I've been wanting to visit Edwlweiss Chocolates because I'm a huge I Love Lucy fan and the chocolate episode was inspired by this chocolate shop. I was happy when I finally got to visit. She told us they used to do tours of the conveyor belt prior to Covid. I do wish I could have seen it. We got an assortment of chocolates, which are sold by the pound. It is a little pricey, I won't lie. However, the quality of the chocolate was great. They have a large variety of chocolates that they make and they were all super tasty. It was a nice little treat. They also have a small selection of candies, licorices, jelly beans, and organic gummy bears. Sugar free and vegan options available. Few! Edelweiss is one. I am a chocolate connoisseuse and have sampled the best in New York, San Francisco, Paris, and Brussels as well as many of the top confectionaries in Los Angeles. None of them present the wow factor that Edelweiss does, while offering exquisite handmade candy. Not since Manon (Leonidas) have I been as impressed with a purveyor of refined chocolate, even though I love (and have reviewed here), several others with deserved sterling reputations. One reason is the presentation. Look at my pictures -- who would not want to arrive somewhere bearing a gift like that! Whenever I want to treat someone really well, show them I care, while expressing my own aesthetic, I head to Edelweiss. It's worth it. Best chocolate and sour skulls I've ever had. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny. Plus, no artificial flavors or dyes.

I have to start off by saying that I've been coming to Edelweiss since I was a little girl. My grandparents lived right around the corner and would take me there to buy the famous handcrafted chocolates made by experienced chocolatiers and I still remember the smell being wonderful. Fast-forward to 2025 and I am still nostalgic every time I walk in. Service is always friendly and, of, course, I end up spending a fortune (well worth it) because I have no self-control. To honor my nana, I always get the chocolate covered marshmallow assortment because who doesn't love a good S'More, Toffee, or Caramel marshmallow? I also cannot leave without buying the Chocolate Honeycomb Sponge. My dad used to love the dark chocolate honeycomb and I may or may not have swiped a piece or two from him when I was just a little girl! The addiction is real. I have to buy some honeycomb every time I'm here. The chocolates are good but absolutely don't make up for the horrible customer service. Order tracking is non existent, customer service line goes to voicemail and calls go unreturned. Emails are not answered and when you call the actual stores they offer no help other than to say, "oh, lots of people are complaining". That famous physical comedy scene from I Love Lucy with the conveyor belt of chocolates was filmed here. It's insane that something so iconic was shot right in our city off Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I'm so happy to report that their goods are legit! I am so incredibly picky with my chocolates but they are so rich, indulgent and just downright delicious. My personal favorite of their options is the peanut butter crisp. OMG! I'm dead! Happiness overload with that rotund bit of sugary joy. The chocolate covered oreo is also money. Let me be transparent and let y'all know there wasn't a single bite I didn't enjoy. Was gifted a box of delicious chocolates and a bag of dark chocolate covered pretzels. It's amazing that the chocolate's still hand made. I love the Edelweiss' connection to Hollywood legends and the hilarious "I Love Lucy"conveyor belt episode. The chocolate is high quality and smoothly rich but expensive. A box of 13 pieces is about $38. I really enjoyed the chocolates with raspberry and strawberry. My humble bank account brings me to See's (which is a better value) but if you want to impress, get Edelweiss. I give Edelweiss an extra star for the booklet identifying each type of chocolate and since upon request they will let you see where Lucille Ball created a comedy classic. read more

I was in Beverly Hills not because "that's where I want to be," but because I had to grab something from a business for a virtual event happening the next day. Gimme gimme, gimme gimme! I decided to knock off two Yelp bookmarks since I was already in the area, and one happened to be Edelweiss Chocolates. I had originally seen Edelweiss advertised in some Facebook or Instagram video, but I had completely forgotten that on the day I visited. I had no idea what I was in for, or that I most definitely could not leave the shop without at least one gourmet marshmallow. You can almost smell the chocolate through your mask outside as you approach this finely decorated chocolate shop. Once inside, there is chocolate everywhere you look. They've been around for over 75 years and everything is made from scratch and in-house. You can tell by looking at the chocolates, as they don't look mass-produced, but they also don't look like your mom just found her old chocolate fountain. One of the newer employees welcomed me and gave me a run down of their most popular items, since I had no idea what to buy. I ended up getting some of their most popular items, in both milk and dark chocolate. After carefully selecting the "best" looking chocolates (they all looked amazing), the employee carefully wrapped up my box and put it in one of their lovely red bags with gold trim, and included one of the foldable descriptions naming each of their chocolates. It almost looked too lovely to tear into later, but I didn't let that stop me. Even though I'm not a fan of marshmallow, their rose marshmallow was pretty good with dark chocolate. My favorite chocolates were the honeycomb dips, though. Chocolate covered honeycomb is food of the gods. The chocolate was so rich and smooth, and tasted unlike any I've tried before. If I ever find myself in Beverly Hills again, I would definitely come back to try some of their other items. These also make for great gifts. read more

A few years ago I was in the good graces of a salesperson at a local store, and was on her list to receive a Valentine's Day surprise. She sent me a box of Edelweiss Chocolates, and I literally ate the entire box without sharing it. They were that good! Well, I never forgot the red box. In classic Hollywood, you've made it if you receive a box of chocolates from Your Edelweiss. This shop is small, organized and packed with wonderful chocolate varieties. There were plenty to chose from for yourself or for gifting. Passover, Easter and all Holidays there were many gift baskets and boxed goodies that were so beautiful. I'm fairly certain you were let down when you private messaged me and couldn't get me back in for your free tour to try and change my account of the ridiculous experience but your bitter un true reply is ludicrous. Your video footage would show us on one side of the counter and your staff member on another, and hear our excitement and convo about being first timers and seeing you on YouTube in addition to hearing my questions of products and her ridiculous demeanor with me. You'd hear my continual grace through being treated the way I was by her. No one said the staff member jumped over a counter and knocked me over the head with a candy bar for crying out loud, lol what would you have expected any video footage to have shown?! You'd been better off publicly apologizing for someone's attitude than falsely accusing me of being a dishonest individual in attempt to discredit my honest account of your team members behavior to me. My boyfriend and I happened upon something on Youtube the evening before that highlighted several places in the LA area. Both So Cal natives, neither of us had heard of Edelweiss but then again we aren't typically strolling Canon for chocolate shops. The place looked so cute and Mother's Day was the next day. We woke up, had an early morning sesh at the driving range then I reminded him he said we could come here to pick up chocolates. I think we were both pretty excited. I know I was for sure. We parked the car and walked in, to an empty shop. I was delighted and couldn't wait to scoop up so many goodies for myself, my Mom and my grandma and my boyfriend was also making a purchase for himself, and his Mom and family. So we were definitely here to spend a bit of money on chocolate. The woman working was an absolute terror! She is the rudest person I have encountered in years. We let her know it was our first time here and were excited to be in the shop. To every question I asked she had a nasty, ridiculous tone, demeanor and answer. You'd think we walked into the store with a million people waiting in line. The place was empty and there are just no words for her terrible, completely unacceptable behavior and vibe. It's a wonder, a literal wonder that I didn't say anything about how she was behaving but honestly I was in complete disbelief, like is this actually happening right now. We should have walked right out the door, but we did want to try the chocolate and still ended up ordering a ton of stuff. We left and I was visibly upset by all of it. My boyfriend asked me a few times on the drive home if I was ok. I was just shocked someone could be so nasty and it definitely ruined a bit of my Mother's Day. I ended up telling everyone that day about the occurrence. I'm not certain it's safe to recommend this place, even if the chocolate taste ok because the service was down right despicable. I gifted many of the chocolates and will follow up with how the recipients felt about them, but I've been to several chocolate shops in my time and these are the types of places that are usually joyful, and fun. My experience here was so horrible, all I can say is the packaging is quite lovely (although this woman didn't even want to prepare my purchase as others are prepared, I had to specifically ask to even have one piece of tissue paper). The treatment was just unbelievable and difficult to endure. I wish this lady peace in life, she sure as hell needs it. I have been meaning to visit this chocolate shop for a bit now. Curiosity I took the better of my account out that this is the chocolate job that the I love Lucy episode was based off of. My visit could not have been more pleasant. The shop owner and operator is wonderful and very friendly. They have a very wide variety of chocolates and everything looks so delicious. Madonnas favorite chocolate marshmallow had to be my favorite as well. Girls got good taste! A box of four to five pieces will run you around $20 but trust me when I say it's worth it. After an "eventful" day at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, my "partner-in-crime" treated me to...what else? A trip to the candy store! A small but elegant boutique, Edelweiss has been making their delicious premium handmade chocolates in their Beverly Hills factory since 1942. Edelweiss is a long-time favorite of many celebrity clients, & for good reason: You can literally taste the fresh quality ingredients, & their chocolates, marshmallows, & confections are made from scratch with love. We had the opportunity to meet the very kind owner (& his wife), & they were so gracious to give us a private tour of the entire boutique & facility. They even showed us the famous conveyor belt where the late Lucille Ball got the idea for the now famous "I Love Lucy" sitcom candy-making episode. I cannot say enough how much this visit brightened my day. Not only are the owners very kind, but their treats are exceptionally delicious! I'm on the fence about how I feel about the price versus quality proportion. While the chocolate is good quality, the store is almost unjustifiably expensive. You pay by weight which ends up at about $20 for 6 chocolates. Seems pretty steep considering that's like $3.33 for a 1.5" square of candy. Found the staff to be unfriendly to the point where I considered leaving without buying anything. They were rushing me even though there was literally nobody else in there and it wasn't like I am right before closing either. read more
