I was very impressed with all aspects of Issaquah Vision, including how serious they are taking cleanliness and making sure they are following all health and safety guidelines. Bettina was the lady getting me prepped to see the doctor and she did an amazing job! I also appreciated the knowledge and care of my doctor that did my exam. They call 4pm on a Friday before a Monday appointment telling me that my insurance isn't pulling up correctly. I called back just after 5 pm and left a message. When I get there they tell me I have to pay out of pocket and I say no. Then they slap me with a $100 cancellation fee. If they would have just called me back prior to showing up or told me about the issue prior to the cancellation period I wouldn't have get hit with a fee. Shady practices. read more

DONT GO TO THIS CLINIC EVER WITHOUT READING THIS! I had 2 appointments with an optometrist Dr. Adam Smith. After the visit, I was informed by the receptionist that I don't have to pay anything out of my pocket as they contacted my insurance and confirmed that the insurance will cover the total amount. Later, when I called to book my 3rd appointment at this clinic then within few days, this clinic sent me an invoice and charged me full for the earlier 2 appointments. This clinic does such things to lure patients to their clinic and give all FALSE details about appointment charges and then slam you will heavy bill later. Please don't fall for this trap and avoid going to this clinic! "It is my sincere request to this clinic to stick to their words and remove the charges. I wish this clinic should not break trust and keep their dignity. I would really appreciate honesty and transparency hereafter." Being reputable, this behavior is definitely very INAPPROPRIATE and extremely MISALEADING. I strongly believe this is wrong behavior and not expected from this clinic. read more

Dr. Cassidy owns this practice and although I have never met him, I believe he must be much better at the medical side of the practice than the business side. It is unfortunate because the doctors we have seen are top notch but the administrative staff that greets you are a scourge on this practice. Additionally the required forms, both on-line or in person, are poorly worded, for example, the financial responsibility form says "the doctor may wish to order additional testing..." in my opinion, in a medical practice the language could be more definitive to say " the doctor may require additional testing.." but the worst part of the interaction with this practice is the person at the front desk. She is better suited to work in a non public facing job. read more

Dr. Steve Cassidy is awesome, very knowledgeable, and friendly. No complaints about him or the staff. I would suggest that they be upfront with out of pocket expenses. Apparently, they did a test and did not clearly state that this was not covered under preventative maintenance. I am more annoyed with them locking my insurance. Yesterday, I went to LensCrafters to get a pair of glasses and was unable to do so because my insurance was locked. I called up my insurance company and was informed that Issaquah Vision had claimed my insurance. I believe this happened when I visited them for my vision examination two months back. Issaquah Vision, you have no right to assume that I will buy hardware from you and lock my insurance without my consent. I can understand you having locked my insurance during the visit however keep it claimed for two months seems very unethical to me. I hope you will change your policies. read more

I've been seeing eye doctors since I was 2 years old. Now that I'm 41, I have a ton of experience. Dr Stephen and Olga (eyeglass technician) are GREAT. The bedside, or exam room, manner is exceptional. I have never felt so at ease as I do at their office. They have all the latest gadgets for scoping our your eyes such as the Optomap and they even do pre- / post-op for LASIK surgeries. Even though I'm going to get LASIK soon so I dont have to visit them as much personally, the family (little kids too) will continue to see Dr. Stephen. Only reason I give them $$$ is they carry high-end, high-quality frames. read more

Easily the best optometrists anywhere. Friendly, kind, caring, patient and very knowledgeable. I always leave feeling like I've received the best care possible and like I've been visiting family. Good family, not the annoying ones. The technicians, Susie, Tracy and Bettina have beyond human patience in running all of the tests and measurements that are done before your exam. If you whine, like I do, about the air poof glaucoma test, they find a different way to conduct it. I've been seen by both Dr. Walt and Dr. Stephen and my son was seen by Dr. Erinn. All 3 are amazing people and will ensure you have a thorough eye exam and all of your questions are answered. You'll never feel rushed or that your questions are dumb. They will spend the amount of time you need to understand everything you need to know about your eyes. The office staff are all happy to see you when you arrive. Being the first point of contact, and the last, it's very important to have knowledgeable, helpful people and Issaquah Vision has the perfect team. Make sure you are going to Issaquah Vision and not Issaquah Eye care. The eye care office is new to the area and offers walk in appointments. That's like picking up a pizza that's been sitting under the heat lamp. You want a pizzeria that is so good, it's too busy to have pizza just sitting around. I recently moved to Issaquah, Washington, from San Francisco. Glasses that I like for their cool blue frames had scratched lenses. All I wanted was to replace the lenses. Not complicated. Or at least one would so think. I was not looking for an eye exam. Didn't need it. Per Issaquah Vision, I was required by Washington law to have a complete eye exam before I could get the lenses replaced. OK, maybe an eye exam couldn't hurt, maybe even a good idea given that my eyes had not been examined for three years. So, the Issaquah Vision staff, all 500 of them, about a dollar apiece as it turned out, gave me multiple tests. I stared into multiple retinal and probably also renal tests on their computers for about an hour. Great! I'm done with this. Let's talk about replacing my lenses. I had the frames, the glass was merely scratched. Not done yet. Had to hang with the one of the Dr. Cassidys. Same drill I have been through a thousand times. Look into the optical thing, clearer as one, clearer as two, flip the thing back and forth, whatever. OK, now I am done. Please replace the lenses and let me out of here. $500 for the visit. You gotta be kidding me. But whatever. Take the credit card and let me go. So I left. Only to discover that I had left my Visa card behind. Duh. After getting some food, I returned to Issaquah Vision to pick up my Visa card. Thanks, sorry I left it, see you later. Not so fast. Holding my credit card, an older guy in the glasses area (don't ever get your eyes checked by someone who is selling glasses), call him Dr. Zhivago, said I had to sit with him to review my glasses situation. By that time I had had it. Recovered my credit card and said order my lenses. This entire exercise was ridiculous. Issaquah Vision had all of my contact info but I had a good pair of backup glasses so wasn't thinking much about new lenses in my cool blue frames - until today - ten days later. Now about today, March 2, 2017, I drop by Issaquah Vision (full radio silence in the meantime) about 10AM to pick up my glasses which had to be done by now. Had to be done. Just replace the lenses and give me my glasses. Oh, you are here for your glasses? Not ready yet, we have the new lenses but they need to be cut to fit your frames. Are you kidding me? Kiss me ass, I said and stormed out. Then I returned and said you get those lenses into those frames ASAP, which they said they would do by noon. I was making a lot of loud, unhappy customer noises. Then they said by one. OK, I was running errands and that would work. So I return in the afternoon to Issaquah Vision (by the way the receptionist was very nice), Dr. Zhivago handed me my glasses but made noises about fitting them properly to my frontal lobe, face, etc. These were frames I had worn happily for two years. No adjustment needed. Next, I demanded a copy of my eyeglass prescription. That took ten minutes for Dr. Zhivago to print. Exceedingly furious by this time, I grabbed the prescription and headed up the street to Virginia Mason optical. Guess what? My new prescription was about a hair off for my left eye compared to new glasses. I had no need for the eye exam and it turned out to be useless. $500 for zip. In short, anyone who goes to Issaquah Vision for help with their vision - or replacement lenses -- is a fool. Enjoy getting ripped off for excremental service. BTW, Dr. Zhivago is merely an employee that fits glasses. The real culprits for this miserable operation are the two Dr. Cassidy's who run the place. If you have vision problems, use an icepick. I have been to 3 other optometrist clinics in the area and have had bad luck getting a pair of glasses that worked and finally ended up at Issaquah Vision. The gal there took one look at my lenses and said that they were a unique brand and because my eyes were accustomed them it would be very hard to switch. The glasses I got from them worked perfect. I have lost track of how many years I have been seeing Dr Steve Cassidy at Issaquah Vision. I take medication that has an effect on my vision so he is very careful to watch for any signs of change in the macula during my annual exam. During my most recent exam I was not doing very well and the Technician that performed the Optimap procedure and other portions of the pre-exam tests was very solicitous and kind. She was sure not to rush the tests so I was able to compose myself between them. Then Dr Steve was so kind and patient when I had a 'mini-meltdown' in the exam room. His gentle bear hug made everything so much better. I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for an eye care professional. The thoroughness of the exam, the in-depth explanation of the Optimap, and the personable staff make it worth the trip to see them. read more

My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Walter Cassidy at Issaquah Vision for about 12 years. Each visit over that time has been a terrific experience. Dr. Cassidy himself is quite personable and thoroughly explains (with visual aids) every aspect of our eye health. The Optomap imaging that his office uses is quite helpful in seeing and understanding the condition of our eyes. Even though that service costs a little extra, we both find it well worth it and never hesitate to agree to have it done on each annual visit. Last December I went in and saw Dr. Cassidy and his staff. I tried to explain my history and I felt like they weren't listening to me. I told them that my vision was getting worse fast. They blew through the appt. and acted like it was no big deal. Maybe it was because I was one of the last patients of the day and they just wanted out of there?? I just felt like they didn't hear me or care about me. I later went to another Dr. and found that I'm basically legally blind in my left eye, have to be referred to a specialist, and will probably need surgery. Granted, I may have gotten even worse in the in-between time, but my vision was really bad, even then. I feel that they should've caught it and regret not getting a second opinion (and paying for it myself since they had just taken all of my insurance money.) read more
