If your reading this you're probably debating if you should give Isushi a try and you're paning through reviews to decide. Go, don't wait, bring your friends/family because this is hands down the best sushi around in this area. Try the Vegas rolls or the lobster rolls or my personal favorite, the shrimp katsu roll. Honestly, if I was just rating this for the sushi, it would be 4-star. The sushi was excellent. I had: -"Golden Boy" roll - strange name, but delicious concoction of scallop, avocado, and some other stuff, with a spicy yellow sauce. -"Seattle Roll" - good, but nothing special -assorted nigiri - salmon, spanish mackerel, scallop - all very, very good The miso soup was also tasty. I also got a salad, because it seemed like it would be refreshing. It was large and very expensive - $5.75 for lettuce, tomato, avocado, cucumber and sprouts in a sesame dressing. Good, but not for that price. Why the 2-star review? It was the cooked food. My dining companion ordered 2 salmon kama, and it was a disaster. But it wasn't just that it was bad, it was that the chef wasn't honest with her about it. He should have just said that they were out of it. Instead, first he claimed that he made a hamachi collar by mistake, did she still want the 2 salmon kama? She said yes. But I decided to try the "mistake" hamachi collar. It clearly was not just made, and had been sitting around for a while and heated up. The salmon kama, on the other hand, took about 30 minutes. We are used to waiting a while for salmon kama orders, as it seems like they take a while to make no matter where you go. But this dish was NOT in any way, shape or form like any salmon collar we have ever had. It was fried in a batter and served in a bowl, falling apart, over cooked and covered with some kind of sauce. It was, as my friend said, awful. The chef then explained that he had not had any fresh salmon collars, and so had taken them out of the freezer. The only way (he said) to get them heated up quickly was to fry them. But if she wanted to wait another 20 minutes, he could try cooking another previously frozen one a different way. No, she certainly did not want to wait. It felt very "fishy". (no pun intended!) I feel that if a restaurant does not have fresh fish, they should be honest about it, and not try to pawn off an item of lower quality on an unsuspecting customer. For this reason, we will never go back there, and I feel like it is too bad, because they are close to home, and I did really enjoy the sushi. But there are plenty of other great sushi places where you don't feel like you are being deceived. read more

So we seen this place since it opened and wanted to try it, let's just say the something's should be left a pipe dream. The service stunk, I mean the waitress was nice at first and very attentive, but as our 15 minute experience went on she had a bit of an attitude. We order two sushi dishes and we got two small six piece rolls, the avocado roll was alright, but Fred Myers is better and cheaper, the other vegi roll was bland, but the extra salty soy daisy did the trick ... actually it was gross. We got out veggie tempura and it was no flavor and soggy we sent it back and wanted to just leave at that point. The waitress took the plates and with out warning almost slammed the dishes down and went to the cash register to bill us for the wonderful gastric adventure ... never again, not recommended for vegan or vegetarians. read more

Great to have iSushi in Renton. We were frequent visitors of iSushi in Issaquah, but now that they are Renton it's even better since we live so close. We usually order rolls to go since we are always on the run, but the times we eat in we always have a great experience. Full disclosure: I am no sushi connoisseur. That being said, I eat more than California rolls! I really like this place. My husband and I had never been to a conveyor belt restaurant before but we truly enjoyed the experience. We were like kids in a candy store! I loved trying to identify all the stuff that went by on the belt and putting it in my mouth! Everything we had was fresh and delicious, not to mention aesthetically pleasing. My adult daughter and I have enjoyed I sushi the several times we've been there. Until yesterday, 4/21/17, we took the pot stickers, dumplings, and egg rolls off the conveyor belt. They were all cold. When we asked our waitress about them, she answered "yeah, there old"! We then ordered the snow crab roll. When it arrived, we could not eat it as it smelled overwhelming strong and fishy. Again, when we asked our waitress, she said "yeah, I smelled it as I was bringing it to you". If your product is old, it should never be for sale! We did each enjoy the ca roll tho. The waitress took off the crab roll and gave us 15% off our bill. While I appreciated this, it would've been better to have not had this happen, especially when it should've been avoided! I'm not sure if we will be back anytime soon! read more

They do have a wide variety of selection, but I just didn't think that the sushi was that fresh. It may be because I have come at a later time in the day. Was thrilled to see a sushi restaurant close to home. Then I ate there and was sorely disappointed. The menu photos do not look like the items on the conveyor belt. The chefs also had a hard time naming them to the people next to me. I translated for them, as I too am Hispanic. I ordered the ramen, which only tasted of soy sauce. The meat, pork, had no flavor other than the soy sauce and it was gooey, as if it had simmered in the soy based broth way too long. I sent it back. The California roll and shrimp tempura roll tasted only of the sushi rice. Tempura was soggy. The Safeway China express could have done it better...and I never eat that stuff. I will save my sushi loving appetite for Sushi Maki in Burien, lesson learned. read more

Hey! Had to make a Yelp just for this! Today was the first time comming in with my parents and we loved it! Comming into a new restaurant means expecting a different culture, so all the poor reviews probably didn't get what they're used to. We came in and we're seated right away, the waitress seemed well respected by pulling chairs open for us and took our drink order so that we were given time to review the menus,  she came back with all our drinks took our order and sushi men prepared our food for us fresh! Wait-staff kept our drinks full although it was busy, I have to say I am very impressed by the system set in this particular restaurant. We were very satisfied, and will be back for more! read more

Went here for the first time. I've driven past the place a few times so I decided to check it out. It's similar to Genki and Sushi Land in that it uses the conveyor belt. But there is an option to order off the menu. We were greeted promptly and the servers were very friendly. They checked up on us a few times during our meal which was nice. Lots o' kinks to work out, some not the fault of the restaurant, though. Attentive staff, friendly but need to learn more about the menu. We came on a Saturday night about 5:00. NO parking at all! We drove around for about 10 minutes before parking 2 blocks away. The strip mall is in the process of also opening a Starbucks and, what looked like to be, a Panera. Maybe 40 spots in all. There is a huge lot across the street for the Church but it had a locked gate, as did the apt. building behind the mall. I suspect with the NYP Grill and Bar next door, parking will continue to be a problem, especially on game days/nights. That being said, the restaurant in itself is nice and the "new" sterile/hard surface atmosphere. 3 chefs working, 4 servers buzzing around. We asked to be seated at a table but were told they were reserved for larger groups. We sat at the counter - another problem for me. I'm 5'1" and the seats were too low for a comfortable counter experience. If you are shorter - forgetaboutit. The belt was maybe a 1/4 full with no cards to identify what was what. Finally, ordered some items off the menu - calamari, tempura veggies, and salmon collar. All OK - nothing to rave about. However, one of my very faves is salmon collar. Nope - came out as a nice piece of well-cooked filet - not a crispy piece or bone in sight. I asked our server if he knew what salmon collar was - he went back to the chef who said they didn't have salmon collar, even though it is listed as a menu item, as is Hamichi collar. OK - by now the belt is filling up some with un-identifiable plates of goodness but no salads, fried items or dessert. Hmmm. We left about 7:00 and there were only 4 other couples - all at the counter. All in all, 6 plates came to $36, not including tip. Probably try again in a few months if we don't have to hike in blocks. read more

I live up the hill in Fairwood so it's great that this area has opened up with new dining options nearby since we're limited on the hill. I was excited to see a sushi place opening as the next nearest is at The Landing or Southcentre. My husband and I came here last night, our first time trying the place. Overall, it was pretty good and I'll return but I have some recommendations for the location: 1) There were no signs to indicate what the items were on the belt (like they have at Blue-C). Sometimes I'm looking for a specific item so signs are helpful, sometimes the signs entice me to try something and if I were to try something it would be nice to know what it was so I could specifically look for it again if I liked it. 2) The hot items have nothing keeping them hot. For example, we got some mini spring rolls and they were cold. Sure, you can order from the menu, but why not try and keep hot things hot? 3) Many items were going round on the belt with no dome top on them, just open to the elements. This seemed a little odd and slightly less "clean" than I was comfortable with. I did order the unagi nigiri off the menu because eel is my absolute favourite. It was spot-on and I enjoyed it very much. When we were all done our server, (who had popped by several times during the meal to check on us) didn't seem to notice we were done and it took a while to get our check. I'll come back again since it's the closest to my house but TBH I prefer other locations that label their sushi on the belt. read more

Overjoyed to have this place so close to home! Tried it 3x since it opened and have loved it all. The rolls are fresh and innovative. Favorites are the Mafia Roll, Tuna Wrap and Fireball. Love the grilled Hamachi collar and large slices of sashimi, especially the white tuna! Good selection of beer with wine and sake. Service is awesome, even when ordering take out. There are even screens up for sports viewing! Way less noisy than the establishment next door. Keep up the good work, iSushi!!! read more
