Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie
Hailey C.

I absolutely love Boba Time and have gone multiple times at a different location. However, I've visited this location three times now and every single time they make my drink with no flavor. I've brought this up to the employees before ordering before, but they just say that they'll add more sweetness. Despite this, every single time I get the drink, it still tased like water. I usually get the strawberry yogurt smoothie and normally absolutely love this drink. For some reason this place will not make this specific drink well. I can't speak to other orders. Just wanted to let you know that this specific drink I have been constantly having issues with.

It's Boba Time is located on a busy and popular corner in East Pasadena at Colorado and Allen. This is a chain. They offer lots of menu options. It is designed mostly for take out orders, and includes a kiosk for ordering. There is limited seating. Lots of PCC students and employees from nearby businesses frequent this location. I prefer their smoothies, especially with boba added. Slushies are available as well. I recently had the taro smoothie and it was very good. It's very efficient and clean but not particularly personal, as to be expected with a chain establishment.

There's nothing better than something cold on a hot day--and boba is the ultimate treat! I clearly wasn't the only one with that idea, because when we stepped into It's Boba Time, the place was buzzing with happy customers sipping on their cold drinks. This was my first visit, and it was such a treat! I ordered the matcha and red bean drink--a winning flavor combo that was both refreshing and satisfying. I've tried quite a few boba spots in the area, and this one really hit the spot. I'll definitely be back for more!

Love this place! I'm here weekly, they make amazing açaí bowl. They really fill them up with a massive amount of fruit and decorate them beautifully. All of the workers are kind and friendly and are sure to make your order correctly. They do offer dairy substitutes and can customize most drinks. I have enjoyed all that I've tried. They keep the tables clean, you can order from the app or a kiosk inside or at the front desk! Make sure to sign up to get points off your next order!

I wanted to share my experience from today. My Apple Pay wasn't working at the self-checkout, and I was clearly struggling with the machine. Several employees were standing nearby, but none of them offered to help. It was another customer--a fellow mom--who stepped in and helped me. The lack of assistance from the staff was really disappointing, and it honestly made me want to walk out. I hope this can be addressed so other customers don't have the same experience.

I was walking towards Odyssey Games and happened to look to my right. I saw It's Boba Time. I said cool... I'll have to check them out later. I came back in late evening. My first time here at this location in Pasadena. It's a corner shop. It has a very bright and inviting atmosphere. They have one kiosk for self-ordering and a couple registers at the counter. I chose to use the kiosk and it was easy to order. I got the Avocado Smoothie with 100% boba... they have an option for 50% boba as well. There weren't very many customers when I was in here. It was near closing time actually. Luckily, the wait for my drink wasn't too long. I didn't have much interaction with the staff as they just called my number, placed my drink on the counter, and walked away. I walked up to the counter, grabbed my drink, and was on my way. Avocado Smoothie had a very smooth consistency. I could taste the yummy avocado, but wished there were more of it. Boba was moist and chewy. Next time I might just omit the boba so I can have more avocado smoothie LOL. Good to know they are here so the next time I visit Odyssey Games, I will be back for more avocado smoothie. =)

Tiger sugar black tea latte (already drank some sorry)

Had some time during lunch to get my car serviced nearby and didn't want to just wait around so I walked around the area and saw this boba place. I've been to other It's Boba Time, this one is not as small and very spacious with table seating. They have a tablet kiosk to order and it was very easy. I ordered a regular tiger sugar black tea latte to wake up my day. Half sugar, easy ice with boba (comes with drink and isn't extra). The ordering on the tablet is very easy and helps you through the many options! Their AC was blasted because it was very cold inside! They have one unisex restroom that is coded, just ask a staff for the code.

Moldy Chocó crepe

I was super excited to try their choco crepe after I got off work. I bought, didn't think to check it when I was in the store because i expected them to be aware of the quality of their food. Got home & went to open my choco crepe to eat. And it's moldy. I'm highly disappointed especially because I paid $7 for it almost. I definitely will not be returning even though I like drinks.

Thai Tea and Peach Strawberry Fruit Tea

My drink (not including toppings) was prepared well but lacked flavor. I don't know if the person that took my order was supposed to ask how sweet I'd like my drink or not but I felt like the sweetner level had been significantly reduced. I asked for the star boba and the lychee jelly but I only received one. I'm not sure what happened. My other half ordered a Thai tea without boba. Oh dear. He got boba in his drink and the Thai tea wasn't steeped well. It tasted burnt almost. Hmm, I'm not sure what happened or what was going on but everything about that visit was off.

The boba is good but the thai iced tea isn't nearly as delicious as tea spots. I'm definitely going to stay loyal to tea spots

Most of the decor here seems lost in translation from this import from Taiwan; however, they are a drink spot that specializes in boba milk teas and fruit smoothies. I got a strawberry smoothie with jellies and a salt cream foam. My wife got the same, but mango. Both of the drinks were upwards of $8. Though expensive, flavor was good and, if you like jellies, they load them up here. I noticed on one of the signs that they offer a 10% discount if you use an official sold MACU reusable cup and a 2% discount if you use any other reusable cup, or MACU's plastic cup from a previous visit. All of the workers were busy making drinks, so I ordered on the one kiosk they had. The shop is small and it didn't take long for them to make my drinks. My favorite drink was the Chi-Chi Mango Smoothie. It was sweet, smooth, and had mango chunks and green tea jelly. Their #1 drink - King of Mango Smoothie had grapefruit pulp, which was bitter. All of their drinks were pretty sweet. The Chi-Chi Jasmine Green Tea had a cheese foam top and tasted the least sweet of the three drinks I ordered to share.

If you love boba specifically, you may be underwhelmed but if you love floral milk teas, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The difference may be subtle or lost on some, but it may perfectly speak to others. The star of the show is their premium Jasmine milk tea. It's the pertect cup of light, floral, milky tea. The flavors are mild and aromatic, making it easy to drink. It has a mix of traditional flavors with a new twist. The interior is modern and clean. The staff is moving fast and with a purpose; you shouldn't be waiting long for your drinks. Overall, there is a lot of competition for bubble tea and Molly Tea will serve a specific niche (those who love light, floral teas) but they may not make everyone's top picks and that's ok.

The atmosphere was girly, clean, and bright. We ordered through a kiosk. I got the premium jasmine milk tea and my boyfriend got the Tongmu Lapsang Milk tea. The Jasmine Milk tea did indeed have a strong tea flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Tongmu Lapsang was too sweet for my liking, and the tea flavor was overpowered by the brown sugar. The boba had a really strong brown sugar flavor, which threw me off. It was too sweet and overwhelming in the milk tea, so next time I'd probably enjoy without the boba. The texture was perfectly chewy, though! Service was quick and and efficient. We had no issues with our drinks and it helped that there was a TV screen to follow the progress of your order. Hopefully, a location will open up in OC!

The ambiance wasn't quite what I was looking for. I had hoped to find a welcoming spot where my friend and I could enjoy our drinks and spend some time together, but the atmosphere didn't particularly stand out to me. I ordered the Fresh Avocado Bliss for over $8. It took a while to prepare, so I was hoping the drink would be worth the wait. Unfortunately, I found the flavor disappointing. The avocado didn't taste as fresh as I expected, and I could barely taste the mango. The overall flavor wasn't enjoyable for me. I don't mind paying more when the quality justifies the price. In this case, though, the drink didn't meet my expectations for its price point. A more balanced flavor and a fresher-tasting avocado base would have made a difference in my experience. I appreciate the effort that goes into running a business, and I hope this feedback is helpful. Unfortunately, the drink and atmosphere weren't a good fit for me, so I'm hesitant to return. Based on my experience, I'd personally skip the Fresh Avocado Bliss, though others may enjoy it more than I did.

I live nearby and finally decided to pop in after hearing about this place so many times…read more The decor was minimalistic and tasteful. It's a long, narrow shop so seating may be limited if you have a larger party, but the ambience was very pleasant and nice. Menu is stacked with the names of different types of teas but offers zero description on any of them, so you have no choice but to ask the barista to describe the flavor profile of the teas you're interested in. The barista seemed a bit tired of explaining the tea flavors on the menu, and I honestly don't blame them at all. I'd be annoyed if I had to recite and explain the same large menu over and over again to countless customers throughout the day, when it could've just been written on the menu. If mgmt is reading this - you should fix the menu to make it easier for workers (and customers). This could also help move your line faster, which I've often heard complaints about. I ordered the Koan-Im milk tea, unsweetened, without toppings. I usually like my teas and coffees dark and less sweet, no toppings - especially when I'm trying a new tea shop so I can taste the quality of the tea first, and see whether they get their milk to tea ratios right. The Koan-Im oolong was described to me as a dark roasted oolong so it sounded like it would fit my preference. Unfortunately I barely tasted any tea in it at all, and the drink was mostly just milk. I'm not even sure it was fully milk, since I tasted hints of non-dairy creamer (I should've asked the barista about this before ordering but I didn't want torment her any further after she just rapped an entire menu to me, so I made a hasty choice here). Unfortunately I had to bring the drink home and add more tea to fix the milky flavor. My honest thoughts - I should've ordered a plain tea drink rather than milk tea, so I could at least taste the quality of the tea. I don't think this place makes milk teas that I would like. They're likely one of those tea shops that are popular for their sugary milk tea drinks that lean heavier on the milk and toppings instead. I'm sure their tapioca mochi is lovely, as is their popular "popcorn milk tea" but if you're a person who prefers darker tea drinks with less of the fuss and frills like I do, this place isn't for you.
