I've been coming here with my kids for a couple years. However this year I'm more than irritated. I took my daughter in for her yearly exam and explained that I'd like her to wear contacts since she'll be driving and her instructor suggested it. The dr did the entire exam and was like any questions. Yes the contacts. She didn't want to give them to us because my SIXTEEN year old wasn't 100% sure about them. She's a child. So she goes in for the most expensive ones they sell at over $700 a year. Um no.... So she orders her some trials. An entire MONTH later the trials have arrived and we go in. My daughter immediately says it's the wrong script and it's blurry more so than her old glasses script. We were told to wear them for two weeks and come back. She wore them for two weeks. We came back and sure enough wrong script and wrong size. (So irritating) it's now the very end of February. They'll order more trials for her to try and will contact me when they're in. At the end of March I contacted them. They're on back order. Here we are mid May and my daughter still doesn't have her contacts to try. Unfortunately I've paid for this so I can't even take her somewhere else without having to pay a few hundred $$. I won't be back. You just lost 4 patients. read more

Dr Ahn has been great and personable! His hours are getting harder to schedule though as he only works certain weekdays and doesn't start until 9:30am which means a lot of missed school in order to get your kids appointments in. He doesn't have a huge amount of experience in terms of myopia control, but he's very transparent and shares all the research with you in terms of pros/cons of each different modality which I appreciate. read more

I am not a patient here because I do not need glasses. But I bring my son in for exams and to do contacts. My son likes the doctor here but the staff is rude. A few months back I did not want my son to have glasses because he just likes contacts. The eye glass lady was too pushy and rude. When I didn't want to get glasses it feels like she wanted us to leave. I know perfect English. I don't need a lady to talk so very slowly to me. Maybe she is racist. I do not know why they would hire someone like that but I will bring my son somewhere else. Also when he went to wash his hands in their bathroom to try contacts he said he stepped in something stinky. They need a better house cleaner. read more

I see from previous reviews that many have had a positive experience at Optica. I am not one of those. I went in for glasses and had nothing but disappointment. I bought both regular and sun glasses and they were not able to get either pair to work for me. The bifocal part was a mess and they significantly distorted my vision to the point of being unsafe. After several trips back, they wanted me to start paying for the changes. Dr. Ahn was very nice which is why I did give two stars however, I felt the front desk staff would have much preferred to lock the doors when they saw me coming. After spending more than $1000 in addition to what insurance paid, I decided to give up, ending up with two pair of useless glasses. Although I wasn't thrilled initially with the idea of wearing glasses, I soon accepted it and was actually excited about the idea. Unfortunately, my bad experience certainly burst that bubble. After consideration I took the frames I purchased at Optica and went to Costco where I received the most thorough eye exam ever and now have a great pair of glasses. My wife also had a disappointing experience at Optica as well. We won't be going back. read more

Dr. Ahn is very friendly, professional, genuinely cares about you and most importantly knows what he is doing. He is very thorough and makes sure you are comfortable and satisfied before you leave. The office is clean and looks fairly new. They had a great selection of frames to choose from. Is is hard for me to find frames that I like and fit my face, but their selection is quite impressive. I came here to get an eye exam from a referral from a friend and the experience was great! The office is very modern, clean, and very savvy. Dr. Anh was very professional, friendly and answered all of my questions. He made sure that I was happy with my visit before I left. He really knows his stuff. So I happened to be in the Seattle area for a work assignment and as luck would have it my glasses broke. I happened to be in Issaquah, at a sports bar, and saw Optica Vision across the street. I came in to just browse, because it was near their closing time. But Dr. Ahn and his optician, Susan, were very accommodating. I'm very picky when it comes to my glasses and I must have gone through at least 15 pairs. But they were patient and very helpful... pointing out what to look for in glasses that I wasn't aware of. Dr. Ahn went one step further and stayed late and gave me an eye exam. He understood I was in town for a short period and needed new glasses. He was very thorough in the exam and I liked how he explained what he was doing during the exam. Long story short, they got me my new glasses before I left Seattle and I'm loving them. Now, I did pay a little more than I expected, but I wanted nice frames and I knew I wasn't going to Costco :-) But they do have good choices for all kinds of budgets. read more

I recently went there to get frames for my prescription from an ophthalmologist. I went to Dr Ahn last year, but due to a couple of autoimmune diseases I thought going to an MD this year was more prudent. Optica has a great selection of frames and the staff was extremely helpful. I find shopping for glasses difficult and yet they made it enjoyable. Later that day I got a call that they were concerned that my prescription may be off because it was so different from last year. So before they ordered my glasses they checked my eyes again and indeed my prescription from the other doctor was incorrect. Dr. Ahn also recommended a new daily contact that can help with my extremely dry eyes. I have been using them the last few days and it feels great. I think the MD may have been helpful with the condition of my eye, but not particularly skilled at fitting me for glasses and contacts. I will continue to see Dr. Ahn for all my contacts and eyeglass needs. read more

Another optometrist/optical center has been trying to fine tune my prescription for three months. Yesterday I went to see Dr. Ahn, and within a short period of time he had solved the puzzle for me. He then suggested that I take his prescription to my current provider as he thought they might put in the correct lenses for no charge - Dr. Ahn stated that he didn't want me to have to pay for new frames and lenses in his clinic if I could save money with my current provider.
