I had gone to Valley Oak Dental for 30+ years. When my new dental insurance was not accepted there, I went to a different practice. I was not happy at all. When I chipped my front tooth Friday, I knew Valley Oak is where I wanted the work done. They got me an appointment for 6:30 a.m. Monday and said we could go over payment options at that time. I've been going here for a couple years now and it's always been a great experience. Friendly staff up front, great hygienists, and Dr. Liz is great too. Special shoutout to the hygienist, Nina, who was so thorough and informative during my cleaning I felt like I was in great hands. Dr. Mohammad Elfarra is amazing!!!! My daughter went to him to get a tooth extracted a few days ago and he and his staff are so amazing with her and she let them get it done. She usually goes to Bethel Kids Dental (which I probably won't take her to anymore or recommend) and the dentist at Bethel will not work with her. If she flinches or makes a noise the dentists and staff give up on her and classify her as being difficult when she is not. She is a normal kid that is nervous for the dentist and they don't know how to work with or comfort kids. Also, because of how they do things at Bethel, Dr. Mohammad has to fix my daughter's teeth that they messed up. Dr. Mohammad and his staff on the other hand are very good with kids. They know how to talk to them and work with them and make them feel comfortable with any procedure no matter how little or how big. I was recommended by my brother who brings our niece there who is Autistic and they are amazing with her that she lets them do anything with her teeth. I will definitely bring my kids back there. They are amazing and the way they handle kids is amazing! Thank you Dr. Mohammad Elfarra and your Staff for your patience and dedication and care for my daughter. So they're getting a 2 star for friendly staff...but unfortunately being nice can only go so far... My son's (5 yrs old) dental experience is now ruined. I've had several appointments to see if there are any improvements, but it's only becoming worse. From the beginning, I could see him being uncomfortable and terrified, despite prepping him beforehand and after with fun dentist videos and practicing what methods they may do (I am an experienced RN with hospital bedside, so I know how to help calm patients). One of his treatments he freaked out during the middle of it (for whatever reason) and they insisted to finish the treatment, which I understand. But my son was very difficult and not cooperative. At the end we had to physically hold him down to finish the last thing. This really broke me, and I regret doing this. He was numb during the procedure so I knew he wasn't in pain. The next appointment (because they only did one side) they suggested the "butterfly suit" or the papoose. Now I should have listened to my gut and refused this, but I trusted that they knew what was best. I have asked about nitrous or any forms of sedation to help him relax, but they pretty much explained to me that it wasn't an option. Well, forcing my son into the straight jacket was horrendous. I won't go into detail as it is very heartbreaking. The staff continued to say, "oh we do it for our own kids...blah blah" and I get that...and they weren't "hurting" him or anything. But it's mentally damaging. I'm telling you, if they offer this for your kid because he has a hard time with cooperating with the procedures, I highly RECOMMEND that you DO NOT do this!!! It wasn't until the next appointment, where I refused the papoose and tried my absolute best to convince my son to stay still that it will be so quick and bribe with all the toys and all...but he couldn't even lay down due to the major ptsd that he now has. I then snapped, and FINALLY they offered oral sedation!!! NOW THEY GAVE ME THE OPTION AFTER RUINING OUR EXPERIENCE. I probably should have been more stern in the beginning with advocating for sedation more...but I trusted that with their experience that they would do what was best. I wish they didn't dance around me asking for sedation for my son. If we had just gotten what I had requested from the beginning...his dental experience wouldn't have turned into a nightmare. Please be mindful, and stick with your gut when it comes to your children. Every visit I hear a child screaming bloody murder and it breaks my heart. I've been to other pediatric dentists and their main goal was to not make dentists visits traumatic for kids. I get that kids are scared, but I'm telling you, this is a different level. read more

I don't trust anyone else with my kids dental maintenance's other than Dr. El Farra (Dr. Liz for myself) Dr. El Farra is such a gentle giant. I love that every time we come to the office he is so good with my girls and explains/educates me on what's going on, also what he suggests we do for them. I can tell he generally cares and loves what he does. For a brief moment due to insurance issues, I did have to take my older daughter elsewhere for the meantime and she always said she loves Dr. El Farra and wished to go back to him etc. (thankfully we're back!) Jessica was my daughters' hygienist for her very first experience. My 3 y/o generally is afraid of new things but she was not ONE BIT! Jessica was great. She was able to get my daughter to follow directions and have the whole appointment run smooth. No crying or fussing at all. Overall great experiences each time we go. This review is 5 years overdue. I started taking my older daughter when we first moved to Manteca and now my 3 y/o is coming here ! read more

The adult dentistry side is for sure amazing. Dr Liz Greco is my primary dentist and she's amazing! Great customer service! The Just for Kids Pediatrics Dentistry is AMAZING! I never knew how difficult it would be wrangling my kids up dealing with them as they get their teeth worked on. Dr Alfara is amazing with both of my little kids ages 3 and 5. They both get anxious with the work but he is great at communicating and gets them to laugh and have a good time! Dental Assistant Jessica is also amazing. She always engages with the kids to make it a fun experience so the kids aren't worried about the work! Major issue with cleanliness. The staff need to change gloves and not touch dirty surfaces then put hands in patients mouth. Drawers, pens, things that fall to ground... change gloves please. I noticed this with multiple staff. This is cause for infection and just needs to be corrected immediately. It's a professional standard in any dental practice. I've been going to this dental office for years, and have had many dentist in that time. All are good, very kind, good at what they do, and interested in me. This particular last visit I had a dental hygienist who initially mispronounced my name made sure call me by my name correctly and informed the dentist of the pronunciation when I failed to correct him. As a person with a unique name I get tired of telling people how to pronounce it especially if I have already told them once before. I really appreciated her response and approach to the situation. Things like that matter. Otherwise the place is clean, they take X-rays, do routine cleanings, standard dental work, and always leave you with a parting goodie bag of toothbrush and paste, two types of floss, and lip balm! They take the insurance from my job and I never have a copay or any other payments. It's easy to schedule an appointment by phone or in person, but they fill up quickly so plan accordingly. read more

I honestly wish I found them earlier. I am pretty picky about who I pick and choose as a dentist because the type of care they provide will dictate the outcome of your dental treatment. From the very short wait, to the nice and welcoming front office staff, to the dental assistant to the dentist himself, I'd say they are outstanding. I had some concerns about expectations, possible treatment options, etc... and they were able to answer all my questions before I came in the day prior. My crown had fallen off and has a history of falling off 2 times from a previous dentist. I decided to come in and see a new dentist because I didn't want the same thing to happen again. After my crown falling off I couldn't get it back on and was afraid I had to get a whole new crown again. But, dentist Khorsand and his assistant Bernice were soooooo awesome and persistent in being able to fit the crown back on so I didn't have to get a new one, and they made sure it was recemented securely. Bernice did wonders on making that happen so I am truly grateful. They are kid friendly as well so I may be switching my children too. read more

My girls come here and it's the best. My oldest is 4 & has been coming here since she was a baby. Every visit gets better and better for my 4 year old in terms of her cooperation & comfort. The faces are always familiar so that's a plus. The care my girls receive is top notch. Everyone in the office is so nice and helpful. We never wait very long for our appointments. I had a treatment with Dr Brar. There was a spill of the chemical over different spots on my face when Mary was doing the fillings. The spill was a near miss from the eye which could have caused me permanent vision loss. I am completely disturbed by what has happened due to the burns caused by the chemical on my face The spill happened while fillings were done, I had asked for a break at that very moment and didn't get one. The spill was merely wiped out and my skin was burning without considering proper first aid. Proper care was not taken before this happened and even after this happened, pure negligence on the assistants' part.Un Would not recommend to anyone. read more

Valley dental is fantastic all around but Dr. El Farra is out of this world. He is my three kid's dentist (2,6,11yrs) and he constantly goes above and beyond to make them comfortable while always giving them thorough care. My 6 year old is especially difficult in a dental setting. She has many intense sensitivity issues around her mouth and taste which makes some unusual genetic dental issues a really difficult time for all involved. As a mom, it's really a nightmare situation. However, what could be a traumatic part of her childhood is merely a blip on the radar because of Dr. El Farra and his wonderful staff of sweet ladies. Dr. El Farra is currently helping us (fingers crossed) avoid early and expensive orthodontics with this same child by bringing us in for frequent check-ins and looking into ALL options for us. Tonight, he even took her impressions home so he could prepare them and get a second opinion on his own time. Support staff has never shamed us for melt downs, always treated her gently, and taken my lead on dealing with her fear. My little girl walks away with a smile after exploring the prize box.
