    The bay

Had a great lunch there this past wknd. Had a wonderful server just wish I knew her name. If you sit outside you get a beautiful view of the bay.

4 separate defamatory notes left by bitter drunk women!

I was there the night "Jodie" and "Jeanine" came in. They were drunk and had outside beverages that the server told them were not allowed. After arguing back, the manager was called over. When the manager came over and told them they couldn't have outside beverages, they called him an asshole and continued arguing about being rude to them. This was why they were asked to leave. This "asked to leave for no reason" crap was completely false. After they left, they posted handwritten nasty notes around the community spreading ridiculous lies. They are not welcome in our safe space!! Please see attached notes that are false as can be. The manager here is beloved and supported here.

My husband and I visit Island Breeze a couple of times each summer and we always feel welcomed! We have a few favorites on the menu we enjoy the Baja Bowl, calamari, the brussels sprouts app and the chicken sandwich. I also enjoy their specialty drink the Fire Island (picture attached). It's a great ambiance overlooking the bay and a fun staff. Eddie and Joey are our favorites!!!!!Eddie is always pleasant and checks in to make sure all is to our liking and Joey's recommendations don't disappoint. Thanks for another great summer.

All I had was this burger and had the poops all night!

Typical American food. We all had different things like mozzarella sticks(they were huge), fish and chips, shrimp and tuna. It was ok, nothing to write home about, but the service was good and our waiter was really nice even though he forgot our (umm not good) dessert. It tasted like it came from a box.

After walking around we decided to stop here for some food. we came & were seated towards the back part overlooking the water. Drinks I tried the Fire island , decent taste wise not much on the alcohol , my friends had I think it was a Rocket ship? it's basically like a margarita with 3 shots , ah it was alright. On the food Decent Mozzarella sticks , Calamari & Chicken Dumplings not too bad. I had the Grilled Chicken sandwich , the sandwich was good nice taste a bit spicy on the sriracha mayo , comes with fries good as well. Hubby had the Pulled pork sandwich , this was good as well nice tasting pork. Decent looking place , party in the front , loud music , not bad .. service was good for the most part , price wise they really need to do better with the drink prices , prices are way too high for what they give u not worth the prices on the liquor , food could be better but doable.

It's your island dive with hamburger, chicken finger, fish and chips and Cesáre salad, beer and soft drinks as the menu at least at end of season. Beach vibe, sandy feet, sandals, shorts and speedo with straw hats is the order of the day. Chuck our server was a great guy and totally makes the place have character. The food was awesome pub fare, fresh and super tasty. I really was surprised at this late in the game to be so great. When I come back next year at the height of the season I will come here and take full advantage of the strobe light mirror ball and other lighting features that probably light up the night of Cherry Grove. Loved it

5 STARS - AMAZING SERVICE, ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD AND DRINKS! I can't express how great of a spot Island Breeze is and how much fun we had! I came to Cherry Grove for the first time this past weekend with some friends for my birthday. We had stopped at Cherry's on the Bay first, but it was too hot and the bar was separate from the food (bar cash only, food can be on credit card). After two fun drinks each we moved on to Island Breeze. We were immediately seated and told there would be a show in the next half hour. Our waiter Brian (or Bryan) was over right away, learning our names and story. I loved his energy. He made sure to personalize our experience and made each and every one of us feel special. He made it feel like we were old friends! In regards to the food, I will say we all cleaned our plates so quick I almost didn't catch what everyone got. I had the grilled chicken sandwich (so good) and saw a steak sandwich, classic chicken fingers, lobster roll sliders, and watermelon feta salad. In regards to drinks I must recommend anything and everything with cucumber vodka - so crisp and refreshing! The Babylon was exceptionally delicious. If you can plan your visit accordingly, definitely stop in when Tammy is performing! She walked around and got everyone involved without really putting anyone on the spot (although we did get the more family friendly G rated version as it was a Sunday; we have to come back for a Friday or Saturday night performance).

Great! The staff was very nice and our server had patience. They allowed us to haves dog at the outside eating area, they even brought him a bowl for water. The drinks............ strong! That's a plus. Will visit again.

It took almost 30 minutes just to have our order taken, another 30 minutes for soup, another 30 minutes for the calamari appetizer, and yet another 30 minutes for our main dish, which was just a lobster roll. What should have been a simple meal turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating wait. What made it worse was that our waitress didn't seem apologetic at all about how long everything was taking. In fact, she appeared much more attentive to the table next to us, who she seemed to know personally, while we were left waiting most of the time. To add to that, the water we asked for never even arrived. The experience ended on an uncomfortable note when we went to pay. Our card was flagged for possible fraud (likely because we're not from the area). While my husband was already pulling out cash to pay, a man wearing a beanie and chef jacket stood there in a pushy manner insisting we call the bank immediately while he waited. Between the extremely slow service, lack of attentiveness, and the uncomfortable payment interaction, the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. Save yourself the trip and the time -- we should have listened to the reviews before making the drive.

It's a quick, easy walk from the beach, and the views are worth it. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside, and it had a fun, laid-back vibe. We started with a Rocket Fuel, which is a must have when anywhere on Fire Island, especially after a hot day! To start, we ordered the Yummy Balls from the sushi menu. They're three crispy rice balls topped with spicy tuna and crunchy bits. They definitely tasted better than they looked! The presentation wasn't anything special, but the flavor was on point. My friend built her own Dive Poke Bowl with tuna. It comes with edamame, avocado, crunch, and lettuce, and everything tasted really fresh. I stole a bite (obviously), and it was really good. I ordered the Blackened Mahi Tacos. They were fresh and the fish was cooked well, but I thought they were a little bland. Nothing a squeeze of lime or a little extra sauce couldn't fix though, I still enjoyed them. The service was quick and friendly. The views are great, the drinks were solid, and the menu has a little bit of everything. It's the perfect spot to end a beach day, whether you're just grabbing a cocktail or staying for dinner!

I had the New York Sirloin which was mouthwatering It was so good that after each bite, I just sat back in my chair and savored it as I slowly chewed. After being offered a table in the center of the empty room, we asked for a window table and were seated at a four-top. Then the disorganization started: we were asked about water preference, handed a drink menu, and left for a good five minutes with no food menus while several waiters stood idle nearby. When our waiter arrived, he seemed surprised our reservation was for two, cleared the extra settings, and brought menus -- one of which was missing the appetizer page entirely. The food was hit-or-miss, mostly miss. The bright spots: an excellent mocktail, very good jumbo shrimp cocktail (nice touch serving remoulade, mignonette, and caper berries), and broccoli rabe that was legitimately the best thing on the table -- perfectly cooked, garlic and red pepper spot on. Now the rest. The Kumamoto oysters weren't served as cold as they should be, and one was fishy. My girlfriend's cocktail was mediocre. Her halibut had a mealy texture, and the gnocchi and fava beans alongside it were underseasoned. My $165 tomahawk arrived visibly overcooked -- enough that our waiter told the server to skip the usual tableside butter-basting to avoid cooking it further. I didn't send it back because my girlfriend's food was already down and I didn't want to eat alone twenty minutes later. Each slice had a half-inch gray band around the edge with only a narrow strip of medium-rare in the center. It carried an aged smell and flavor, but not the clean, nutty character of a properly dry- or wet-aged steak. For that price point, this cut should be the kitchen's signature. It wasn't close. The lobster mac was the low point: the lobster meat tasted fishy -- something I've rarely encountered anywhere -- and the dish had a dried-out crust suggesting it sat under a heat lamp before reaching us. Dessert, a lava cake, was genuinely delicious. Telling that the best course of the night was the one most likely not made in-house. Service throughout was disjointed: my empty drink was never addressed, and after dessert we sat roughly ten minutes before flagging someone down for the check. On the way out, I spoke with the two managers standing near the entrance -- making clear upfront that I wasn't seeking comps or special treatment, just giving honest feedback since I was unlikely to return. One manager simply stood and listened. The other, who introduced himself as "the boss," told me I should have spoken up during the meal, assured me they have a strong following with famous clientele, and disputed our initial wait time despite not having been in sight when it happened. Meanwhile, our waiter stood conspicuously within earshot listening to the conversation rather than tending his tables. Worth noting: we learned the same group runs Benjamin Steakhouse in Hartsdale, where I've had a similarly mediocre experience. The consistency across locations tells you this isn't an off night -- it's the standard. If you want to pay Manhattan steakhouse prices for inconsistent food and disorganized service -- with a great view -- this is your place. We won't be back.
