Isle PediSpa has got to be the best nail salon in Houston, if not USA. Lived in Houston(+ did nails around the world) and moved to Chicago, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their products, service, material, and environment.
Isle PediSpa is tucked sideways in a small strip mall on Kirby Dr., part of the West U neighborhood. It took me a few circling and backing up to find it.
The spa itself is clean and bright, in addition to the completely independent warm wooden panels made seat/booth (that comes with not only individual pedicure sink but also manicure table, so the customers don't have to physically move around salon with wet, painted nails) there were pillows to cover your pums-pums for short skirts girls like me. Independent foldable flat screen TVs were installed into each booth, and did I mention their real+non-sweeten tea?
Though totally about 20 minutes late, I was still greeted and seated quickly without any problems- granted it did happen around 1:30pm on a Thursday in Houston. Their service is quick and precise, and when I got my no-chip (Shellac and Calgel) mani-pedi, I had 2 staff working on my nails and toes the entire time. Both ladies, Nicole and Amy, were fast yet very careful. They confirmed with me regarding length, shape, and temperature. Fixed my little bleeding nick on my pinky so I won't hurt too much during soak off. Managed to whip out rings of color samples when I asked about color choices, and remembered to explain the potential thickness problems that occur often when sandwiching layers of gel and nail art materials. Nicole also was able to make recommendation about what pedi treatment I should get for my sad, cold, and crack Chicago feet. I received the Plumeria Pomegranate Pedicure™ and now I want them to open a pedispa in Chicago just for me.
I've been getting no-chip services for years now (before it started in the US) and I could tell (without having to wait around to see) that the quality of the work is solid+strong, and my fingers and toes will last me at least 3 weeks straight. When Amy was filing my real nails, she quadruple-checked the length and shape with her own fingertips. That kind of professional insistence is truly seen only (by me) in Japanese-style Asian nail salons that I went at home, Taiwan. Shellac, Calgel, and Gelish are all brands that I trust and have experienced with to outlast other no-chip polish brands. And the soufflé mask they put on my legs? Super moisturizing and smelled fantastic. A+++!
Price is really the only downside of Isle PediSpa. This would be a fair price in Chicago, but I feel that when in Houston+ the price they charge, the interior and furniture should be even more spotlessly sleek and upscale, and the equipments should be kept even cleaner. That being said, I still gladly took out my credit card and paid for the service. Bottom line: I went to Isle PediSpa in preparation for a special wedding occasion and treated myself. On a daily basis, I'd still stick with my wayyy less fancy, but good value neighborhood Classic Nails in Chicago. read more
