Price is a bit higher than other places with similar products. They are an acai bowl place with unlimited toppings for their bowls and also offer coffee drinks and merchandise. Some of the unique qualities of Island bodega are their island base and blue chia seed pudding, both of which use spirulina and give the foods a light blue color. The island base also has pineapple in it, but it's pretty mild overall - the equivalent of a vanilla for their fruity base options. They also have a crispy bee pollen topping which I had never seen before. Staff was friendly and patient with my questions about the different toppings and bases they had. I appreciated that they let me try a sample of the island base before committing to it! The store is a bit small but the decorations are cute and they have large windows so it's relaxing to eat there if it's not busy. read more

Been here so many times and they never disappoint! The service is always fast and friendly, and they're very generous with the toppings. I love how I can customize my own bowl with unlimited toppings each time. Personally I love their matcha base more than other açaí places, even their peanut butter tastes creamier than other places. I am blown away by how amazing an experience it was eating the island bowl. The acai itself isn't like others; here it is creamy and dense, almost like a gelato texture, and the sweetness isn't overwhelming as bite after bite, I can still taste the acai. The strawberries and blueberries were fresh and had a plump bite, and the banana had a good ripeness with no mush. The blue island texture was a nice contrast as it was more of a sorbet, with sweetness similar to the acai. Service was great as I wasn't rushed, and the employees offered samples if I was unsure about any of the flavors and items offered. Island Bodega is my local spot for acai and pitaya bowls. I ordered their dragon bowl and it was topped nicely with all the ingredients. They topped the bowl with a cashew butter, which made it feel like a filling meal. What's a more classic combo than nut butter and fruit? I am going to rank this fairly high when it comes to açaí bowls - it's very quaint and cozy inside. It was super busy on the day we went - but it still had a sort of calmness about it. Both açaí bowls we got were fantastic, I highly recommend the blue base it's so good. The staff was friendly, and very helpful and let us sample the different bases. Though the staff was friendly, they just seemed to not really know what they were doing had to many chefs in the kitchen - that was really my main issue was telling our order two to three times to different people as they kept handing off the bowls. I will note - for anyone who is familiar with this shopping plaza that the parking is horrible, but this has nothing to do with the business. Definitely will be going back. read more

Not sure if this place has real acai as compared to pur bowls or blue bowls in Long Beach. This açaí turns into all corn fructose syrup after you freeze it and then thaw it out to eat it then next day. Try it yourself but I don't think it's genuine acai. It seems to be all sugar and syrups. I gained weight when eating these acai bowls from here. read more

The steak with the enfrijoladas was so tender and fresh. I love mole and am super particular but the mole negra blew my socks off. The mix of fajitas were very fresh as well. Service was good. The music from the kitchen definitely set the vibe that the cooks/chefs were the real deal. The only negative was there was no towels in the bathroom or seat covers. We will definitely come back to try more items though.
