Excellent service and quality. Get there early, this shop is hopping. Parking is a challenge but they do great work!

I want to share my very disappointing experience at this establishment. I took my truck's remote control to have the battery replaced, and after the service, I discovered that the remote had been left unprogrammed. Because of this, I can no longer unlock my vehicle. When I called to explain what happened, the person who answered was visibly annoyed and completely unhelpful. They told me that they only did what I requested--replace the battery--and that unlocking my truck or reprogramming the remote would both come with additional charges. No apology, no explanation, no willingness to help. I mentioned that customers should be warned if a simple battery replacement could cause such issues, but the representative responded with a rude and dismissive attitude. Every comment I made was cut off with "that's just how the service works," without offering any solution or even basic courtesy. It is honestly a shame that there is no option to give zero stars, because it would suit them perfectly. I sincerely recommend looking elsewhere. This place lacks professionalism, courtesy, and any sense of customer care. read more

Fast, efficient, hard working, responsive, friendly, helpful, nice staff and business. They copy car keys for a reasonable price and they have a physical store. They also fix broken car locks if needed. I called them and they were super responsive. I texted them pics of my keys to see if they made them and they responded asap. My copy of my Fiat 2013 Turbo 500 was $225. My Smart car copy was $250. Done. AC inside store and has a waiting area w chairs. Credit card minimum is $25. Thank you! read more

I went in to their Cicero location to program 2 extra remotes for my 2006 VW rabbit. I was quoted $65 over the phone and when I first walked in. I was told later that because of the complexity of the process that it would be $125. After an unsuccess attempt at programming the remotes I was told that the charge was now $250 for the work done on the two remotes. They then said it was now $125 to program each remote which is not how remotes are programed. You program all the remotes at the same time so there is only one charge. I was finally charged only $125 and I was glad to get out of there. read more

Ese lugar es un desperdicio de tiempo fui a hacer arreglar un llave allí y me quisieron cobrar más de lo que es. El dueño de allí es una basura y trata muy mal a sus empleados y clientes no vayan allí gente no les recomiendo. Pésimo lugar. read more

After breaking her key in half, my wife needed a new one for her 05 Durango. The dealer wanted over $400 for new key and to program it to the truck. This place was literally half the price for a replacement and fixed the broken key for $60. The people here a courteous and capable. I was impressed how one kept her composure when she was dealing with a difficult customer (an obvious mentally challenged Karen) and delivered stellar service in the face of a stressful situation. read more

Awesome! Got the job done and we're super nice and helpful! Facility is clean and cooling. Thanks.

10/10 - Affordably priced, fast, quality work & great customer service. Will be coming here for all my key needs. Other shops quoted me $300-500 to repair my keys, they were able to do it for $100 and took care of me fast. In & out within 20min. read more

Keys locked in car - they were friendly, efficient, and affordable. Highly recommend.

Got a quote over the phone to get another car key fob. When I arrived, it was busy, but got immediate help. I don't think I was in the shop for more than 15 minutes before I got my new working key fob. I was pretty impressed by how organized and the efficient their operation is. read more

I needed to have a key made for my son. He finally earned his own copy after getting his driver's license. Remote keys are expensive. I could have opted to have a manual key made but I wanted him to have the convenience of a remote as well as the safety from the associated alarm. I was quoted $300+ by the dealership. Way too steep. Angel at Autozone recommended this company to me. I was able to have one made for less than $180 with tax. Superfast. In and out in less than 20 minutes! read more

This business was referred by another locksmith for a specialty car key. Christian spent about 20 minutes with different blanks and customizing the key. Great experience and reasonable fees for all the extra effort. Definitely recommend going there read more

wouldn't recommend this place, I recently took my car that had problem with key Ignition Lock Solenoid. I was advised it was to expensive from the employee to purchase the piece and replace it. I tried to explain to the RUDE employee that I wanted it changed however; he kept ignoring my concerns. I was charged almost 100 dollar to remove the piece only and nothing else. I paid and when I got home decided to research the part. The part only cost 20 bucks from GMC to purchase. They scammed us good. Beware of this place. read more

J & A, did the job, quickly. Young lady who served me was very professional. She knew her stuff. I hoped they could replace the chip, but she knew it would crack on removal. My key for my Buick LaCrosse ultimately needed to be replaced. GPS put me within fifty feet of the store. I was in and out with a cut key and pad in 15 minutes. I highly recommend. Great job guys. read more

J & A Remotes And Keys - Motorcycle or car keys, they do good work! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I saw why BBB gave them top rating. For such a young man, he is very professional and very knowledgeable in his craft. Been in the business for about ten years but looks like he been doing it all his life. When someone loves doing their work it truly shows. Congratulations in your business. read more

I called ahead to ask a few questions and they were super patient with me. The quote they gave me was the same that I paid when I arrived. I had a new remote key made and let me just say, they are quick, efficient, and have great customer service. I was in and out in like 15-20 minutes. I hope to never be back here again (because if I do go back there that means I lost my keys ) but in the event that I'm in need of their services, I would definitely come back here again! read more

Their technician caused a problem with the trunk lock in my car. He did not tell me about this which is obviously unethical. I then took my car to their shop. Their manager wanted $120.00 to fix a problem they created. I got it fixed elsewhere for $10. J & A will obviously rip you off and scam you every chance they get. Never patronize them. They stink to high heaven! read more

Outstanding service! Fast response, courteous, timely, very capable gave me a complimentary 2nd set. The only people I would call next time I need a locksmith home or auto read more

Overall a very good experience here at J&A. If you need any type of key but especially an automotive key they can take care of it for you at a very reasonable price. They can also repair or replace car locks, as well as install remote automatic starting systems on your vehicle which are a must when dealing with this Chicago weather! read more

The dealer wanted over $300 for a spare transponder key so I was referred to this place. I called first to ask if they do it and I was quoted $45. I headed straight over and in less than a half hour I had a new spare key that worked perfectly! I was so impressed and asked about a spare key fob. The owner said it would be $70 but he was so refreshingly honest that he said I really don't even need one because if I so happen to lose my original key and fob and set the alarm off, all I have to do is put the new spare in and start the engine and the alarm will turn off. I was so impressed by the knowledge, professionalism, and prices that I would definitely use them again if needed, and always refer anyone I know there. Thanks guys!!! read more

Called to request quote given a price of 140 when i came in after driving for an hr was told thst the price was $225!. BOGUS F THAT stay away they r a scam read more

Really good, really fast, good price. What else do you need to know. Called them and same day, they sent someone to make a key on a car.

AFFORDABLE PRICES!! Professional Service. Got my "chip" car key replaced for $45 at the Buyers Flea Market. They also sold me a remote to replace the one I had lost, also for $45 and got it programmed in less than an hour. I called another location nearby and they wanted to charge me $50 just to get my vehicle inspected. The folks at A&J know what they are doing. 5 STARS read more

I went to have to transponder keys made for my '09 Nissan Versa. The service was fast and the staff were all extremely friendly. The reason for the one star rating is that when I returned to my car and turned it on, my wheel was turned all the way upside down, the electronic power steering system was no longer working and neither was my cruise control (also an electronic system). I called the store to ask whether or not the guy who programmed my keys noticed anything strange. The man who answered the phone quickly shut me down saying they had nothing to do with the problem and rushed me off the phone. Now I am stuck to take my car to a mechanic to fix a problem that I know was caused by them without them taking any responsibility or even offering to check it out. read more

Came at 6:56 pm today and there closing time was at 7:00pm had some key fobs I bought on the Internet and was very helpful in explaining that one of the key was made wrong and that it might not work. Very knowledgeable and was not in any rush to close which I liked a lot I think I felt like I was rushing them in the end one of the keys worked fine and the charged me $3 each key duplicated which was a reasonable price will come again with any car key issues read more

Called here as I had just bought a car with one key/two fobs and wanted another key made. They quoted me $45 which was 1/3 of what the dealer wanted. Stopped by that afternoon and had two keys made. They worked perfectly and it took about 10 minutes. Great service, great deal! read more

I call to ask about programming for a spare key for my 2012 Mercedes Benz E350 and the staff there is very nice, helpful, and respond to any questions I had. Before I take my car there they said it takes about 2hrs to program my car key but it only take him 30mins and it's done very fast service. When I came in the stuff is really nice and greeted me right away. The owner who program my key is very nice and knows what he doing. Very good place, service, and reasonably price highly recommended. read more

Call with a issue about my remote starting system and was informed that I had a lifetime warranty and told to come in at a specific time, once arriving the gentleman goes out inspect my vehicle and comes back in and tells me that it's working fine at the moment. I explained to him exactly how the system is malfunctioning and ask him if he can reset the unit and he says yes do you have a receipt. I explained to him that I do not have a receipt and that the woman did not inform me that I needed to bring a receipt with me for validation and confirmation that they did in fact install a system of their own in my vehicle. Now to reset the unit he wants to charge me a fee and I'm not paying it. In today's era with with the technology that we have you need to do something where as you can save this information on your system about the people that you install your equipment in. read more

Got to hand it to J & A for speedy service and very reasonable rates! They programmed 2 keys for less than half the price for 1 key from the dealership. J & A sold me a remote for $60 and they programmed it. $66 and some change after tax. It was an OEM factory 2005 Chevy Cobalt remote. I got there early just after they opened during the week. They took care of me fairly quickly. There were also other customers in front of me. They were being helped by others. The dealer wanted $82.46 before tax for the remote and $72.50 for programming. $154.96 plus tax for the same remote! Thank you J & A you guys do great work. Good prices and excellent customer service. I will be a returning customer if I ever need another remote. read more

They know what they are doing. $45 for a replacement alarm remote. Works well. Good bargain.

The worst customer service! I was referred to this key company by Chicago Car Center who provided me a broken key, they reassured me that J & A would provide me a new key if I provided a waiver. The young lady whom I spoke to today stated that I needed to have someone from Chicago Car Center give them a call in order to assist me or to schedule an appointment. I than asked "even if I provide you guys with a waiver" she replied " or you can walk in with the waiver but we cannot say when the keys will be ready." So I immediately asked if I could send a waiver to their email so I wouldn't have to make double the trips. She replied with attitude "what do you need our email for ?" Maybe she had a long day but being a customer service manager myself I know this is unacceptable and unprofessional! read more
