My wife had bought her computer 2 years ago on an account that she shared with her then boyfriend. He ended up reporting it as stolen so she was locked out of her computer. So if you have any doubt whether or not this service just stop and erase that thought right now. After installing a new SSD drive into my Mac I noticed a boot time firmware password. Where in the F**& did that come from???? I personally work in technology but had to cry Uncle after a few attempts at various DIY fixes that I received from my MAC gurus.
