I declined the crown, and the dentist said she could do a filling instead, so beware of crown offerings. I also had 2 other teeth filled that day. The dentist said she didn't use the silver Amalgam fillings and that the white composite would be a small fee. I paid 107.00 and left happy. For this current visit 8/2026, I had my teeth cleaned and was informed I owed $465.00 in addition to the $107.00 for the 3 white fillings done 6 months prior. Talk about a delay in billing! In my opinion, I was misled regarding the cost of fillings. I also had a simple cavity in which a crown was recommended. Upon complaining to the dental office and the insurance, it was suggested that I make sure the dentist's office submits a preauthorization and cost analysis in writing through the insurance company for everything, even teeth cleanings. Something they should already do for patients who have already informed them not to do anything that isn't covered by insurance!!
