I'd like to leave a review for the Manager Eric - I was lost trying to find a gift for a friend, she likes Gummy Bears and there were a ton of them!!! He took time out to show me the different types. He also personally helped me at his register, he was also helpful to the other guests as well. Highly recommend this location!!! read more

Really nice candy shop to browse around in. I like their mix-n-match candies for one price, though of course that price is pretty steep. Also their toys and other treats are expensive, but you're paying for the selection, good quality and interesting novelty not found in other stores. As some have mentioned, there are some adult-themed candies and novelties here so if you bring children or are personally offended by such things, be careful. Employees that helped me were friendly and upbeat. Store is brightly lit and almost-offensively colorful. Really fun to stop in to and look around even if you don't plan to buy anything. read more

Parents keep an eye on your children cause you will lose them in all this sugar heaven. Kids keep an eye on your Parents cause they will lose you once they see candies from their past. This place is amazing even for those who do not or no longer eat candy as much (parents are addicted to a different kind of sugar mixed with caffeine). This place has it all even candy that has some...some umm...ahem Mature Adult Humor candy that can be used in Bachelor or Bachelorette Parties. Its funny but lets just say when I was there kids were giggling to their imagination content HAHA. It's a great place and my daughter was so overwhelmed that she walked away with just bag mixture if Jelly Belly's. I should have also walked away with a giant Kit Kat. But I was craving coffee read more

Super cute concept of a store! I didn't try the candy so this is regarding the customer service/items/organization/cleanliness of the store. The cashier was very kind and I loved how everything was organized on the shelves. There were cute plushies and a bunch of candy. However, the prices are a bit steep for some of the items. This is a cute store though if you want an experience. read more

IT'SUGAR - Sanrio items - Candy Stores Near Me - Universal City, California

When we make our trips to Universal Studios my son would ask many times to come here. Since I'm not supportive instilling sugar rushes with my five year old, I would always balk on the idea of setting foot inside. Anyways, I have to admit I like sugar too, especially when you see their store posters outside because they are eye candy. Coming inside the store, it's colorful and you're a kid in the candy store. They have lots of tables of self-serve candy selections, on the walls you'll find candies in bulk packaging. Also on hand jumbo size gummy bears, that I found amusing. Since I like variety, I would do the self-serve and pick out different gummy selections, especially sour, and odd flavor ones like cherry coke, mojito, and strawberry daiquiri. Although they offer lots of fun types of candies, I wasn't all that jazzed about paying half a pound of candy around $8. read more

A certain someone who knows I literally live for pineapple gummy bears and have been deeply disappointed by another local candy shop (let's just put them on blast for the f of it; Lolly & Pops Sherman Oaks) has not had their stock in what seems like forever, gifted me 0.43lb ($6.43) of pineapple gummy bears from It's Sugar. I was told they were already a day old from when they were purchased and these were one of the yummiest things I have ever had in life!!!!! They were so super fresh! I cannot stress just how fresh!!! I said "oh my god" over and over and over again as I devoured every single last one out of the bag in one sitting. I've never been to this store and if it's at city walk there's a very high probability that I will never come here but if you happen to be or if I get super lucky in the future maybe I'll be gifted more of these. This my friends is where you can find the BEST pineapple gummy bears around! 5 STARS for those not sure what else is here but who even cares if they've got my fav candy! read more

Nothing to complain about the candy. The selection is absolutely phenomenal. They have everything from chocolate to sour bears to full boxes of gummy's. This place has every type of candy can think of . A+ for selection The reason for a one star on this candy store is the staff is Super rude. As I walked through the store looking at all the different candy options, I was being followed by two employees. Every little move I made for the candy was wrong. Please don't touch that please don't mix that, please don't eat candy out of your own bag. Message to management work on getting some more kinder people working for your organization those two girls made me feel Super uncomfortable so I put my candy down and left without buying it. I don't think I'll be stepping foot inside of it sugar anytime soon read more

With a name like "IT'SUGAR" you know that you're entering a store that will tempt you in so many ways. This is not your average run-of-the-mill candy store that carries standard size quantities. IT'SUGAR's selection is on a grand scale as they offer much larger boxes of candies. Averaging around $10 per box, you'll find Reese's Pieces, Rice Krispy Treats, or Tootsie Rolls (etc.) that will satisfy the sugar fix of about 5 people in one setting. The store is brightly lit with creative displays within the center of the building. At most stations you'll notice a mannequin wearing a dress, often adorned with candy embellishments or funky patterns. Below each mannequin, placed on a circular table is an assortment of sweets with similar commonalities i.e. chocolate, gummy textures and so on. However given that they are placed in small bin-like containers, you can select the perfect amount at a cheaper price. Just use the scooper to transfer the quantity that you need to a small bag and take them to the cash register to be weighed. Not everyone wants to buy in bulk while sauntering around Universal City Walk! It's more convenient to select an ideal quantity of tasty treats that are reflective of your wants/needs at that time. IT'SUGAR also carries creative items that are "entertaining". If you've ever wanted to don a candy bra or undies, you'll find them here! The small adult themed candy section often makes people chuckle but it's all in the name of fun. Or if you're in the mood for a sucker with a scorpion deep in the center, you'll also find it here. I don't know if the scorpion was real but it seemed authentic when I held it up to the light. Who could turn down some bear kegs, chocolate covered gummy bears, a box that contains only Lucky Charms marshmallows sans the oats, huge gummy worms, and so much more? IT'SUGAR is an amazing store that's worth a gander inside. If you have children under the age of 10 with you, I highly recommend that you supervise them to ensure that they don't stumble upon something that they're not used to seeing or else you'll have a difficult time explaining what they're looking at. You can't go wrong with IT'SUGAR if you're craving something unique or sweet! read more

This is the second candy shop in Citywalk, which is located by Starbucks and Wasabi. This location offers a variety of candy types, brands, themed clothing and accessories to candy or characters, and candy by weight. It's an impressive shop to wander into and it's a must-do for any candy fan. They used to carry large sizes of Hershey's brand candies and I bought the York one as a gag birthday gift for my co-worker, who got a kick out of it. I also found they carried Vosges chocolate, including the sister brand Wild Ophelia. (When the latter did a collaboration with The Hunger Games, I picked up more of the bars to consume that were of various Districts/flavors that I really liked.) Pricing for the candy by weight is a little cheaper than Sparky's, but it's still fairly high. I like that the shop has something for everyone and they seem to carry a bigger assortment than Sparky's or the sections in the park shops. read more

If there was an afterlife for sweet tooth lovers (#1), conceivably it would look something like IT'SUGAR. The reality of the store is that it's a haven for candy afficionados and the like. It's one part candy land, another part art gallery. Who knew one could erect statues with just jellybeans and some (sugary) glue? Whatever the sugary vice, IT'SUGAR is more than likely to have it. One can shop for the usual or supersized version of the candies, along with collectibles for special edition candy, be it a random flavor or commemorative packaging. In the end, it's still touristy and retail, which equates to some asinine pricing. Perhaps my fault is not being more of an enthusiast. I can get Reese's Peanut Butter Cups the size of a hockey puck, jelly beans in all sorts of odd flavors (puke? really!?), and t-shirts declaring my love for gummy bears. Best to keep it down before the hipsters buy it all out. But alas, it is in the hell hole of Universal Studios. Keep your expectations relatively low and this store may prove to be more fun than it may appear. Then again, always read the calorie count and beware of high fructose corn syrup. _______ (#1) You know, after the sugar diabetes spike. read more

Finally walked in here after looking at their obnoxious posters for years. (Which i don't know how they get away with) I watched an obese family of 3 put enough candy to feed a family of 33 in clear bags, all the while in huge font behind them read ironically "sugar calories don't count". Americans being obese isn't new, but the fact this temptation store even exists is likely killing more people than car accidents. I love a good cheat day as much as the next, but normalizing eating this poison on the regular needs to stop. read more

This is a cute and trendy store, but there is a lot to improved upon! A group of us, during the holidays, visited this location for an evening out. I immediately noticed a few things wrong: 1) Absolutely no guest service upon walking in, which would have been awesome! 2) Kids free-handing it into the candy bins, which honestly grossed me out! I think these things really should be addressed. Other than these two items, the store plays great music, vibrant colors, and a trendy style. read more

HOLY SUGAR DIABETIS. WOW, it's the FLAVOR FLAV of candy stores BOOOOOOYYYY! FRANK gives a personal double thumbs up rating if you care or not!!! You can feel the rush of adrenaline as you enter the door of candy land. It's either that or your heightened senses are in overdrive from all the sugar particles in the air. It's Sugar sell's everything you cold ever want for candy lover's of the universe. Focusing on the primary task of buying candy in a store like this is challenging because there's so much sweetness for you to buy it's overwhelming. Frank heads for the gummy bears section because there the best he's ever eaten. Some of my favorite flavors are: Watermelon Pink Grapefruit Mango Cinnamon (New Flavor) FYI what makes these the best is there soft and explode with flavor, a rare trait for gummy bears. Now the negative about IT'S SUGAR is the price per 1/4 pound. Let's face it if you get on the excitement plan and grab a few bags of candy your at $100 in seconds flat. So beware if you have kids roaming around this store. It's no joke, you could be spending your car payment if your not careful. Come to the wonderful land of sugar you won't regret it! read more

Candies galore... candies of all shapes and sizes. It's like Sugar Factory but on a grander scale. IT's SUGAR is located in the heart of Universal Citywalk so you can't miss it. They have everything from a Jelly Belly bar to every gummy treat you can think of to even yard long Twix bars. Yup, YARD LONG. That was crazy. I love Twix but damn. Haha. I scored some sour patch apples and pop rocks. I love both. I never see them anymore so it was not only nostalgic but also fulfilled my sweet tooth craving. The Jelly Belly station is insane. There was every flavor imaginable and some I had never heard of. It was pretty cool. You can definitely fill up a ziploc bag of just various Jelly Belly flavs in no time. Because it's in Citywalk, the store was a zoo full of people, especially youngsters. Disgustingly, I witnessed a kid digging into the chocolate covered pretzel barrel with his BARE hands. WTHeck?! Use the tongs lil man! That's what they're there for. Geez! That was gross.... I didn't see enough staff throughout the sales floor. Maybe other lil kids like the bare-handed bandit would be dissuaded from reaching into the candy tubs like that. Just a thought... It was interesting to see the weird candies like the candied crickets aka crick-ettes. No thanks... IT'S SUGAR is your one stop shop for all your cavity inducing needs. Dentists must detest this place. Check it when your cruising through Citywalk... Use the tongs!! read more

This place has candy everything! Candy canes, candy bras, candy underwear, candy penises- it's quite impressive actually. You walk in and are immediately caught (or overwhelmed) by the abundance of sugary treats everywhere! Pre packaged boxes, self service walls of jelly beans, a corner dedicated to Harry Potter treats. Instantaneously you're converted to a kid in a candy store. So, basically you have options: pre-boxes items or self-service candy. Pick up a bag and start filling it with hoards of sweets. I will say it's a pricey per pound treat but to be expected given its location. The place also offers candy options for the adult persuasion- candied undergarments, penises, etc. So if traveling with little people, be aware. The place was full. Line was long but went fast. Not much help though on the floor. I was in search of gelatin-free or veggie based gelatin gummies and I one really was around to help. read more

It's Sugar is full of Sugary treats everywhere. This place has tons of candy that is oversized, they have funny prank ones, they have their regular everyday over the counter candies, they have tons of international candies from all over the place, they sell candies that you don't see sold in stores anymore also. When you walk in, the kid in you wants to just grab from left and right and purchase all this sugar goodness, but the adult in you refuses to let diabetes and cavities ruin you haha, so you end up just settling for a few things instead of the whole lot. A lot of their international treats are a bit overly priced versus when you grab these same treats at a local Asian market, but it is to be expected as some people that don't shop at international grocery stores won't know to get their goods there versus here. This store is definitely a nice store to browse around and waste some time at. It's nicely shelved and there's tons of intriguing colors that draw you to this store. This place is really busy and there's constantly people going in and out. This is definitely one of the "go to" places when visiting City Walk. read more

Cannndddyyyy! Just a fun store to check out at City Walk, take photos and reminiscent about childhood candies. They don't have all candies! But they do have fun ones and general ones to bag up. However, the fun ones are the gigantic ones or old childhood candies you can't find anywhere else anymore. Of course per lb is pretty pricey here, it is in City Walk! Such a fun candy store. We were there for the longest time, so many candies to choose from. They have a whole section for hard candies, a section for gummies, a section for chocolates, a section for funny, even a section for Donald Trump... many, many different sections. NATHAN AND GAVO MADE OUR NIGHT! I came to It'Sugar at CityWalk to find a chocolate bar that I had years ago and I maintain is the best chocolate bar I've ever had - a milk chocolate bar with potato chip pieces. Not only were they happy (enthused, even) to help me find it even when they were already busy stocking items, but they also told me about their Reese's peanut butter cups WITH POTATO CHIPS! I was excited to even know it existed, but a little disappointed when another worker told us they were all out on the floor and in the back. I went to pay for my chocolate bar and as I was about to walk away, Nathan runs up and hands me THE REESE'S WITH POTATO CHIPS! He literally went and looked for it even after he was told it wasn't in stock and HE ACTUALLY FOUND ONE! I am so thrilled by how sweet Nathan and Gavo were even towards the end of the night. I even saw them get right back to work immediately after helping us. They're obviously really committed to their work and to delivering the best customer service possible. I totally would've understood if they just wanted to get us out and avoid the extra hassle, but they went above and beyond for me and made a great day SO much better! Even after a fun theme park day, THIS experience was the best part of my whole day. I really hope this gets back to their management because this definitely wasn't the first time they performed exceptionally at work, and I'm sure it won't be the last. When I have a horrible sweet tooth this place could get me in trouble! They carry lots of my favorite candies. My kids are just as crazy about sweets as I am and 90 bucks of candy in one visit can get us in trouble lol. It's sugar had lots of varieties of candies from super sized, foreign candies, funny political candies, and plain oldies but goodies candies! The only downside to the candy visit was out of control of the company but I was disturbed to see people putting their hands into the buckets. Parents beware!!! There are alot of inappropriate candies and gifts being sold here so don't let ur kids go in the store with YOU especially if the are still little!!! IF there is SUGAR in it!!! I bet this place has it!!! Alot of fun stuff here that are very trendy! My kids would get sugar high just being in here by he amount of stimuli that is presented by all the candies! From Trolls, ShopKins, Gummy Bears, large boxes of Skittles, and other BRIGHT COLORED SUGARY GOODNESS! The only negative here.... This place will surely speed of the process of having uncontrolled diabetes. There are inappropriate items for children here like the cigarette gums and sexual candies that are spread through out the store... I wish they had a specific spot for those so it isn't easily accessible to the little ones. There are definitely candies that I don't see in the regular stores like gigantic gummy bears! A shelf dedicated to bacon like bacon chocolate and bacon mint! The most adorable looking candy is a box of Sweet Sushi!!! This is definitely a must gift for the sushi fans! If you go in the back, I found an area where there were clearence candy, $1.00 chocolate Trolls Pops! Fun spot! Definitely full of sugar! It's a definitely a fun visit. The store itself was really cute but the workers are terrible. I asked one of the workers how many skittle bags are inside the box since it didn't show and he made me feel dumb as if I couldn't read it. It pissed me off and I wanted to go off on him but I just made sure my child got what he wanted and left. The worker there seemed like he liked having conversations with the coworkers rather than helping a customer. I should've got his name but he was the only African American working there yesterday. Come here for dessert after Hard Rock Cafe. The displays in this store are so well done, it just makes you excited for candy like a kid again. Sure it's a tourist trap with all the novelty items but that's the entire point! It's sugar, it's Hollywood babe. It's like a candy museum, every type of candy and sub-type in between. Looking around with wide-saucer eyes at the variety, all that's running in my mind is the portly, elderly mustached man saying, "DIABEETUS"... yah you know the meme. I found it neat they had different themed sections: imported candy from different countries, sugary treats from Harry Potter (cases of butter beer, but alas no pumpkin juice) and the store's own branded apparel. My friend found gummy candy from Spain that rang up super cheap but I guess it was incorrect, since the sales clerk didn't let him buy another one at that price and hurriedly corrected it. Good job store, you've diabolically created a fun environment to part people from their hard earned cash. They have a giant box of sour belts packaged like a cereal box, need I say more?! I highly recommend stopping by this store if your taking care of children that don't belong to you right before your drop them off at home with a new puppy or kitten. read more

I love this candy store! It's a lot of fun! It's has a lot of gift ideas or things to do with the candy. For example they have giant Gummy Bears, huge size Hot Tamales, Nerds, Mike Ike boxes, giant tootsie pops, big Sugar Daddy pops and more! Those usually run around $20. I like this store because it's creative, it has stuff for all ages. It has candy, clothing and memorabilia from different decades. They have stuff for the kids and stuff for the adults. When I say it has stuff for the adults I mean edible underwear or candy bras. Fun sexual things for couples, that all relates to candy. I always like making a bag of candy before I go into the movie theater. They have tons of different color jelly beans and M & M's. However the one not great thing is the prices are expensive. This is a tourist location so your going to pay those prices. You could easily spend $10-$15 on a bag of candy. read more

I don't know who makes their bulk Candy but it is not good. Specifically the drug with a "chocolate" coating. I tried the milk chocolate malted milk balls and the chocolate covered almonds. Thumbs down for both. Yuck. The malt center wasn't melt in your mouth. It was crispy in an unpleasant way that just didn't dissolve without vigorous chewing. The "chocolate" itself doesn't have that much in common with what I consider to be chocolate in flavor or texture. Somehow they made it yucky while also avoiding it being waxy which is my usual complaint with bad chocolate. The chocolate covered almonds were redeemed by the almonds but again... chocolate was unsatisfying. I got a chunk of white chocolate too. I'm not mad at it, it was melts, chewed nicely and was basically sugar. But they should cash it something else... it wasn't white chocolate. Not the taste at all. I also bought summer jelly bellys (popcorn and also marshmallow) which were fresh and great. I got some sore bags which I grew tired of quickly. Not thier fault I only needed about 10 I bought about 20. Jordan almonds perfect... a few candy corn which were very fresh... I prefer them stale... I can't complain though that the candy was fresh right? Overall.... You'd be better served getting staples of candy at a7-11 than coming here and spending $15 on $6 worth of candy. read more

Part disco, part candy store. I wouldn't exactly come here to buy your normal candy, it is touristy candy. Like the extremely huge gummy bear. Fit for a giant. Or the huge Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. More like a pie. I did like the boom chika boom chika beats going on in the background and the bright colors and shiny objects. The mannequin displays were cool as was the huge Jelly Belly sculpture. And you can buy their T-shirts and other merchandise. Like I said, touristy. I wouldn't trust bulk candy at a spot like this. Everyone and their mothers could reach in with their germy hands. Also it seemed a bit overpriced. The pragmatic side of me said to just buy that bulk candy stuff at Winco. read more

It's just like sweet factory, except bigger. It's just as pricey, if not more. It's the myriad of candy options that you are paying for, that are all accessible to you in one stop shop (and not for the candy, unless you like overpriced candy b/c FYI - about 5 small pieces of gummies ~ $1.05). You get a little nostalgic because you see a lot of candy from your childhood that are hard to find. And then before you know it you start to contemplate some deep & legit thoughts like...what WOULD happen if someone got hand loose with the M&M bins, pulled the open sesame (in this case, open candy) lever and made a million M&Ms rain? Although half-tempted to pour some sugar and ogle like Homer Simpson in delight, I walked away. read more

I heart this place for a few reasons. I also like this chain since they have some really good candy at their UK locations that I can't get here but that is besides the point. So here is my list of pros and cons. Pros: - Big selection: They have a ton of different kinds of candy in bulk and in packages. Anything from gummy bears, to chocolate, and the M&M dispensers. - Fun: There is a lot to look at in here. There is a massive Jelly Belly Marilyn Monroe at the front of the store. - Staff: Their staff is really nice - It is a candy store!!! Cons: - They are expensive for their bulk. I spent $20 on sour candy which really isn't that much different than if I were to go to Sweet Factory. - Crowded: This is a tourist place because of Citywalk. There are tons of people and all pushy So if I ever need a 5lb gummy bear, 2 lb peanut butter cup, or a sheet of Rice Krispies treats then I'm coming here. read more
