During our visit, there were several teenagers, approximately 13-16 years old, behaving overly aggressively. Slides were pulled out from underneath my 4-year-old daughter, and my husband, my daughter, and I were shoved multiple times. There was also loud, explicit conversation about their genitals, along with repeated use of the F-word and other inappropriate language around my young child. I'm not unreasonable either, I understand this is a kids place for kids to have fun and be crazy but what we experienced was far past normal kid behavior. Structures were broken, multiple families were uncomfortable and questioning where the parents to these children were. While I was at the front desk speaking with Bradley about what was happening and requesting a refund, I witnessed a child being thrown through a structure. That incident further demonstrated the concerns I was trying to explain. Bradley verbally told me that I would be receiving a refund. I then contacted Groupon, and I was told that Rush Fun Park's management had stated that the claims were not substantiated. I specifically asked Rush Fun Park to review the security footage because the incidents I described are visible on camera as an employee told me all cameras are recording and one camera points directly in that direction. Instead of reviewing the footage with me or providing an explanation, I have felt repeatedly ignored and have had difficulty getting management to respond. I have been trying to reach the manager since August 29. I called multiple times and was repeatedly told that employees did not know when she would be in the office. I was also told that Gabriella, Bradley, Liam, Jesus and other employees had contacted the manager on my behalf, explained what happened, and provided my phone number because I was trying to get a response. When the manager finally contacted me (September 19th 11am), I was told that she could not help me and that she would forward my message to corporate. I was offered another pass to a different location instead of having my refund request resolved. I was also accused of "cussing out" employees. I want to be very clear: I did not verbally abuse or use profanity toward any employees. I was frustrated and persistent because I was seeking a response to a legitimate complaint, but continuing to request accountability is not the same thing as verbally abusing someone. I specifically asked that the phone calls be reviewed because they should confirm this. If management believes otherwise, I believe it should identify the specific interaction, date, time, employee, and statement involved rather than making a vague accusation. I have been frustrated by the lack of communication, but I understand that the employees are not responsible for management's failure to follow up. My biggest disappointment is that I spent money intending to celebrate my daughter's birthday, only for us to leave after less than 45 minutes into our 3 hour stay because of the environment. I then spent weeks trying to get a response about the refund I was told I would receive. I am asking Rush Fun Park to review the security footage from approximately 6:00 PM until our departure and the relevant phone calls, and to address my complaint based on the actual evidence rather than dismissing it without reviewing the footage. I would strongly recommend that management take these concerns seriously, particularly when young children are involved.

Among all the different slides there is something for everyone from 6 (my grandkid) to 76 (me)! Although they are all fun, my favorite slide is the Python, followed by the Royal Flush. But I recommend you try all the slides! This is a great place for birthday parties, there's a cafe and lots of tables overlooking the playing floor. There is also a special area with toddler-size activities. One thing I especially like about Slick City is that through the adventure of slides, it teaches children self confidence and helps give them the courage to overcome fear in a healthy environment. Granddaughter (7 yrs) climbed up to the top of one of the tallest slides, only to start crying from fear and then she'd climb back down. 15 minutes later she'd go up again, only to come down, defeated by her fear. She kept it up (learning determination) until she finally found the courage to slide down from the top. The smile on her now self-confident face was priceless. She had conquered her fear! She went back and rode that slide again at least 10 times. The place is pricey but well worth it. Note: you must purchase a pair of their special traction socks in the slide areas. They do not allow any other brand, so save yours for subsequent trips.

The five-and-under area was much smaller and less fun than the one in Scottsdale. Even though admission for that area is cheaper than regular admission, it still came to about $19 after tax for 90 minutes. I realize that's pretty comparable to other children's play places, but at that price, I still expect my toddler to have a good time. Instead, I had to keep persuading her to stay and play because she was bored and wanted to go into the larger kids' section, which isn't safe for her age. There also isn't a gate to keep younger kids inside the little-kid area. At the Scottsdale location, we stayed for almost three hours, and I never had to persuade her to keep playing. The "arcade," if you can even call it that, was also really disappointing. I bought a $10 game card, but there were only a few games, and some weren't working. The claw machines had cheap-looking prizes, while most of the other working games seemed better suited for older kids or teenagers. The whole area looked dumpy and thrown together, like they didn't put much thought or effort into it. I also think it's ridiculous that a waiver signed at one Slick City location doesn't carry over to another. I had already completed one for Scottsdale but had to fill out another one here. They really should have a company-wide system. I was happy to learn that the Thunderbird location had a five-and-under area because it's so close to us, but after this experience, I would still rather drive 32 miles to Scottsdale. Thunderbird really needs to improve and expand the younger-kids' area so it's actually worth the price. If socks are required, the cost should be clearly stated upfront when purchasing tickets--not something you find out at check-in.
