If you're looking for Swedish candy, **Sockerbit is the place to go!** This was our second visit, and it looks like they've done a slight remodel since the last time we were there, but they still have an amazing selection. The highlight is the huge wall of bins filled with all kinds of Swedish candy. You grab a bag, fill it yourself with whatever you want, and then take it to the counter where they weigh your bag and charge you based on the weight. There are so many options that it can be hard to decide what to get! I really wish they would open a location in North County San Diego. Until then, whenever we're in Los Angeles, Sockerbit is definitely one of our stops. The selection was a bit limited during my visit, and I was especially looking forward to trying the Strawberry Bubs, but unfortunately they were out of stock. That said, the service was great. The staff even let you weigh your bag while you were scooping so you could keep track of the price, which I really appreciated. Finally came here after seeing all the hype on social media. The candies are a hit or miss, but I still enjoyed grabbing a bunch and trying different ones. You get a scoop and a bag, pick whatever candies you want, and they weigh it at the end. One thing I didn't love is that one drawer lid covers a whole row of candies. I wish each bin had its own lid so you're not interfering with other customers while scooping. I have been coming here since before pandemic as I was a WeHo local. Unfortunately, over the years quality has gone down quite a bit. I started coming here because of the unique candy brands and of course the Bubs. They use to have 5-6 different bub flavors and shapes. You were also able to walk all the way into the store before and then in pandemic that changed a bit and they blocked off half the store for online orders. It was fine at the time but they company just became "sellouts". I'm sure that they are doing very well online however their loyal, local customers were given the short stick. It does not feel like the family friendly vibe when I first started coming here 5ish/6 years ago. I used to go out of my way to come here and now I don't even bother. I just go to another shop around 20 minutes away in Burbank. Definitely too bad as I had a gift card but oh well. Overall, 2/5 stars. read more

I have been going here since it opened but ever since they renovated they seems to have weird candy that seems low quality and taste and just not as it used to be. Only street parking, which can be difficult; however, it's super close to the Grove, so if you were already at the Grove, you can walk over within 5 min! Not too busy at all. The staff showed us how to grab candy with clean scoops. Every pound is 17.99, which sounds expensive but if you're getting a mindful amount, it's not too pricey. Friend and I's were about $11.50 and $13.50 for a good amount of candy that will last us days. Some candies tasted good, others not so much. The marshmallows were not to our taste, but we loved the Cola sour gummies. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area for some yummy specialty candy! read more

There are a variety of options to choose from, however, if you're looking to grab the viral Bubz Candy, they are solely separately in their own pre scooped baggies. My friend did pick one up and we got to try them. I think my bag was around $11 for the weight I scooped. They have so many fun different shapes and samples if you're into black licorice (not a fan, personally). I had a great time for such a small little candy shop. Great candy store! The entire store was very clean, including a dirty and clean candy scooper. The cashier kindly explained how much a pound was (17.99/pound) and the simple directions. The candy has a cover on top of each row. I would have liked individual candy covers, but it is still really clean to even have a cover. Candy itself was very fresh and super delicious. That being said, staff was super friendly and was able to even get some of our selections from the back. Once you enter, grab a paper bag and start filling it with all the candy you want. It is self-scoop / serve and don't be shy if you need another bag since the candies can get pretty heavy. Once you're done, they ring you up and they charge by the pound. Before Sockerbit became TikTok famous, the staff were really kind and even allowed my service dog inside while I purchased candy. I used to visit all the time with my dogs, but recently, they started refusing entry if I had my small dogs with me (one is 5lbs and the other is 10lbs). They insisted I leave them outside, which I complied with, but it was disappointing. Additionally, every time I return without my dogs, the store seems to be sold out of a lot of items. It's also concerning that the candy lids are left open, and people talk over the exposed candy--it feels unsanitary. The last time I called to ask if they had bon bons in stock, the person on the phone didn't know what I was talking about and hung up. When I visited in person, they immediately knew what I meant, which left me confused since I thought "bon bons" was the correct name. It's disappointing how things have changed since the store became so popular. I really loved this candy spot, but it's definitely not the same experience anymore. read more

Located near The Grove in LA and next to Wanderlust, Sockerbit is a quaint candy store that has a plethora of candy options. It wasn't too busy when we've gone, but sometimes they are sold out of specific options. Service was neutral, nothing that stood out good or bad. I personally am not the biggest fan of sour candy, but I was impressed with the wide selection that they had, and my wife loved trying out different options. In particular, she liked the super sour S coins, the skulls, and pacifiers. They have different flavors like watermelon, lemon, lime, and strawberry that stood out to me, but I also saw bubblegum, cola, and other candies that weren't sour or gummies. Sockerbit is a great place to visit for your sour candy kick and would make a great gift for friends who love sour candy. Stopped by during a day trip to LA from San Diego and had a great experience! The candy was 100/10 and definitely lived up to the hype. I appreciate that they are vegan and gelatin-free, and I think that helps the candy be so unique. One thing to note is they ship from their location so you will see candies in store that are not available for in-store purchase because they are being shipped. I've been wanting to try this place for a few years now. Finally got a chance this weekend. The parking was not easy so we parked across the street in the Whole foods/CVS lot. We did buy a drink at WF then walked to Sockerbit. It is a small shop and it was pretty packed. Upon entering you grab a bag and scoop. You help yourself to the many varieties of Swedish candy & chocolates. I tried several types hoping they would be good. I also hoped it wouldn't cost too much since they weigh your bag, that usually means you get a little bit but pay a lot! Of course the day I went they didn't even have the BUBS which I was dying to try. I went up to pay and the machine wouldn't take my card and the young lady said you had to insert it a total of three times for it to work, not sure why. Nevertheless it didn't work but my total was $8.10 and I happened to have the exact change. She said that was good because I guess they don't make change. I don't know why, it was odd. I asked if they were out of the BUBS and she said yes but they had them in prepackaged bags but I said no thanks. I paid and got out of there it was too crowded for me. I know people rave about Swedish candy but I really don't get it. The candy was all very hard and the marshmallow types were hard to chew, not sure if that's how it's suppose to be. I was not impressed. I'm finding more and more that people rave about places then I go and it's not good. HaHa maybe I'm just too picky. Seriously though I love sweet and sour candy and gummies and this candy was not very good. I'd rather pay $1.25 (well now $1.50) at Dollar Tree for some Trolli or Sour Patch kids! My daughter has seen Sockerbit and been wanting to swing by so since we were in the area we decided to make the trip. When you first walk in it looks like a smaller candy store but once you walk past the register the room opens up and there is even more candy. I didn't see prices and I didn't ask but we bought a grab back of goodies and some Bailey's Marzapan and my total was around $24. It was well worth it though to see the excitement of Bailey finally being able to try the famous candies. It was a Saturday, early event and it was quite packed. Tasty candies and employee was nice enough when we nade our our. The store was nice, clean and had places clearly marked to pick up clean scoops and drop off used ones.
