I knew the injector wasn't bad because they were brand new so I bought a new set of pigtails connectors for 10 DOLLARS and wired them in myself and BOOYAH! Check engine light went off and the truck now runs fine and passed smog. NO 7000 DOLLAR ENGINE REPLACEMENT and I didn't die. I don't know what's going on in Dennis's life that would have him intentionally pull this kind of crap but he had better get a handle on the CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE before it gets a HANDLE ON HIM. read more

Top Tech is awesome!!! They helped me out when I suddenly found myself in a pinch more than once. Great service, efficient, reasonably priced, and they give it to you straight. read more

I had a pre-purchase vehicle inspection here for $140. The mechanics did a thorough one hour inspection even down to finding a nail in one of the tires! (No compression test) This inspection gave me the knowledge I needed to make a clear decision about the vehicle of interest. I would definitely utilize their services again. They are honest, gave me their opinion on whether it would be a sound purchase and provided estimates for the work that the vehicle would need. They can also pull up a simple Carfax - some Carfax info like recalls not given. The staff are kind, thoughtful and very welcoming. read more

Super friendly people. Great dog acting as the welcoming committee (Tank is a good boy!). Turned out I needed some service that only one place around here offers so I had to take it there but they didn't charge me a dime. Would definitely come back for future needs. read more

My wife and I came up to Nevada City from San Francisco to house sit for friends and started to experience brake problems. The mechanic a friend recommended was totally booked but suggested the only other mechanics he would recommend was Top Tech Automotive. Even though they also were completely booked, Top Tech had sympathy and understanding of our situation and squeezed us in for a test drive and then squeezed us in to fix our brakes the next day. Being wary of mechanics you don't know, I started reading the reviews and was blown away. Without exception, every review of about a hundred was a glowing superlative of their outstanding experience with Top Tech Automotive. Honesty, customer friendly, fair pricing, top-notched mechanics were some of the qualities mentioned. And that's what we experienced too. In fact, it was even entertaining thanks to the warmth, humor and attentiveness of Sarah and Kaila. So whether you're a visitor with a limited amount of time or a resident, I would highly recommend Top Tech Automotive. Noah and Adele read more

I brought my 2005 Toyota Tundra in for a blown head gasket and the entire staff was AWESOME ! I FINALLY found a automotive repair shop that I can trust ! If I could give them a 6th star I certainly would! Thanks again Top Tech Automotive...You have a new customer from here on out ! read more

Best prices in town with timely quality service highly recommended. I Always leave 100% satisfied.

The rain was coming, and my windshield wiper was broken. I could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong, and it was dangerous even in a drizzle. I didn't have an appointment but I was willing to wait as long as was needed. BUT, they knew what was probably wrong without needing to do a whole lot of investigation. They were able to squeeze me in for a quick check, and it turned out to be a quick fix. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. They saved me. I am super grateful for their knowledge and help, and I will be definitely be returning for future automotive needs. Thank you Top Tech! read more

There is a reason a business receives 5 star ratings from their customers. Excellent customer service and friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of. I had to be out of Grass Valley and headed back to Mississippi in the next several days, and they made sure my truck was ready for the long drive home. It's nice to do business with local people who still care about the people they serve. read more

My only experience with this repair shop has been for Smog checks. They are able to schedule quickly and get the job done. Never had an issue with them! read more

Too expensive. Not sure they are honest either. They were nickel and diming me to death. Found out that they are overcharging me on parts after I went to local Parts Store where the employee gave me prices. They are doubling and tripling them and they are only a mile away. read more

I was referred to this business by my neighbor who has used them for years. I have nothing but great things to say about this business. They were HONEST, pleasant and did great timely work. We had extensive work done on our family Honda Odyssey van and a routine service on our Tundra. I will be using them for all our automotive needs. Thanks again!!! read more

Huge thanks to the team at Top Tech Automotive for another job well done! It is rare to find a business that's not only good to their customers, but also very honest and trustworthy. Every one of you is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for being so good to our family. Happy holidays!! read more

This place is the best. Integrity, help you as quickly as possible using the cheapest/most non invasive options before getting into more expensive fixes. Wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Thank you Dennis and Sarah! read more

I went in for a smog and was greeted immediately and taken care of. The staff was friendly and family oriented. My smog was completed roughly twenty minutes after I entered the business and was under $50. I am very satisfied and I will be back for other services. read more

Top tech was the first auto shop I brought my car into when I moved to grass valley 5 years ago. Their service is impeccable, very friendly staff makes you feel like family is behind the counter working on your car. I've had a lot of problems with my truck In the last two years and they have always got me back on the road quickly with confidence in my truck running well. If they haven't worked on your car yet you're a clown. read more

Honest businessman. I needed my Toyota key cut and I was almost certain it needed to be programmed. I called, said i have a blank key and he took care of me. he checked and it didnt need programming. charged me only to cut. read more

It is nice to find an honest mechanic! This company took great care of us and didn't over charge. I know very little about cars and it would have been easy to take advantage of us ... but they didn't. On top of that, they got us in and out the same day without an appointment. Impressive. Thank you Top Tech! read more

I really like this place. I brought my Honda CR-V for a smog check and the staff was very nice and the place was very clean. I will always keep coming back to Top Tech to have my car serviced. read more

Took my Ford Fiesta to Top Tech when another repair shop could not solve my AC problem. Top Tech fixed the AC at the same time repaired a new transmission leaking problem (saving us a few bucks by not having to send any of it out). I came to get my repaired car and found they also cleaned out the inside of the vehicle. It looked like new!!! I was so pleasantly surprised and my problems are fixed!!!! So nice to know people in town you can trust. Sarah at the counter is very nice and extremely efficient. My family and I have been coming here for years and years, and have always been extremely happy with the service and prices. Their mechanics are good at what they do, and quick! I usually get my car back quicker than expected. Most importantly, they are honest. Without knowing my car was still under warranty, I sent it to them for a fix, they arranged the dealership warranty repair for me and got everything towed & handled on a day I was swamped - I found out later thanks to their exceptional service on a job they weren't even getting PAID for that my vehicle had been fixed on literally the last day of its warranty. Could not recommend these guys more. read more

They're the best! Skilled, friendly, and kind. Not a combination you often find at an automotive repair business. I started going to Top Tech in 2009. Though it's no fun to have a problem with your car, I enjoy going to Top Tech when my car needs fixing. I know that Dennis and his crew will get the job done right and on time. And Michelle, who manages the office, is always cheerful and has a smile for everyone who walks through the door. Choose Top Tech for your auto repair and you'll be a happier person. read more

Dennis, Michelle, Sarah and their crew are all top notch. My go to for expert Honda repair, I've never been disappointed. Thanks for your continued great service! read more

Performed smog check for better price than anyone else, and not much longer than they said it would take. Had coffee for me while I waited.

We have taken our cars here a few times because the location was so convenient to where we live and work, we have had a great experience every time. The cost has been reasonable and the work always done efficiently. It is difficult to find a mechanic that you feel you can trust, Top Tech has earned my trust. read more

I love these guys! I bought a car down in the Sacramento and had it checked out by a "Honda Specialist" the guy said we needed $2,500 worth of repairs. They all seemed silly to me so I decided to buy it and see. I took the car to top tech who I have trusted for years. He said there was nothing wrong with it and after a year driving it without problems I know he was right. These guys will never sell you something you don't need and the work they do is done quickly and well. Highly recommended! read more
