The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was wonderful. The food was just ok. We started with the hummus that came with pita chips as opposed to fresh pita bread. The hummus itself was bland and a rough texture . It lacked seasoning in particular garlic. The chicken souvlaki was grilled nicely with a good flavor and was served with yogurt, tomatoes and red onion and pita triangles. The spanakopita was mostly spinach and lacked feta cheese. They use the thicker filo dough so you miss those layers of flaky goodness. The food was not worth the price. read more

I came and dined by myself for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. The section of tables that I was in were rather close together, so I felt like I was sitting in on other's conversations. I ended up popping in popping in headphones. My daughter has external stimuli issues, and they seated us in a area away from the fray if the room, but did not feel completely separate. Absolutely loved dining here for some appetizers before dinner, in fact it was so delicious that I really wanted to stay for dinner too! For one thing, it felt so homey inside, like a spot frequently visited by the locals, and the staff seemed to know many of their dining guests. If I lived in this area, I know I'd become one of those regulars! It was really difficult to choose from the mezze menu what to get but went off the recommendation for the grilled octopus and the eggplant and feta dish. Both of these were excellent starters! The octopus was grilled and seasoned perfectly, each bite exploding with flavor, accompanied by Fava bean mash (super unique) and a bed of arugula with drizzled olive oil. The eggplant with feta dish had a nice balance to it and the flavors complimented each other, rather than feeling too dessert-like which cheese appetizers tend to feel like for me. They also offer bread to accompany the meal with a delicious dipping sauce. I'll certainly be coming back this way to check out all the other options on their menu! read more

The first thing I noticed upon walking in was the beautiful artwork and decor. The place was packed on a Friday night, but thankfully, my friend made a reservation. We went with avgolemono soup, falafel, hummus and lamb, stuffed grape leaves, and spanakopita. Dessert was the Galaktoboureko. Everything was absolutely delicious, the presentation was stunning, and the service was excellent. Even the complementary bread and dip was next level. I will definitely be back many more times. Nice decor. Went on a Saturday afternoon for breakfast. Unfortunately we were running short on time after waiting for nearly 45 minutes for our order and wasn't able to try the food. So disappointed in my recent dinner. Started with the octopus appetizer which was outstanding. The dinner of rack of lamb was horrendous. I ordered rare and two times came out medium to well. The third time was a bleak medium rare which they did not charge me for but I refused anyway. So disappointed. Two days later my office orders lunch to go. Again, big disappointment. My $17 grapes leaves were 5 small, and I mean small, finger sized grape leaves swimming in a salty sauce. Never again. The Greek salad was not eventful. We get better at a sun shop. The decor is very contemporary. The service was the best I have had in a while. Our waitress was top notch! The apps were good. Here is where I had an issue. Ordered the lamb shank. I get the feeling this was reheated or something. The lamb shank had no signs of braising liquid on it at all. I did not taste any sauce/liquid either. The lamb was tender though. Then I get to the tomato orzo. It was mush. Orzo should be al dente and this orzo either was reheated after sitting in the sauce which mushed out the orzo or the orzo was over cooked. I only went for a small dinner and sat at the bar. The spreads were delicious and I had to try the 3 different sampler plate. The calamari tasted fresh and not rubbery like most places. An experience to be had. About an hour south from Dover NH, but the food is worth the drive. We had Tsasiki (sp?) meh not great, but the lamb shank and spanikopita were to die for. This place is busy so the word is definitely out and it isn't cheap. 4 of us and the bill was $300 including tip. Outstanding service and authentic Greek food. I have eaten Ithaki catered food many times and have found it be excellent. Today, I ate at the restaurant in person for the first time. I went for lunch. I found the food underwhelming, and not at all authentic Greek. I was so disappointed that I do not see myself returning for lunch. Ithaki offers very good food - unexceptional overall but good enough. We had a very good meal there. However, it was not an OUTSTANDING meal as someone had told me, and at these (higher) prices the food should be better than it was. Everything is at a consistent level of "very good." But I had been told to be expect better, and we didn't get that. The lamb shank, a classic Greek dish if ever there was one, was fine but not exceptional. The meat was just slightly overcooked (even being braised), but the tomato sauce was indistinct. I've had much better versions of this same dish from a close Greek friend and at the late great John's Bar & Grill in Beverly (which was EXCEPTIONAL food priced at a bargain, but alas it is now gone). No one eating this dish for a first time would think it was bad. But it was not as good as it gets. The dolmades were fine - unexceptional but good enough. The hummus was fine but again not exceptional. My companion's moussaka was reasonably good, but she did not finish it and said she didn't need to, and didn't want to take the rest home. Very disappointed last visit . Spinach pie was not what I have ever had before, it was in a hard shell unlike dough that I'm accustomed to. For 17 dollars. And the lunch menu was limited.
